According to the UNESCO Institute of Statistics, in parts of sub-Saharan Africa, only 62% of primary school teachers have the minimum teaching qualifications.
In 2023, only 9% of young people in lower secondary education in Zambia reached the minimum level of proficiency in reading. Lifelong learning opportunities and economic growth are being stunted.
All children deserve a quality education from a transformative and supportive teacher. The Commonwealth Education Trust (CET) invests in teachers in low- and middle-income settings by providing accessible teacher professional development, including via its flagship programme, Teach2030.
The Role
To support the growth of CET, we are seeking a volunteer with Google Ads experience to undertake a one-off review of our Google Ad Grants account and implementation of actions.
Our Google Ad Grants account helps us raise awareness of our work, reach teachers around the world and connect with potential supporters and partners. We are looking for someone who can review the account, identify opportunities for improvement and implement recommendations to help maximise the impact of the grant.
The role will report to the Marketing Lead.
While this opportunity is initially focused on a one-off account review and optimisation project, we would also welcome volunteers who would be interested in supporting and optimising the account on an ongoing basis. However, this is not essential.
What you'll do
- Review the structure and performance of our Google Ad Grants account.
- Identify opportunities to improve performance and increase grant utilisation.
- Provide a summary and review with Marketing Lead
- Action these changes
What we're looking for
You might be a PPC professional looking to support a charitable cause or a digital marketer with experience managing Google Ads campaigns.
- Experience managing Google Ads campaigns (experience with Google Ad Grants would be an advantage).
- Knowledge of campaign optimisation, keyword research and conversion tracking.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to identify practical improvements.
- Ability to work independently and carry out tasks remotely.
- Reliability, organisation and good communication skills.
- An interest in education or the charity sector would be welcomed.
This is an exciting opportunity to use your digital marketing skills to help improve educational outcomes for teachers and children across the Commonwealth.
All children deserve a quality education from a transformative and supportive teacher.

This role is ideal for a creative, data-driven professional passionate about fostering inclusive leadership and equipping teams with the skills to advance social justice.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure onboarding content reflects role-specific and cultural integration needs.
- Monitor new hire feedback to refine onboarding experiences and reduce time-to-productivity.
Training Evaluation & Continuous Improvement
- Measure training effectiveness using key performance indicators (KPIs) such as engagement rates, knowledge retention, and behavioural change.
- Analyse feedback surveys, LMS data, and performance metrics to identify gaps and iterate on content.
- Stay ahead of L&D trends (e.g., gamification, AI-driven learning) to innovate QuilomboUK’s programs.
D&I Integration
- Ensure all learning initiatives prioritise equity, cultural competence, and trauma-informed approaches.
- Partner with ERG (Employee Resource Group) leaders to co-create programs that address systemic inequities.
- Advocate for accessible learning design, including accommodations for neurodiverse individuals and those with disabilities.
Qualifications
- Experience: 3+ years in L&D, instructional design, or leadership development, ideally within mission-driven or D&I-focused organisations, with hands-on experience using AI tools.
- Skills:
- Expertise in e-learning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate, Canva) and LMS platforms.
- Strong facilitation and storytelling skills for remote and hybrid audiences.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI) to measure program impact.
- Proficiency in prompt engineering for generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude) to create scalable content.
- Knowledge:
- Deep understanding of adult learning theories, inclusive pedagogy, and social justice frameworks.
- Familiarity with UK compliance standards related to workplace training.
- Understanding of ethical AI frameworks, algorithmic bias mitigation, and GDPR-compliant AI use in HR.
- Familiarity with AI and how it can amplify (or hinder) equitable learning outcomes.
- Alignment: Passionate about QuilomboUK’s mission and the role of L&D in driving equitable change.
Personal Attributes
- A visionary thinker who balances creativity with analytical rigour.
- Collaborative bridge-builder who engages stakeholders at all levels.
- Adaptive and empathetic, with a knack for simplifying complex concepts.
- Committed to lifelong learning and amplifying underrepresented voices.

AYDA needs help to support the development of young people from all backgrounds, particularly women and girls, through education, training and family programmes.
As a small volunteer-run charity, AYDA does not have the expertise to create an impactful social media presence. This is especially the case with LinkedIn which we believe to be pivotal in identifying and engaging with potential partners across the UK. This would enable our programmes to be rolled out more widely and so gain more traction.
Most urgently we need someone to work directly with the Chair, Lucy Njomo, to create a powerful profile for the charity. LinkedIn does offer support to "not for profit" organisations, but we have neither the knowledge nor the capabilities within the board of trustees to take advantage of this. We are seeking a confident professional who can take on the challenge of projecting AYDA and its critical work much more effectively to like-minded groups who could and should be working with us to tackle VAWG in society.
We also know that networking via LinkedIn will be fundamental in fuelling a separate initiative to build youth education and vocational training centre in Cameroon. Land and official permission have already been acquired so now we need to build the consortium to deliver this critical initiative.
The desired individual should therefore be able to build a powerful profile and the network visibility we need to bring these vital initiatives into the spotlight to attract both funding and delivery partners.
What are we looking for?
The ideal person to help us will be very comfortable in the social media world, particularly the use of LinkedIn to build strong B2B networks and relationships. Ideally they would also have some third sector experience in creating powerful charity profiles. Since this is an unpaid role, it is likely that the individual would have a personal passion for combatting VAWG in all sections of UK society and/or creating youth development opportunities in one of the poorest countries in sub-Saharan Africa.
Understanding of the capabilities of LinkedIn as a platform in general and its support structure for charitable organisations is critical.
What difference will you make?
We accept that we do not have the ability to maximise the potential offered by platforms such as LinkedIn. So, although we welcome advice, we urgently need someone to take on the challenge of turning that into positive actions to empower both the UK VAWG and Cameroon youth development initiatives.
Within the UK the specific impact goals are to:
- Create awareness and provide information about various forms of violence against women and girls. Educate target audiences about the prevalence and impact of VAWG on individuals, families and communities.
- Promote gender equality, by challenging harmful gender norms, fostering respectful relationships, and creating safe environments for women and girls.
- Introduce VAWG survivors to local support services such as helplines, shelters, counselling centres and legal aid organisations.
- Provide education and resources to engage men as allies and promote healthy masculinity. Encourage them as to challenge sexist attitudes and behaviours within their communities.
- Explore ways to support and empower survivors of VAWG. This can include trauma-informed approaches, self-care strategies, and opportunities for economic empowerment.
- Collaboration with key stakeholders in building partnerships to enhance communities’ positive response to VAWG. Highlight the significance of collaborations with government agencies, NGOs, law enforcement, health care providers and educational institutions.
For Cameroon the impact will come from opening doors to potential international funding, construction and delivery partners for the vocational training centre.
AYDA is proud of its work to date and now needs a LinkedIn presence that can take us to the next level.
We will contact all applicants and offer a short informal phone call with the Chair, Lucy Njomo, to explore opportunities.
Our vision is to improve the quality of life of young people, help fulfil their potential, and empower them to make a positive community contribution.
The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.
