We provide peer support to people living with borderline personality disorder, through our online groups which are run throughout the month. As well as general support groups, we also have specialist groups for men-only, women-only, LGBTQIA+, young people and families. Our team of volunteer peer support workers, many with lived experience, co-facilitate the groups.
We are looking for a friendly and compassionate counsellor to provide monthly group supervision sessions, and 1:1 sessions where necessary, to ensure our team of peer support workers are fully supported throughout their time volunteering with us.
Main duties
- To provide monthly group supervision (online, via Teams) for the peer support workers
- To provide 1:1 support if needed (online, via Teams)
- To regularly check in with the peer support workers by email
- Highlight any areas of concern to the leadership team
- Maintain and record accurate and up to date records
Personal specification
- a minimum of level 4 in counselling/psychotherapy or equivalent
- registered with a professional body such as BACP or UKCP
- a minimum of 100 client contact hours

What you'll do
On the club you and a fellow volunteer will be paired with one of our members with a learning disability or autism. You'll support and encourage them to take part in a wide range of activities led by professional therapists and workshop leaders.
Our aim at a Kith & Kids’ club is that everybody has lots of fun in an environment in which our members feel safe and relaxed and can fully express themselves. We aim that our members receive 2:1 volunteer support. This helps ensure that the sessions have lots of energy and enthusiasm. It also gives new volunteers a chance to learn further support tips from experienced volunteers.
Our Weekend Clubs also allow our members to develop key skills and relationships in a fun, friendly and safe setting that is individually centred on their needs.
Workshops include music, drama, arts & crafts, sports & games and much more. We even enjoy trips out! Recently groups have attended swimming, museums, crazy golf, and bowling.
Not only is it a session full of fun and games for you and our members, but you are also a vital part in supporting them to develop their social skills in a day-to-day environment.

Our core activities are sports & games, arts & crafts, drama and music. Previous additional workshops have also included photography, football and cooking and you’ll plan your own exciting outing around London with a fellow volunteer and the Kith & Kids member you're linked with.
Not only is it a week full of fun and games for you and our members, you are a vital part in supporting them to develop their social skills in a day-to-day environment.

Our Employability Project
10am to 3pm, Monday and/or Friday during term-time
Our Employment & Life Skills Project (ELSP) helps adults with learning disabilities or autism to access further education, work experience and visits to mainstream community opportunities.
What you’ll do
You’ll act as a mentor to the members of the group. You’ll be helping the group(s) develop a range of life skills, things that many of us take for granted. These include Maths and English skills, independent living, the use of public transport, social skills and even the sourcing of employment.
For the people in these groups, these things can be very difficult to develop and achieve without regular support. Through regular support and meetings, members and volunteers develop greater trust, skills, and confidence together.

ELSP shop volunteers
Flexible timings, 4-hour time slots
We are currently looking for energetic and enthusiastic volunteers to join us in our boutique charity shop in Chingford, E4.
Volunteers have a fantastic opportunity to help shape our members work experience placements within the shop. You will support our members will all aspects of working in a charity shop, including using the till and customer service and spend time with them to review the skills they have learnt at the end of each shift.
What you'll do
At the shop you will be paired with one of our members with a learning disability or autism. You'll support and encourage them to complete the job/role they have been given for that specific day and encourage them to practice their social skills by interacting with the public in a polite and friendly manner.
You will also encourage them to work as part of a team and engage socially with staff and volunteers present in the shop. You will build their confidence and encourage them to take on new challenges.

Nova New Opportunities is an educational charity based near Ladbroke Grove. As we ease out of London, we are looking for volunteers to help on day trips in and around London to support families in getting back to normality again.
Trips will include anything from horse riding through to the beach, farms and Kew Gardens. This is an opportunity to help families from marginalised communities while gaining experience of working with a small, friendly and supportive charity.

We are looking for someone who has either professional or personal experience of finding permanent homes for vulnerable children who are unable to remain with their birth parents.

Or you may be an adopter who wants to bring their skills and experience. We are also particularly looking for individuals with expertise in the fields of Fundraising/Marketing /Health and Social Care.
Ideally, but not essential, it would be helpful to have experience of working in the voluntary sector. Whether you are an experienced Trustee or wanting to take the first step at Board level, if you share our ethos, we'd like to hear from you.
CCS Adoption is a Voluntary Adoption Agency. We find permanent, loving homes for children who have a plan for adoption, including those who tend to wait longest. We also provide a range of therapeutic packages to adopted children and their families; and a wide range of innovative support services for adoptive families, offering groups, activities, workshops and training for Adoptive families from The Centre. A cancer diagnosis brings extra expense from day one. Every child or young person with a cancer diagnosis has a short-term disability and needs to apply for Disability Living Allowance (DLA) or Personal Independence Payments (PIP). The forms are long and complex and sometimes families need advice or support to ensure they include enough information to receive the correct level of financial support.
Your empathy, understanding and ability to identify the key information to enable families and young people to claim financial assistance will have a tremendous impact easing stress and allowing them to concentrate on supporting themselves physically and emotionally.
You will be an important part of the team and provide practical support to young people and families completing DLA and PIP forms which can seem lengthy and daunting to young people, and families. Each family’s needs are different, however support via benefits such as DLA and PIP are usually one of the first recommendations made to families seeking financial advice.
What you’ll be doing:
- Providing face to face to support to families of children and young people with a diagnosis of cancer
- Actively listening to families and asking relevant questions to enable them to identify specific support needs
- Supporting families to complete complex forms to enable them to claim DLA or PIP
- As a key part of the team recognise when to ask for other team members for advice or support
This will include:
- Looking at the DLA/PIP form with the family or young person
- Explaining the information Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) needs
- Coaching the family to include as much detail in their answers as necessary
The practical support required for this role will vary from taking the time to read through an application with a young person or family, who require a second opinion. Others may require questions to be re-phrased to simplify them and make them more applicable to their lived experience.
You will be providing guidance on how to answer the questions on the forms and useful information to include. It may occasionally include filling in the form with the family/young person when they are not able to complete it themselves
Booking slots will be flexible to meet the individual need (30 minutes up to 2 hours)
There is scope and opportunity in this role for development into supporting families or young people with appeals.

We are a social enterprise dedicated to enhancing mental wellbeing. Our flagship service is The Teashop, which brings small groups of community members together to foster their mental wellbeing through an enjoyable activity with known mental health benefits, over a cup of tea.
Job Description:
As a Volunteer Events Assistant, you will have the opportunity to contribute to our mission by supporting in-person Teashop sessions. Each session brings together groups of up to 15 adults experiencing mild-to-moderate mental health symptoms, providing them with an enjoyable activity and an opportunity for connection in a supportive environment. We’ve offered dog therapy, art-making, yoga, and wellness discussions in the past.
Responsibilities:
- Create Eventbrite/Facebook/Instagram ads to draw new participants to future sessions.
- Assist with the setup and logistics of sessions for The Teashop service
- Travel to and support Teashop sessions by helping with materials, taking photos, and managing sign-in procedures, typically two sessions per month during weekends.
- Create engaging social media content to promote The Teashop sessions and build community awareness.
- If required, provide mental health first aid support by signposting and offering assistance to attendees in need.
- Collect feedback at the end of each session and input it into Excel spreadsheets.
Essential Criteria:
- 18+ years old
- Completed A-levels or equivalent
- Must possess a valid DBS check or be willing to have it done
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage time effectively during sessions
- Strong interpersonal skills and a passion for engaging with diverse communities
- Availability to volunteer two weekend days per month for in-person sessions
- Ability to travel to session locations within the designated area
- Proficiency in basic computer skills for data entry and social media management.
Desirable criteria:
- An undergraduate degree (BSc/BA)
- A valid driver's license and licensed vehicle to help transport materials
- Experience in customer service/administrative role

We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers for our amazing music, drama and dance groups in Weoley Castle. You will be encouraging our citizens to take part and ensure everyone has a great time.
What would I be doing?
Helping people to take part in various activities, including singing, dancing, creative music sessions and drama.
Encouraging people to feel part of the group and take part in the activities.
Helping to set up equipment and tidy away at the end of the session.
Helping to maintain a safe and welcoming environment.
What do I need?
· An interest in helping people, being approachable and friendly
· Any performance skills or interests would be amazing, but not essential.
· Good communication skills
· Accepting of others who might be different to you
· The ability to work as part of a diverse team
· A willingness to learn and work within guidelines set out by Midland Mencap
· Honesty, integrity and trustworthy
· Good time management skills, reliability
· An enhanced DBS check will be required by all successful applicants.

Suffolk Family Carers is an award winning organisation, recognised for innovation, leadership and partnership working and for being an excellent employer. For over 35 years Suffolk Family Carers has been helping family carers of all ages across Suffolk get the support they need to live fuller lives. We provide information, advice, guidance and advocacy to thousands of family carers each year.
Our understanding of family carers’ needs enables us to campaign on issues that affect them, to ensure their voices are heard. We will keep driving change across society to enable family carers to have a life of their own alongside their caring role.
We are now looking for an experienced and collaborative leader to take on the role of Chair of the Trustee Board.
About the role
The new Chair will be experienced, skilled and motivated and share our commitment to the individuals, communities and partners we work with. Your role will be to preside over the established Trustee Board and work closely in partnership with the Chief Executive to deliver our strategic aims.
The Trustee Board consists of the Chair, Treasurer and 7 other members. Board members are responsible for overall governance of the organisation, including oversight of its strategic direction and financial management.
Our existing Chair is stepping down in December 2024 which will allow a handover time with the new Chair.
In terms of time commitment, there are 5 board meetings per year, 2 development meetings and an AGM. Additionally the Chair will meet regularly, either in person or virtually, with the Chief Executive and other Trustees. This is an unpaid position but all reasonable expenses will be reimbursed.

If you have a passion for fashion (especially second-hand), amazing customer service skills and you are keen to learn new skills, then this opportunity is for you. As a volunteer you will also be involved in receiving, sorting, steaming, and pricing our lovely donations, serving at the till, and using your creativity to create displays around the shop. Training will be provided. As a volunteer, you will be helping to raise money for the Octavia Foundation and support the work we do in the local community.
