We are seeking to appoint an experienced professional to join the Education Committee with specific expertise in safeguarding and Prevent.
This is a vital governance role, providing strategic oversight to ensure that:
· Learners are safe and well supported
· Statutory safeguarding responsibilities are fully met
· A strong culture of vigilance and accountability is embedded
All panel members are expected to attend all EAP meetings. These occur four times within each academic year. Meetings are held either online or in person. Each meeting is schedule for an hour and half. If in person, the meeting will be held at CareTrade.
Key Responsibilities
As the EC member with responsibility for safeguarding and Prevent, you will:
Provide strategic oversight of safeguarding systems, policies, and practice
Support and challenge leaders to ensure compliance with statutory guidance, including:
· Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE)
· Working Together to Safeguard Children
· Safeguarding practices for adults
· The Prevent Duty
Act as the link committee member for safeguarding and Prevent, liaising with the Principal at TAP
Review safeguarding reports, data, and trends to ensure effective response and continuous improvement
Monitor the effectiveness of:
· Safeguarding training
· Prevent awareness and risk management
· Learner wellbeing and safety systems
· Ensure appropriate safeguarding of learners from risks including:
· Abuse and neglect
· Exploitation
· Radicalisation
Provide supportive challenge to senior leaders and contribute to a culture of professional curiosity and accountability
