Volunteer Chair of the Board of Trustees - MINDSET Charity

Who We Are

MINDSET Charity is a brand new start-up, volunteer‑run organisation dedicated to transforming men’s lives across England. We will support men on their journeys of mental wellbeing and self‑improvement through workshops, creative programmes, community‑based activities, and online groups.

We are building a movement rooted in resilience, dignity, and brotherhood. As we enter our foundation stage, we are seeking a visionary Chair who can guide, inspire, and empower our emerging Board of Trustees — many of whom are stepping into governance for the first time.

This is a rare opportunity to shape the culture, direction, and legacy of a charity at the very beginning of its journey.

The Role of Chair of the Board of Trustees

As our Volunteer Chair, you will be the driving force behind our governance, culture, and strategic direction. You will:

• Lead and inspire a board of passionate, mostly first‑time Trustees, helping them grow in confidence, clarity, and purpose.

• Create a positive, energising team spirit where every Trustee feels valued, supported, and able to contribute their strengths.

• Guide the board in setting the charity’s strategic vision, ensuring decisions are mission‑aligned and future‑focused.

• Facilitate effective, engaging board meetings that bring out the best in people and move the charity forward.

• Support the development of strong governance practices, ensuring MINDSET is legally sound, transparent, and accountable.

• Act as a trusted partner to the CEO/Founder, offering wisdom, support, and encouragement as we build this movement from the ground up.

• Represent the charity externally when needed, championing our mission and strengthening our credibility.

This is a volunteer role — but your leadership will shape the foundation, culture, and long‑term impact of a national movement.

You may have experience as a Chair, Trustee, senior leader, or team builder — but what matters most is your ability to:
