The role of Community Stewardship Manager (Sooty Volunteers) will help to improve the lives of blind and partially sighted people by managing relationships with our amazing team of volunteer fundraisers who deliver RNIB's Sooty box programme across the UK.

Sooty has been the face of RNIB's charity collection boxes for over 50 years, collecting more than £13 million in public donations.

New Horizon Youth Centre runs a busy day centre from Monday to Friday, providing basic needs to young people experiencing homelessness and a one-stop-shop for housing advice, youth work activities, counselling, jobs, education and training support. The Services Manager (Day Centre) is a brand new role for the organisation. They will work as part of the existing Youth Work Team to provide vital additional capacity and expertise to respond to the significantly increased demand we have been experiencing. This role is primarily focused on delivering our frontline day centre service each week. About the role

Our Surrey Volunteer Recruitment Manager (VRM) works closely with VRMs in Herts and London and our marketing team to promote the MCR programme to organisations and individuals.  The purpose is to recruit committed volunteers who will mentor a young person in their school for one hour a week during term time. Based from home, our VRMs work closely with the wider MCR team ensuring a balance of autonomy and support. Travel to meetings, events and the Hertfordshire office are all reimbursed.

The role of the Volunteer and Infrastructure Officer is to support the Volunteer and Infrastructure Team Lead within the Voluntary and Community Support team providing high quality information, support and expertise in infrastructure support opportunities available to groups and organisations within Shropshire.

They will promote volunteering and encourage new volunteers to come forward for the benefit of Shropshire groups, organisations and communities. Part of our Equity, Inclusion & Culture Directorate, the Volunteering team is passionate about the positive impacts of volunteering for both individuals and organisations. Collaborative and supportive, we believe that volunteers are a vital part of our growing movement for change. We support the mobilisation of volunteers to deliver Shelter’s strategic priorities and provide the infrastructure and insight that enables that mobilisation.

We’re a fast-moving team, working to support corporate volunteering operations and develop innovative ways to involve corporate volunteers that allows us to tap into their skills, expertise and time.

Corporate Volunteering is key to helping us win and maintain high value partnerships. We have successfully developed and extended long-term, sector-leading partnerships with companies including HSBC UK, B&Q, M&S and Network Rail across England and Scotland. These partnerships are an essential part of Shelter’s income and we work closely with the Corporate Partnerships Team to do this.

About the role

This is an exciting role within the Volunteering Team. You’ll have responsibility for designing and piloting Shelter’s financial resilience volunteer programme in Leeds as well as supporting our nationwide volunteering programme. We’ll rely on you to use best practice volunteer management to design and pilot volunteering journeys from attraction, recruitment and training all the way through to ongoing support and exit. You’ll also be leading on evaluating the pilot and adapting our approaches based on learnings. The role involves collaborating with key stakeholders not only across Shelter but with our financial corporate partners to implement a volunteer programme that equips our volunteers to deliver their roles independently, whilst also having the biggest impact. Monitoring the contribution of volunteering activity, you’ll ensure our volunteers are recognised, celebrated, and feel valued for the part they play.

You will work closely with colleagues throughout our Volunteering Team to implement Shelter’s volunteering strategy   and contribute to a consistent and quality experience for our Volunteer’s by developing new resources and processes that we can implement on a national scale. Working with the Corporate Volunteering Administrator, you’ll help utilise the volunteer database and report on data to evidence impact.  And where relevant, you’ll seek to build co-production into ways of working so that people with lived experience of homelessness and bad housing are at the heart of what we do.

About you

With experience of leading the successful development of volunteering projects and solid volunteer management experience, you will be passionate about volunteering, with an excellent understanding of what makes a quality volunteer experience. You will have demonstrable experience of applying best practice principles to volunteering, to succeed, you’ll need experience of using innovative approaches to planning new volunteering activities and the processes that support them.

You’ll be capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously, including identifying conflicting demands and establishing clear priorities to meet agreed objectives. Your great communication skills include an ability to influence and negotiate with a variety of stakeholders at all levels. What’s more, you’ll be confident creating and delivering high-quality presentations both online and in-person. You’ll be experienced in managing the specific approaches needed when involving corporate volunteers as opposed to non-corporate volunteers.

We are looking for the right person to lead the evolution of CALP’s fundraising. The role combines strategic leadership, internal and external coordination, and lots of hands-on development of funding applications, reports and much more. It's a pivotal role, helping to ensure the financial sustainability of CALP.

The role holder will manage and cultivate strong relationships with donors and members of the network, including the funding teams in our host organisations through whom funding flows. They will lead in identifying new funding opportunities and sustaining effective relationships with existing donors. This includes the development of consistently high-quality proposals and reports, whilst also ensuring compliance with contractual requirements. The role involves work across the whole CALP team, serving as an expert for CALP on strategic fundraising and donor relations.

Working as part of a globally dispersed team, this position is UK based and open to applicants with existing right to work in the UK. The role can be home based anywhere in the UK or work from an office in Oxford.

The Role:

The Donor Relations Manager leads and develops CALP’s fundraising strategy and activities to enable CALP to finance its overall strategy. The role holder manages and cultivates healthy relationships with donors and network members, and shares compliance responsibilities depending on contractual requirements. This role has strong inter-relations within realms of strategy, programmes, operations, planning and monitoring, and serves as an expert for the CALP team on strategic fundraising and donor relations.

Essential Technical Skills, Experience & Knowledge 

• Degree or equivalent qualification in an appropriate technical field, or equivalent level of professional experience.
• Significant, proven experience of generating substantial funding including proven ability to develop funding strategies, plan effectively and deliver complex funding applications and donor reports.
• High level experience and knowledge of key humanitarian and development donors such as: ECHO, BHA/USAID, GFFO, FCDO and European government donors.
• Knowledge and experience of working with consortium-based funding.
• Proven strategic design and management skills including good programme development ability and proven knowledge of M&E at project and programme levels.
• Significant experience with budgeting, financial reporting, including managing and reporting on complex programme budgets.
• Ability to develop and manage complex relationships.
• Proven experience of funding management systems/databases.
• Very strong conceptual and analytical skills, including excellent facilitation, negotiation, and influencing skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English - report writing, and presentation skills, including the ability to present complex issues clearly and concisely and to motivate and persuade at high levels.
• Diplomacy, good interpersonal skills and ability to remain calm under pressure while not losing sight of strategic priorities.
• Proven initiative, flexibility and ability to prioritise and work to tight deadlines across multiple time zones.

We are looking to recruit a Family Services Practitioner to assist with the provision of our whole family holistic approach and to support parents and children in our Family service through a mixture of outreach support and the delivery of a range of learning and play activities. This is an exciting role in our Family Services team that will plan and support safe, creative, inclusive, and appropriate play and learning opportunities and assist in the planning and provision of practical help and emotional support to families experiencing short- or long-term housing and/or financial insecurity. The role is pivotal in reaching the Centre’s goal of helping children and families achieve improved long-term outcomes, greater resilience, and wellbeing.  

Please note that this role requires flexibility to allow for changes to the weekly rota to meet the needs of our clients. During term time, the Family Centre is open on Saturdays and will require some Saturday working. The work pattern rotates from Tuesday – Saturday or Monday – Friday. During the school holiday periods, our programme changes and we do not open on Saturdays. You will therefore work Monday-Friday during these periods.
