We’re looking for organised, reliable people to help keep our programmes running smoothly behind the scenes and on the ground. 

As a Programme Support Volunteer, you’ll help with the coordination and delivery of our community projects and activities. You’ll assist with planning, preparation, data collection and general support across our programmes to ensure everything runs efficiently and participants have a positive experience.

This is a varied and rewarding role for anyone who enjoys helping things run well and being part of a supportive, community-focused team.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Supporting the planning and coordination of programme activities and events

• Assisting with registration, attendance and record-keeping
• Collecting feedback and evaluation data to support monitoring and reporting

Youth Helpers also help young people develop their confidence, teamwork skills, self-discipline, and generally encourage them to strive to be the best they can be, as well as supervise and support other adult volunteers in their team.

Friends Without Borders (Portsmouth) CIO. The relief of immigrants, asylum seekers and refugees who are suffering hardship or distress or in need, particularly, but not exclusively, in the City of Portsmouth, by the provision of financial and other assistance and raising the awareness of the general public.

As the new Treasurer your role will be pivotal within our team and we are excited to learn from the unique skills you bring. Your contribution will help Friends Without Borders to flourish and grow and we are excited to welcome you into our dedicated team.

What will you be doing?

Now is an exciting time to join the Board of Trustees at Friends Without Borders. This role will allow you to put your professional skills to great use for the benefit of individuals who have had to flee their homes and livelihoods. It will also provide you with the opportunity to develop your insight and expertise into all aspects of managing a growing charity. 

The Treasurer is a voluntary role that ensures the financial health and accountability of Friends Without Borders. The role combines strategic oversight, advice and hands-on financial management. Between our Client Services Manager and volunteer Bookkeeper, spreadsheets relating to petty cash, income and expenditure are prepared. Our Treasurer will be responsible for payroll, pension payments and tax returns.

What are we looking for?

Essential

• Professional accounting or finance qualification, or equivalent experience.
• Experience with financial systems and controls, ideally but not essentially in a charity or small organisation.
• Understanding of budgeting, forecasting and long-term financial planning.

Desirable

• Familiarity with charity financial regulations, Gift Aid, restricted funds and statutory reporting.

Volunteering with us is an excellent opportunity to gain new skills and work experience, explore this beautiful area of mid Wales and the Snowdonia National Park, and meet a range of interesting and friendly new people all working together on solutions to the climate and biodiversity emergency.

In this exciting residential placement, you will learn sustainable woodland management practices through hands-on practical tasks, help support our off-grid water and sanitation systems and make improvements around site using our natural resources. You will learn how to apply a variety of woodland management techniques and woodworking skills to support biodiversity across CAT’s managed woodland spaces.

Volunteering with the CAT Water and Woodland team helps to provide beautiful, healthy, diverse and peaceful outdoor spaces for visitors, educational groups and CAT staff to learn from and enjoy.

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and inspiring Chair of the Board of Trustees to provide strategic leadership and governance for C360. As Chair, you will work closely with the Chief Executive to ensure the charity delivers its mission and objectives while championing our core values: Collaboration, Innovation, Resilience, Initiative, and Inclusion (CIRII).
 

The Chair also holds trustee responsibilities, ensuring Community360 operates within the law, maintains the highest standards of governance, and protects the charity’s reputation, assets, and beneficiaries.
 

Key Responsibilities
 

Strategic Leadership & Governance
 

• Lead the Board in providing clear strategic direction and oversight of C360’s activities, ensuring alignment with its vision and mission.
• Ensure the Board pursues its stated charitable objectives and maintains compliance with governing documents, charity law, and other regulations.
• Promote best practice in governance and foster a culture of accountability, openness, and integrity.
• Chair and facilitate Board meetings efficiently, promoting informed, constructive, and inclusive discussion and decision-making.
• Appraise and support the Chief Executive, including monitoring performance against agreed objectives and providing professional development opportunities.
• Oversee risk management, financial stability, and the effective use of the charity’s resources.
• Ensure proper policies and procedures are in place and followed, maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.

External Relations & Ambassadorship
 

• Act as an ambassador for C360, building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, partners, and the wider community.
• Represent the charity externally at events, meetings, and functions, promoting its mission and values.

Trustee-Level Duties
 

• Act in the best interests of C360, its beneficiaries, and the wider community at all times.
• Safeguard the charity’s assets, property, and financial integrity.
• Support the strategic development of key areas of C360 business using local knowledge, networks, and relationships.
• Act as a counter-signatory on cheques and applications for funding in accordance with financial procedures.

Required Skills & Qualifications
 

• Significant experience as a trustee, non-executive board member, or senior leadership role within a charity, social enterprise, or complex organisation.
• Strong strategic leadership skills with the ability to inspire, challenge, and support the Board and Executive.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with confidence in an ambassadorial role.
• Proven ability to foster collaboration, innovation, and resilience in teams.
• Knowledge of charity governance, finance, and regulatory requirements.

Experience
 

• Experience of working at a senior strategic level, chairing meetings, and leading organisational change.

As a Web and IT Support Volunteer, you’ll help us keep our website up to date, support digital record-keeping and assist with maintaining efficient systems that help us work effectively. You’ll play an important role in helping us stay connected, accessible and organised across our programmes.

This role is ideal for someone with an interest in IT, websites or digital operations who wants to make a practical contribution to community-focused work.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Updating website pages with new events, news and programme information
• Supporting the layout and accessibility of website content
• Uploading photos, articles or updates to digital platforms
• Helping staff and volunteers use digital tools
• Assisting with digital forms, data collection and record management

League Against Cruel Sports
Location: Remote, with one in-person Board meeting per year
Commitment: Approx. 1–2 days per month
Term: Three years (renewable for up to three consecutive terms)

Previous trustee experience is welcome but not essential – we value diversity of thought, background and experience.

Time commitment

• One in-person Board meeting per year and three virtual meetings, plus an Annual General Meeting.
• Additional engagement between meetings as needed (approximately 1–2 days per month).

Trustee positions are unremunerated, with reasonable expenses reimbursed.

At St John Ambulance, we are looking to develop our volunteering offer and become an even more integral part of our communities through delivering community first aid and education. 

We need people who have a passion for helping others, care about their communities and want to make a difference, supporting them to become safe and more resilient by sharing your first aid skills and knowledge. As a Community First Aider, you’ll deliver first aid to those in need through local events, as well as provide education to the public so that the ripple effect of First Aid grows.

Through supporting the growth of community partnerships, you will bring people along to our cause, growing our membership and fundraising base and spreading the message that First Aid Saves Lives.

While observing activity at an event through regular patrols, you could be involved in anything from providing first aid advice to providing lifesaving skills for a patient until the emergency services arrive.
