We are looking for a passionate and creative volunteer to assist in leading our Acrylic Painting sessions. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys art, has a keen interest in acrylic painting, and is enthusiastic about supporting others in their creative journey.

This group will run on Monday between 11am and 1pm!

What you will be doing

• Assist the session leader in setting up and organizing art materials before the session.
• Support participants with basic acrylic painting techniques, color mixing, and brushwork.
• Provide encouragement and guidance to attendees, helping them feel comfortable and inspired. independent activities
• Help maintain a clean and safe workspace by managing supplies and cleaning up after sessions.
• Assist with any administrative tasks, such as attendance tracking or taking photographs of completed artwork (if permitted).
• Ensure all health and safety guidelines are followed.

The skills you need

• Basic knowledge of acrylic painting techniques (formal training is not required but is a plus).
• Passion for art and creativity.
• Patience and good communication skills to assist participants of all skill levels.
• Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions from the session leader.
• Reliable, punctual, and willing to commit to regular sessions.
• No prior teaching experience is necessary, but a willingness to engage and support others is essential.

Are you a qualified Yoga Instructor who would enjoy facilitating weekly sessions to help individuals with their general well-being. This is an opportunity for you to share techniques with others.

Practicing yoga and mindfulness aim to quiet the mind in order to cultivate a deeper connection to and understanding of oneself. They both help with breathing techniques, pay attention to bodily sensations and learn to accept reality as it is in that moment. Mindfulness refers to focusing your attention on what you are experiencing in the present moment without judging yourself. Practicing yoga has been shown to increase mindfulness not just in class session, but in other areas of a person's life.

It is an opportunity to reflect on your own experiences and put it down on paper. Creative writing has been shown to improve emotional and mental well-being. Through creative writing, we can gain insight into our emotions, develop self-expression and communication skills, cultivate empathy and understanding of others, boost our imagination and creativity.

What you will be doing

• Lead and facilitate a weekly Creative Writing Group, encouraging participants to explore their thoughts and feelings through writing exercises, prompts, and storytelling.
• Guide a subsequent Feelings Forum where participants can share and discuss emotions sparked by the writing session or current experiences in a respectful and supportive atmosphere
• Foster an inclusive, non-judgmental environment where all voices are heard and valued
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to the organisation’s safeguarding and mental health protocols

These behind-the-scenes roles provide essential support in ensuring that those who we work with access the support they require to rebuild their lives beyond crisis

• To support with administration, and with meeting and greeting service users, and with building security.

• Support with answering phone calls and internal communication
• To support the team with covering the reception desk and dealing with enquiries from people arriving at the service/office.
