Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy is a muscle wasting condition for which there is no cure, but we journey alongside communities to empower them and provide information for them to make informed decisions. Main Purpose of the Role: 

To provide proactive, emotional, and practical support to families and individuals affected by Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) across England. The role will focus on early engagement, wellbeing assessment, community building, and delivery of workshops and events, while ensuring accurate tracking of support outcomes and data.   
  
The successful candidate will also lead on support for our End of Life and Bereavement projects, working collaboratively with healthcare professionals, palliative care teams, and hospices to ensure families have access to appropriate services and resources. 

Specific Tasks: 

1. Proactive Family Support  

• Initiate contact with newly registered families within agreed timeframes (email within 3 working days, call within 7–10 working days)  

• Contact to be made to all registered Action Duchenne members, knows to us in the Regions you will be covering, to ensure the current support offer is clear   

• Provide ongoing support tailored to individual needs, including emotional wellbeing, physical health, housing, financial security, self-esteem and respect, decision-making, social engagement, quality of life, and access to care  

• Use the Action Duchenne Assessment Form and Action Plan to identify and respond to areas of concern  

2. Advanced and End-of-Life Care Support 

• Provide compassionate, practical, and emotional support to children, young people, and adults living with Duchenne, and their families, as they navigate advanced stages of the condition and end-of-life care. 

• Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals, palliative care teams, and hospices to ensure families have access to appropriate services and resources. 

• Develop and share guidance, resources, and workshops to help families prepare for and manage advanced care planning, symptom management, and emotional wellbeing. 

• Support families in understanding available options for care settings (home, hospice, hospital) and facilitate informed decision-making. 

• Ensure continuity of care and communication between multidisciplinary teams, while respecting family preferences and cultural considerations. 

• Offer signposting to bereavement support and follow-up services for families after loss. 

3. Wellbeing Tracking and Outcome Measurement  

• Administer wellbeing questionnaires and record scores across key domains (e.g. physical health, emotional wellbeing, financial security)  

• Collaborate with families to co-create action plans and track progress  

• Ensure all data is entered into CRM (E-Tapestry or similar) within the allotted timeframe, i.e. immediately after or during the call.  

4. Community Engagement and Event Delivery  

• Organise and deliver regional meetups (minimum one per quarter)  

• Facilitate support groups (virtual and in-person) for parents, young people, and extended family (minimum one per quarter)  

• Support delivery of workshops and events aligned with programme schedule (e.g. music, life skills, employability)  

• Actively participate in networking events to promote Action Duchenne within our communities, build relationships, and drive growth in membership by encouraging registration of families affected by Duchenne 

5. Stakeholder Collaboration  

• Liaise and develop relationships with external organisations including NHS care advisors and clinics, local authorities, counselling services, and other charities  

• Represent Action Duchenne in across your regions and build relationships with local networks  

6. Administration and Reporting  

• Maintain accurate records of all interactions and support provided  

• Contribute to quarterly reporting on activity delivery, capacity utilisation, and family impact  

• Support development of CRM processes and service delivery improvements  

7. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):  

• New contact acknowledgement email: within 3 working days

• New contact follow-up call: within 7–10 working days 

• Families contacted per week: 12–15 hours of direct contact

• Regional meetups: 1 per quarter

• Support groups delivered: 9–12 per year

• CRM data entry: within the same day of interaction

• Family outcomes tracked: via wellbeing questionnaire and action plan

This three-year, volunteer-led programme, funded by The National Lottery Community Fund has achieved significant success in its first eighteen months. We are now recruiting a new postholder to take this strong foundation forward through the next phase of delivery. 

Over the past eighteen months, we have recruited and established a thriving network of volunteers and local groups across England. This momentum is expected to continue. The Community Development Officer will work closely with existing volunteers and groups, primarily remotely, while also attending in-person events and meetings in different parts of England as needed. 

The postholder will lead the ongoing recruitment, training, and support of volunteer groups, working with them to identify opportunities for local outreach and engagement. About the role

The BDFA, founded in 1998 is the only patient organisation in the UK for families affected by Batten disease, a rare and terminal neurodegenerative condition that affects children and young adults. The BDFA offers informed guidance and support to families and the professionals who work with them, as well as actively raising awareness, and promoting research into the management of Batten disease to improve patient care pathways and ultimately find a cure.

We’re looking for an individual who has some experience in fundraising, particularly leading on all aspects of community fundraising, developing and nurturing relationships with volunteer fundraising groups and individual supporters. The successful candidate will work under the guidance of our CEO to develop community fundraising maximising the funds raised by volunteer fundraisers and developing supporter engagement. The successful candidate will also work alongside our Trusts and Foundations Fundraising Officer to support our Trusts and Foundations income generation.

- Experience in all aspects of community fundraising including events, assisting fundraisers to develop imaginative fundraising ideas and inspiring new supporters to raise funds whilst maintaining relationships with existing supporters

Role overview

City of Trees is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Engagement Officer to develop and manage volunteer experience and consultation at City of Trees’ new tree nursery. The nursery is the first stage of the development of this new City of Trees site and future National Urban Forestry Centre.

This is a brand-new post to help develop an outreach programme and activity plan to engage the local community and stakeholders to help shape this ambitious and exciting project in its development stage. We are seeking someone who is experienced in community consultation principles and techniques to help develop an activity plan during this development stage. Having recently settled into our new identity and expanding the portfolio of programmes we have on offer, this role will work closely with our Business Development team, Admin team and Quality Assurance team to ensure that our existing delivery centres are sufficiently supported to forge a sustainable leadership pathway.

We’re looking for someone to adopt a consistent relationship management process to support all staff at existing delivery centres and to on-board new centres. Organisation and efficiency, along with a clear communication style and an ability to effectively manage data are essential skills for this role. This role necessitates that the successful candidate be creative with their ideas to enable the successful relationship management of our centres, while also effectively handling phone calls, emails and queries via an online live chat function.

Role Purpose:

1. Provide appropriate support to centres when they contact the Leadership Skills Foundation.
2. Establish consistent and robust engagement and relationship management practices including logging touch points and interpreting data with a variety of our customers.
3. Respond to centre enquiries, help resolve technical issues and potential issues to delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide personalised support via effective relationship management strategies to support customers with any queries and issues across the customer journey in line with the Customer Experience Strategy.
• Proactively seek opportunities to create and maintain strong working relationships with centres that seek support from the organisation via central communication channels (phone, emails and live chat).
• Provide proactive and customised centre outreach that constantly seeks to elevate the experience of existing centres including recording accurate and timely customer intelligence.
• Resolve programme/service issues, troubleshoot challenges and support centres that are having difficulty accessing resources, registering their course(s) and/or learners.
• Support centres as they work through various policies and procedures. For example, the maintain and withdrawal procedures.
• Support Business Development strategies to meet agreed objectives and budgets.
• Utilise insight and reporting systems (various) to provide analysis and updates in relation to learner registrations and other centre insight metrics.
• Ensure sales planning, pipeline and forecasting exercises are completed on a regular basis, including annual budgeting to maximise learner and programme registration opportunities.
• Any other centre-facing tasks that need completing at various times of the year.
• To carry out any other duties as requested to support the work of the Leadership Skills Foundation commensurate with the grade and level of responsibility of the post, for which the post holder has the necessary experience and/or training.

About This Job

This is an exciting training role in Army Cadet Headquarters responsible for the coordination, development and implementation of strategic training policy across the Army Cadets.

We are looking for a training professional to bring their skills, enthusiasm, and personal credibility to the team and lead on the training governance, strategic policy, and implementation of training requirements across both our volunteer staff and employed workforce.

This role is key to ensuring Army Cadets training meets the governance requirements of the MOD, and follows required process and procedure, whilst forging its own dynamic and flexible youth training policies to meet the needs of a modern youth organisation.

This position is a permanent full-time post (40 hours per week) which will be office based in Cadets Branch, HQ Regional Command in Aldershot, however significant homeworking will be permitted.  The starting salary for the post will be £32,600 per annum.

The Combined Cadet Force Association (CCFA) is a charity dedicated to the promotion of the ideals and activities of the Combined Cadet Force in schools. We are seeking a proactive and creative Senior Events Fundraising Officer to join our dynamic team on a permanent basis.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about events fundraising and eager to take ownership of a diverse portfolio.
