Job description

Volunteer Role: IT Tech Tracker

Location: Based from our Luton Office with regular travel to our services across Luton and Bedford (expenses paid). Please note that not all of our service sites are wheelchair accessible.

About the Role

Help us make sure our teams have the technology they need to deliver outstanding services.

As an IT Tech Tracker, you'll visit our services  in Luton and Bedford to record and track ICT equipment, working alongside staff to understand what's currently in use. You'll also help identify any items that are damaged, missing, or require attention from our IT team.

The information you gather will directly inform future ICT planning and investment across the organisation. Your support will help ensure our teams can stay connected and continue providing high-quality support to residents and participants.

This is a practical role with a real impact, helping keep the technology behind our services working effectively.

What is the Commitment?

We have a number of services in Luton and Bedfordshire that we need to track our tech within. This is a short-term project that would ideally be completed within 6-8 months, as only one visit to each service is needed. We can be very flexible around the dates and times that work best for you to volunteer, though all volunteering must take place within our head office hours (Monday – Friday 9am- 5pm) so we can support you during visits.

About You

We are looking for volunteers who are friendly and reliable with:

Working knowledge of ICT: Able to identify tech models and ask relevant follow-up questions to get a full picture of tech support needs.
Clear communication and accurate record keeping.
Confidence to volunteer alone (with remote support) and a friendly approach.
What You Can Expect From Us

To support you and set you up for success in your volunteering role with us, you can expect that we will:

Work with you to find a volunteering arrangement that works for you and for the service. We will be as flexible as we can!
Reimburse you for agreed expenses relating to your volunteering, including all travel to services.
Welcome you warmly into our team and support you to get the most from your experience.
Recognise and celebrate your contribution to the team! We can provide references to confirm your achievements and contributions upon request.
Provide the training and guidance you need to understand the context of our services and to keep you and residents and participants safe.
Provide regular supervision and opportunities to provide feedback on your experience.
You will be eligible to register with Blue Light Discount Card.
