Who we are looking for
We are looking for a values-led and collaborative leader who is genuinely excited by the opportunity to chair an ambitious organisation at an important moment in its journey. With a bold new strategy, strong foundations and a talented executive team in place, this is a compelling opportunity to help shape what comes next for children and young people across Sussex and Surrey.
You will be an experienced Chair or senior board-level leader, bringing a progressive, strategic mindset and a strong track record of creating the conditions for high-quality dialogue and sound decision-making. You will strike the right balance between support and constructive challenge, applying emotional intelligence to cultivate a trusted and effective partnership with the CEO and executive team.
You will demonstrate an active Christian faith alongside a genuine passion for our purpose and values, aligning personal conviction with organisational mission.
Time commitment - approximately one day per month on average.
This is an unpaid role; however, reasonable expenses will be reimbursed. The initial term of appointment is three years.

Hospital Visitor volunteers visit hospital settings to ensure that people detained under the Mental Health Act are aware that they have a legal right to an IMHA qualified advocate.The volunteers are instrumental in ensuring that clients get access to an advocate and can also support the work that advocates undertake.
As a hospital volunteer, you might:
hold drop-in sessions
attend events and ward meetings at local facilities

assist people to request advocacy support by completing a form online or calling our contact centre

We are looking for volunteer befrienders to spend some time with our clients in and around Central London or to speak to them over the phone. Befriending is a simple way to make a positive difference to someone who feels alone, or is socially isolated. Your gift of time and companionship will give them, and you, something to look forward to. As one of our volunteers once said,“this is an easy, very meaningful way to help someone and is immensely rewarding and fun!”
Meetings are regular, usually weekly or fortnightly, for at least six months although most of our volunteers stay involved for longer, only because they enjoy what they do! Phone calls can me made from any quiet space at your home or workplace.
You might visit a client in their home, or meet them in the community, chatting in coffee shops or talking while you walk - this really depends on what our client wants to do. Our clients are older Scots (60 plus) who simply want to do some of the activities that most of us take for granted.
We provide training before you start, ongoing support once you are matched, out of pocket expenses, references, social events and newsletters.
This could be an ideal opportunity gain practical experience of working with adults in a health and social care setting, or for anyonewho enjoys meeting new people and making their lives a little brighter.

This role is working therapeutically alongside a child/young person on one of our bereavement support programmes in a group setting. Ideally you will have experience in working with children.
You will be working therapeutically with your allocated child. You will have a group leader who will guide you through the structure of each day. There is also a program manager who will oversee and facilitate the whole weekend program.
You will also be expected to attend a debrief at the end of the weekend and also complete detailed documentation on the child/ young person you have been working with.
Lunch and refreshments will be provided during a weekend. We will pay 45 pence per mile to cover your travel expenses. We will provide training (Safeguarding Children, Volunteer Induction Day and other specialist training days).

Reflective, open‑minded, and good at working with ideas
Organised and reliable
Comfortable contributing to discussions and taking on small tasks
Excited to help build a programme that could change lives
Experience in facilitation, coaching, teaching, training, psychology, or wellbeing is helpful but not essential.
Time Commitment

MINDSET is a brand‑new men’s wellbeing and personal growth charity — and we’re looking for a small group of committed volunteers to join our HR & Volunteering Committee.
Our mission is to help men build resilience, confidence, emotional awareness, and healthier coping skills through practical, reflective, skills‑based support. To make that happen, we need brilliant volunteers — and a brilliant volunteer experience.

What the HR & Volunteering Committee Will Do
We’re looking for volunteers who can help us:
Build a positive, supportive, and inclusive volunteering programme
Develop simple, effective volunteer recruitment processes
Help us attract the skilled talent we need to launch
Support onboarding, induction, and volunteer engagement
Create volunteer role descriptions, adverts, and pathways
Shape policies around volunteering, wellbeing, and safeguarding
Bring ideas that help us create a great volunteer experience
Ensure volunteers feel valued, supported, and part of something meaningful
