Job description

This is a fantastic opportunity to join the Board of Trustees at one of the world’s largest sporting charities, making a meaningful difference to the lives of hundreds of thousands of people each year. Established in 2010, the Premier League Foundation invests Premier League and partner funding into professional football club charities across England and Wales, delivering impactful community programmes at scale.

Trustees (Policing / Community Cohesion, Safeguarding / Education / Children and Young People, Health)
Premier League Foundation
Remote, with travel to Premier League and Premier League Foundation offices (London) required for board meetings
Unremunerated, with reasonable expenses paid

You will be joining a committed Board, providing leadership and strategic direction to the Premier League Foundation, and ensuring the charity continues to deliver against its mission, values and charitable objectives.

We are seeking to appoint three Trustees with senior-level expertise in one of the following areas:

Policing / Community Cohesion
You will bring significant strategic experience within policing, community safety or a related field, alongside a strong understanding of youth justice, crime prevention and community dynamics. You will have credibility to engage with senior stakeholders and a track record of building effective partnerships across complex environments.

Safeguarding / Education / Children and Young People
You will offer substantial expertise in safeguarding policy and practice, with experience of oversight at an organisational or system level. With a strong understanding of education and services for children and young people, you will be confident in providing both support and constructive challenge, including acting as a safeguarding lead Trustee.

Health (including Mental Health)
You will bring senior experience within health, public health or the third sector, with knowledge of mental health and wellbeing, especially in relation to children and young people. You will be able to advise on emerging issues and support the Foundation’s approach to prevention and partnership working.

In addition, all candidates will demonstrate:
• A strong commitment to the mission of the Premier League Foundation and the power of football to drive positive social impact
• The ability to contribute to strategic discussions and analyse complex issues
• Experience of operating at Board or senior leadership level
• Strong communication, judgement and collaborative skills
• A commitment to good governance, integrity and the Nolan Principles of Public Life
• The capacity to commit approximately 1–2 days per month to the role
