Main responsibilities:

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

• At least one year of experience in direct one-to-one support work with adults with mental health diagnosis or other vulnerable people including providing emotional and practical support 
• An experienced caseworker who can provide tailored support for a diverse range of people and has excellent assessment, motivational and empowerment skills
• Experience of working cooperatively and effectively in a team
• PC literate (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• High level of cultural competency and awarenss of cultural differences and the ability to work in diverse settings and with people with diverse needs.
• Knowledge and skills to operate within a trauma-informed approach.
• Ability to provide non-judgemental, non-directive, person-centred and confidential support to members in crisis
• A clear understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures
• Ability to break down objectives/tasks to manageable components and maximise the potential for member participation
• Understanding of and commitment to the principles of social inclusion
• Understand and be able to implement the Equality Act and GDPR

JUSTICE is looking to recruit an Interim Head of Governance and Operations to join our friendly, values-led team. This is a fixed term post for 12 months (maternity cover) and provides an exciting opportunity for someone who has experience of governance and operational management. 

We are looking for an individual who has an interest in the purpose of the charity (to improve the UK justice system so that it is fair and within everyone’s reach), as well as a keen interest in taking responsibility for a diverse and wide range of tasks from providing and overseeing the secretariat functions related to our governance and risk as well as leading in important cross-cutting areas such as audit, budget management and providing HR support. This role will really suit someone who enjoys working with people, is comfortable with a degree of autonomy and who thrives in a role where no two days are the same. 

This role plays a central role in the workings of the organisation including with our Policy Team, our Comms Team and our Development Team. They also join Senior Management Team meetings and all Board and Committee meetings. The role currently line manages one direct report but this may be increased to two and reports into and works closely with the Chief Executive. This role also leads on the relationships with our accountants (who deliver our financial management and accounting functions) and other external contractors. 

JUSTICE is a law reform and human rights organisation, working to improve processes and policies to support everyone, particularly marginalised groups, be able to seek justice or a remedy when their rights have been breached or the law has been broken. The ideal candidate will have solid experience delivering housing management services within supported accommodation or housing associations. They must have a proven track record in line managing or supervising staff and demonstrate strong expertise in rent collection and arrears management. It is essential that they have worked with people who have complex needs, such as mental health challenges, experiences of domestic abuse, or homelessness. The ideal candidate must have a good understanding of housing law, tenancy and licence agreements, and rent recovery procedures. They should also be knowledgeable about Housing Benefit, Universal Credit, and entitlements for individuals with No Recourse to Public Funds (NRPF). Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills are essential, along with effective written and verbal communication abilities. The candidate must be IT literate and experienced in using housing management systems. This is an exciting opportunity in the Westminster Outreach and Befriending Service for a Family and Volunteer Support Worker to deliver family support and volunteer peer service to families and children under the age of 5, new parents and their families, across the London Borough of Westminster.

Our new Memory Café project aims to support dementia patients and their carers by providing a welcoming space for social and recreational activities. The Café will offer dementia friendly activities (including karaoke, bingo, arts/crafts and immersive theatre/dance shows) to empower dementia patients to enjoy regular social, cognitive and physical activities.

Alongside supporting patients, the Memory Café will create a highly supportive environment for carers. This will enable carers to take some 'time out' while remaining nearby in a safe space where both carers and patients can socialize more widely. Furthermore, the Café will provide access to information about relevant local services, ensuring comprehensive support for all attendees.

We are also providing a dementia care-worker who will support the Memory Café manager and enable us to support a broad range of dementia patients and their carers.

About the role

We are looking for an ambitious Programme Manager with extensive experience of new business development within the non-profit sector, strong knowledge of project management tools, a belief in collaborative working, and a positive and big-picture outlook. The Role
Reporting to the Head of Commercial Support and Governance, the role works alongside the Fundraising Supporter Services and Standards Manager, Retail Operations Manager and Retail Support & Projects Manager. As the UK’s leading university access organisation, our staff team is helping thousands of young people each year. We have forty-three centres and extension projects across England and Scotland, with plans to scale-up our provision further over the coming years.

We are looking for someone to take up an important role in our safeguarding team as a Safeguarding Manager. This role will be crucial in supporting our delivery team to safeguard the young people we work with and help ensure that IntoUniversity provides a safe environment for all of our young people at all times.

The role at a glance

Contract:

This is a permanent role. Part-time, 4 days a week (0.8 FTE). We would be open to discussing the possibility of a full time role with the successful candidate - responsibilities would be adjusted proportionally in this case.

Mon and Thurs: 09:30-18:00
Tues, Weds, Fri: 09:00-17:30

We’re happy to discuss your preference for the non-working day but we would like the successful candidate to work on Fridays. You will also be able to work from home one day a week. (Some out-of-hours work will be required from time to time - for example, out of hours safeguarding phone cover for an enrichment event or residentials).

Could be based in one of the following IntoUniversity centres:

Birmingham, Bradford, Bristol, Clacton, Coventry, Great Yarmouth, Hull, Leeds, Leicester, London, Manchester, Middlesbrough, Norwich, Nottingham, Southampton, Weston-Super-Mare (with occasional travel around the IntoUniversity network as required)

Salary

£35,500 per annum FTE (£28,400 pro rata). This will rise to £36,400 per annum FTE (£29,120 pro rata) from 1st September 2025.

London based candidates will also receive £2,600 London contribution (pro rata). The pro-rated amount is £2,080. This will rise to £2,700 (pro rata) from 1st September 2025. The pro-rated amount will be £2,160.

Annual leave 

Full-time staff entitlement, pro-rated for part-time staff: 33 days (inc bank & public holidays) + 3 closure days (two in December and one in July) + additional length of service entitlement (one day per year of service, up to 5 days) 

In order to be eligible for the role, applicants must:

• Have achieved a grade C/ grade 4 or higher in GCSE Maths and English/ achieved National 5s or Standard Grade at Credit level (grades 1-2) in Maths and English (or equivalent).
• Have previous experience of working with children or young people in a safeguarding capacity.
• Have a secure knowledge of key legislation and statutory guidance on safeguarding and promoting the  welfare of children.
• Have the right to work in the UK (please note that as a charity we do not have the capacity to sponsor work visas).

Job Purpose

Here's what the team will be looking for:

The ideal candidate will be highly literate and numerate, with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. They will have a strong track record in developing and delivering individual giving and donor stewardship campaigns, as well as managing complex, cross-team projects and leading people, whether through formal line management or working with volunteers.

The aim is to support young people to gain and develop the necessary skills for independent living and to manage transitions from Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services to Adult Mental Health Services.

Together, these services support up to 12 young people at any one time, offering a welcoming, supportive environment on a spot-purchase basis.

The successful candidate will deputise for the Service Manager when required. This includes direct line management, leadership, coaching, and supporting Specialist Support Workers, Support Workers, and Waking Night Support Workers. Responsibilities also involve ensuring compliance with current legislation, contractual requirements, financial regulations, and Look Ahead's Policies and Procedures.

The role of Deputy Manager will involve five 8-hour shifts, Monday to Friday.
