Urban Youth – Volunteer Treasurer (Accountant/Finance Director) Wanted
Help us build a youth charity that young Londoners will feel proud to call theirs — and help us make sure our finances are strong, safe and ready to grow.
We’re so excited to be launching Urban Youth — a brand new London youth work charity created to give young people experiences, opportunities, and the space to discover themselves and the world around them. This is a youth community built on care, creativity, belonging and real connection… and now we’re looking for someone brilliant to help us build the financial foundations that will carry us forward.
We’re searching for our first Treasurer — someone organised, financially confident, and excited to support a start‑up charity as it grows. Someone who loves numbers, loves clarity, and loves being part of a team working towards something bigger than themselves.
This isn’t a distant, formal board role. It’s collaborative, supportive and hands‑on. You’ll be working closely with our Founder & CEO and our Steering Committee to make sure Urban Youth is financially healthy, transparent and ready for the future.
What you’ll be helping us create
Together, you’ll help us build:
-
simple, clear financial systems that keep us safe and compliant.
-
budgets, forecasts and financial plans that support our growth.
-
transparent reporting that helps the team make good decisions.
-
the financial policies and procedures we need as a new charity.
-
strong foundations for fundraising, grants and long‑term sustainability.
-
a collaborative committee culture where everyone works together for the same goal.
This is more than a governance role — it’s a chance to help shape a youth movement from the ground up.
Who we’re looking for
Someone who:
-
is confident with numbers, budgeting and financial processes.
-
understands (or is willing to learn) charity finance and good governance.
-
enjoys creating simple, clear systems that everyone can follow.
-
can support the Founder & CEO with financial planning and decision‑making.
-
is reliable, collaborative and happy to work as part of a small, committed team.
-
wants to use their skills to make a real difference in London.
If you’re the kind of person who loves turning chaos into clarity and helping a new organisation feel steady and secure, you’ll fit right in.
What you’ll get
-
The chance to shape the entire financial foundation of a brand‑new youth charity.
-
A meaningful leadership role that directly impacts young people’s lives.
-
A collaborative, supportive team who genuinely value your time and expertise.
-
The joy of building something powerful, personal and full of heart.
-
Something that looks great on your CV and gives you real governance experience.
-
A reference for your contribution, after 6–8 months.
-
The knowledge that you helped create a youth movement that will outlast all of us.
If you’re excited by the idea of helping us build something bold, youth‑centred and financially strong, we’d love to hear from you. Come help us create the foundations of a charity that young people will connect with — and feel proud to be part of.
Let’s build something unforgettable together.
Let’s build Urban Youth.
