Join us this summer for a hands-on role promoting theatre, events, and community projects – no prior experience needed.

Marketing Intern (Summer Placement)
Location: YMCA Yorkshire Coast, Scarborough
Duration: Flexible over Summer 2025
Hours: Daytimes with some evenings (flexible to suit you)
Pay: Voluntary (we’ll cover your travel and other expenses)
Where: On site (we’ll provide a computer if needed)

From backstage theatre buzz to community campaigns, you’ll help tell our story, boost engagement, and see your work go live across social media, email, and beyond. It’s an ideal step for anyone thinking about careers in media, marketing, content, or design.

We’ll treat you like a real member of the team – because you will be one. Whether you're heading to uni, college, or figuring out your next steps, we’ll support you to build skills, confidence, and a great reference for whatever comes next.

You’ll be involved in:

• Creating posts, stories and reels for Instagram, Facebook etc

• Writing content for emails, blogs and posters

• Helping promote live theatre and music events

• Capturing photos and video behind the scenes

• Scheduling content and learning about campaign planning

• Supporting at events (including some evenings)

• Learning what works and what doesn’t – with real feedback

What we’re looking for:

• Someone who’s curious, creative, and up for learning

• Comfortable using social media

• A good communicator with basic IT skills

• Happy to work on site in Scarborough

• Reliable and ready to have a go

• Available for at least a few weeks during the summer

You don’t need loads of experience. You just need the interest. We’ll help with the rest.
