Ashinaga UK is recruiting a Programme Coordinator to support the delivery of the Ashinaga Africa Initiative leadership development programme for African Scholars studying in the UK. As part of a mission-driven global organisation, the coordinator will play a key role in ensuring smooth programme operations, student support, and administrative excellence throughout the annual Scholar cycle. This role is ideal for someone who is organised, proactive, and passionate about helping young leaders thrive. The coordinator will work closely with the Programme Manager to streamline processes, support events, maintain essential systems, and strengthen the overall Scholar experience across the year. 

The Ashinaga movement was founded in Japan in the 1960s and has since expanded across the globe, empowering over 120,000 orphaned youth with access to education and support to achieve their full potential. The Ashinaga Africa Initiative was launched 11 years ago with the aim of equipping future leaders for Africa through undergraduate scholarships and leadership development opportunities. Ashinaga UK is proud to be part of this global movement, contributing to the mission of transforming lives and communities through education. Programme Coordinator

• Location: Remote. Candidates must be willing to travel regularly for programme activities and team meetings. 
• Contract: Full-time, Monday to Friday with occasional work on weekends or evenings. 
• Hiring Date: February 2025 (Initial 12-month contract with the possibility of renewal). 
• Salary: £30,000 - £32,000 dependent on candidate’s experience.

Key Responsibilities

Programme Coordination & Operations 

• Support the end-to-end delivery of Ashinaga UK’s annual programme cycle (including university preparation camps, inductions, monthly calls, workshops, summits, and graduation activities). 
• Deliver administrative logistics, schedules, venues, travel arrangements, and programme communications. 
• Coordinate speaker invitations, facilitator briefs, and session materials. 
• Track Scholar attendance, progress and compliance across the year. 
• Draft Scholar-facing policies to support effective delivery of the programme. 

Scholar Support 

• Support Scholars in their academic, personal and professional development through the AAI leadership framework, including check-ins, coaching and progress tracking. 
• Assist in the development, organisation, and delivery of student support programming such as leadership events, workshops, and one-on-one coaching call logistics.
• Support Scholars as they develop their Ashinaga Proposal social impact projects. 

Data & Systems Management 

• Maintain programme records, databases, and reporting tools (including through our Scholar App, CRM, and internal systems). 
• Support the Programme Manager in monitoring programme KPIs and documenting insights. 

Communication 

• Write articles, Scholar profiles, and programme updates for use on the Ashinaga UK website, newsletters, and external reports. 
• Create multimedia content (photos, short videos, social media material) to showcase Scholar stories and impact

As a senior community fundraiser, you’ll be an important part of the team building Breast Cancer Now’s presence in Scotland, with a particular focus on Edinburgh and the surrounding areas.

Primary location of role

The Principal Regulatory Lawyer will lead responsibility for the provision of legal advice to the wider Trust on all aspects of Regulatory law as it affects the Trust, including health and safety law, environmental and reservoirs regulation.

Location & coverage

The position will be offered on a remote working basis, with a requirement to attend our main hub spaces on occasion for meetings.

Key Accountabilities:

• Lead strategic advisor on all aspects of health and safety law and management, providing advice across and at all levels of the organisation (including the Executive and the Board) on legal risk and compliance.
• Advising the Trust on compliance with health and safety law in respect of colleague (employee and volunteer) safety
• Supporting the Senior Environment Lawyer, providing legal advice on all aspects of environmental and reservoirs regulatory compliance, including environmental permits, abstraction licensing, reservoirs, and wildlife protections.
• Managing the Trust’s response to incidents leading to enforcement action by a regulator.
• Providing legal advice on a fit for purpose approach in respect of the management of health and safety risks of  public use of the Trust’s inland waterway network
• Supporting the development of Trust health and safety policy and processes, including risk assessment, reporting and investigations, 
• Advising the Trust’s Health & Safety team on regulatory aspects of health and safety law, assisting in responding to coroners reports, inquests and HSE enquires, notices and enforcement action

 Marketing and Communications

• Plan, coordinate and deliver integrated marketing and fundraising campaigns and events to achieve income targets, ensure consistent messaging and strengthen supporter engagement across all channels.
• Work closely with the global communications team to deliver the organisation’s marketing and communications strategy in alignment with global objectives.
• Manage website content in WordPress, ensuring it is accurate, engaging, and regularly updated.

Preferred requirements

Experience

• At least eight years’ experience in marketing, communications, or a related field.

KEY PURPOSE:

We are seeking to appoint a Finance Manager, who will be integral to supporting the charity through an exciting period of change and development. This is a new role, and the successful applicant will have the opportunity to refine the role.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Preparation of monthly Management Accounts, including stock returns.
• Prepare key account reconciliations and review those carried out by the Finance team to ensure completeness.
• Preparing Gift Aid returns.
• Administrating RABI’s payment providers.
• Administering legacies in conjunction with the Fundraising Department.
• Management of payroll.
• Administration of VAT returns for the Trading Subsidiary.
• Reviewing and authorising weekly payment runs.
• Documenting processes and procedures.
• Liaise with other departments as required, with particular reference to County Committees.
• Provide cover for the Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable administrators when required.
• Day-to-day administration of the Finance System.

Listening Books is a charity that provides an excellent audiobook lending service to people whose illness, disability, specific learning difficulty or mental health condition impacts on their ability to read the printed word. Our audiobook catalogue contains over 10,000 titles and reaches over 100,000 members across the UK. We believe that books should be accessible to everyone. The successful candidate will be responsible for buying and processing all new titles for our catalogue and regularly liaising with publishers to maintain our excellent relationships with them, ensuring all our contracts and paperwork remains up-to-date. The candidate will be responsible for both the administrative and technical aspects of adding new titles to our catalogue via our download platform, OverDrive Inc. Training will be given but a high level of computer literacy is essential. The candidate will also be responsible for managing the budget for titles and must have previous experience of handling basic budgets.

We can offer flexible working arrangements, including remote, office-based, or hybrid options for the right candidate. There is also some flexibility in how hours are distributed across the week; however, we would prefer that a portion of the hours be worked on Thursday or Friday.  A salary of £28,000 per annum (pro-rata) and a matched contribution pension scheme up to 8% of salary, following successful completion of the probation period.

The Finance and Administrative Assistant will provide essential support across three main areas: finances, events and training. Role Description

The purpose of the Executive Assistant role is to provide administrative, organisational and coordination support to the Executive Team, ensuring their time and attention are aligned with organisational priorities, goals, and objectives. Part Time (0.6) - £27,675 FTE 

As the Alumni Officer, you will be someone who enjoys working with young people and is passionate about supporting them to progress to vibrant degrees and careers in STEM. The post holder will have strong knowledge and understanding of the barriers facing young people from low socioeconomic backgrounds accessing STEM education and careers across the UK.

The Alumni Officer will deliver the continuation of support for hundreds young people who complete the In2STEM programme every year, supporting them with continued support throughout year 13/S6 as they progress to post FE education, apprenticeships and training, and providing long term careers opportunities.

The post holder will be an organised and motivated self-starter who thrives in the face of change, enjoys creative problem solving, working in a team and can achieve deadlines on a tight timescale.

In2scienceUK is a remote-based organisation, that requires occasional travel across the UK for events, internal & external meetings and staff co-working days.

Your specific duties will include:

• Evaluate existing alumni activities to recommend and implement improvements and new initiatives to support the delivery of a high quality programme experience to support In2STEM alumni, aligning with learning objectives, feedback and our theory of change.

• Develop and deliver engaging alumni communications e.g. newsletters & email updates, to keep In2STEM alumni informed of news, opportunities and events.

• Plan, organise and support the delivery of online workshops aligned to support In2STEM alumni progression milestones. 

• Maintaining up to date alumni records, in accordance with data protection, as well as working closely with the Data, Impact and Evaluation Manager to evaluate In2STEM participant progression.

• Support with the collection and creation of case studies and alumni stories to promote alumni achievements and strengthen the community.

• Support the planning and delivery of organisational in-person events e.g. celebration days/conferences.

• Work closely with the In2STEM programme and fundraising teams to ensure funder requirements are met.
