Bow Foodbank is proud to be a community solution to the problem of food insecurity in East London. Volunteers are involved in every area of foodbank life, from carrying out day-to-day tasks to supporting back office functions and governance of the Foodbank. This role is vital to make sure our volunteers have a positive experience and can contribute to our work.

You will support the Operations Manager in ensuring volunteers are equipped to come to our sessions and support the work of the foodbank. You will be responsible for managing every stage of the volunteer journey, from onboarding to providing feedback.

• · You will work with the trustees and senior team to ensure volunteers have a strong voice within the foodbank, 
• · You will be the volunteer platform super user, leading volunteer administration and record keeping.
• · You will be responsible for monitoring volunteer training, ensuring that volunteers are equipped to volunteer safely            and uphold  the values of Bow Foodbank as we interact with members of the community.
• · You will maintain the volunteer CRM and be the main point of contact with the platform provider.
• · You will roll out and maintain the Volunteer Handbook, ensuring all volunteers have access to Bow Foodbank                    Policies and  Procedures.
• · You will work with the Corporate and Community Manager to plan group volunteering sessions.
• · You will work with the Volunteer Wellbeing Lead to ensure volunteers have access to the same signposted                        services as our guests.
• · You will support volunteer communications and consultation (many of our volunteers have English as a second                  language).
• · You will work with the Operations Manager to set volunteer rotas.
• · Attend sessions to identify improvements that could be made to the volunteer experience.
• · Set up agreements for special volunteering projects, such as our Data Team or Period Champions.
• · Work with our ‘Social Squad’ (volunteer social team) to set up volunteer appreciation events.
• · Manage Volunteer expenses and petty cash.
• · Manage volunteer references and letters to other agencies.

Purpose of the Role:

Bow Foodbank is proud  to have developed a highly trusted relationship with our guests and the community. We are often the first point of call for people when they are starting to struggle financially. We want to use our trusted place in the community to support our guests with more than just food, helping to connect them into a wide range of services and community groups - aiming to help guests to build their resilience and move them away from the causes of poverty. This will be done by inviting specialist partners to offer their services at our centre, as well as training and overseeing our volunteers in signposting guests to services that will help them build their resilience. We want to do this in a way that builds dignity so will aim to follow up with them the impact of any referrals and how they have improved guest wellbeing. Our aim is to limit the length of time guests depend on any foodbank and increase the community’s access to support services and community groups.

This role will train and oversee the work of our volunteers in signposting guests to high quality services. They will be responsible for holding guest voice strategy and will feed into the senior leadership team the opinions of our guests so we can continually improve the service we offer them.

This role will build partnerships with organisations to create support pathways. We want to maximise use of our building by creating a support ‘marketplace’ inviting partners into the foodbank and increasing guest access to the broadest range of services.

Terms & Conditions

Place of work: Fully remote, with occasional 2/3 nights away for year-round events.

Salary: £35,000 – 40,000, dependent on experience

Micro Rainbow is looking for an Individual Giving Manager to create an individual giving and fundraising strategy for the organisation. In this newly created position, you will play a crucial role in nurturing relationships with individual supporters to make a difference to the lives of LGBTQI refugees and asylum seekers in the UK. As Individual Giving Manager you will be responsible for creating and implementing strategies to attract, retain, and upgrade Micro Rainbow’s allies (individual donors), ensuring a steady and growing stream of funding and contributing to the sustainability of Micro Rainbow.

This role will lead a small team of trainers who design and deliver training both under an existing curriculum and new developments as demand requires. The Skills Development Manager is responsible for a team who are developing a robust, diverse, inclusive and inspiring curriculum across the organisation. We are developing a large amount of new and exciting courses across a wide range of subjects, so we are open to individuals with a variety of experience. We are looking for a dynamic individual to take on the day-to-day running of the Digital Champions project and network. Digital Champions are volunteers who inspire and motivate others to get online, while encouraging and supporting them to develop their digital skills and confidence. As the project continues to evolve, there will be an increased focus on Digital Champions placed in local health care settings across the borough. Digital Champions will operate at local community venues including Community Pharmacies, Phlebotomy clinics, and at community events, with a strong focus on NHS App promotion to Bexley residents. This is an opportunity to be at the centre of an exciting, innovative partnership project, working closely with the statutory and voluntary sector partners in taking the scheme into a new phase of development. Key Duties:

• To be the first point of contact for the existing network of Digital Champions in the borough, and support organisations to recruit, onboard and manage new Digital Champions.
• To directly manage a pool of Digital Champions under BVSC and lead on recruitment, onboarding, and training.
• To organise regular online and face-to-face meetings for Digital Champions.
• To develop and implement a communications plan that raises awareness of the Digital Champions Network in Bexley and of the challenges and opportunities digital inclusion presents.
• To explore new opportunities with partners and the sector more broadly in a way that aims to expand the digital champions project and create a more digitally inclusive culture for Bexley residents.
• To organise regular events, training and information sessions for Digital Champions based on needs.
• To collect data and write reports on the project for presentation to partnership committees and health and wellbeing boards.
• To represent Bexley Digital Champions at London-wide and national forums and conferences.

We need an events manager who is adept at managing projects and events, working with our fundraisers and encouraging our supporters to get involved in our events such as our annual trek, the prestigious Care Sector Ball, and all the other events we’re involved in. The right person will have the confidence and persistence it takes to persuade, cajole, prod and encourage fundraisers to do as much as they can to raise funds for us. You need to be proficient at managing the admin that goes with events, including using fundraising platforms such as Just Giving and Enthuse to engage with fundraisers and provide regular reports on the income raised. We will also need you to organize hotel, travel, conference arrangements for the team.

You must be based in England, to help us keep travel costs down as much as possible. The role is home based, with travel to fundraising events, conferences and network meetings, and with travel every 10 weeks or so to central London for team meetings.

 You must be a determined self-reliant professional though also a team player, to effectively coordinate and execute events and other activities, and be passionate about events management and fundraising to enable us to raise as much money as possible for the charity.

Reporting to the CEO and sitting within the senior management team, you will lead a team that brings older people and volunteers into our organisation.   Making full use of technology and building strong relationships with our volunteers, you’ll deliver volunteer-led services that help make life less lonely for thousands of older people each year.   

Key responsibilities

Leadership 

• Create a high performing team culture that’s ambitious and passionate about Re-engages vision for older people. 
• Contribute to the organisation’s strategic direction and play an active role in operational and budget planning for both the charity as a whole and the Service Delivery department.

• Oversee and manage operations to provide a seamless service to volunteers and older people throughout their time with Re-engage from recruitment to departure.

• Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead and lead contact for safeguarding for the board of trustees.  Ensure that safeguarding is at the heart of our work, implementing robust safeguarding principles and practices. 
• Harness technology to create high quality, efficient, consistent, person-centred experiences for older people and volunteers. 
• Ensure volunteers receive appropriate, interactive and engaging volunteer training. 
• Work with Engagement and Fundraising teams to ensure delivery of commitments to funders, setting appropriate targets for team members.
• Work with the Communications and Impact teams to develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer communication strategy, based on what volunteers want and need from Re-engage to support their volunteering.
