About the Role

The Refugee and Migrant Centre is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Family Support Worker to join our Resettlement Department. As part of our mission to assist refugees and migrants in overcoming barriers to integration, this role will play a key part in helping newly arrived refugees settle into their new communities with confidence and independence.

RMC is a well-established charity with over 25 years of experience working with vulnerable refugees and migrants. We provide a range of services, including immigration advice, housing support, welfare assistance, and employment guidance. Our work ensures that refugees and migrants receive the necessary support to become equal citizens in the UK.

Purpose of the Role

The Family Support Worker will support newly arrived refugees and their families, enabling them to navigate the complex challenges of settling into the UK. Working closely with our multi-skilled resettlement team, you will deliver holistic support to refugees across a range of services, including welfare benefits, housing, health, education, and employment. You will also play a key role in empowering families to build their confidence, independence, and long-term integration into the community.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Client Support & Case Management:

• Manage a caseload of newly arrived refugee families, providing tailored support to meet their specific needs.
• Conduct home visits and orientation sessions to welcome clients to their new community and complete holistic needs assessments.
• Develop Personal Integration Plans for each household on a quarterly basis, helping them set goals for long-term independence.
• Coordinate support with external agencies and specialists to address clients’ needs, ensuring seamless service delivery.
• Support families with housing, welfare benefits, education, healthcare, and employment.
• Assist with registration for healthcare services (GPs, dentists, opticians) and support with medical assessments.
• Facilitate access to education for children and English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) classes for adults.
• Provide guidance on immigration matters and ensure the correct paperwork is in place, including registering for Biometric Residence Cards and supporting welfare benefit applications.
• Ensure clients are financially supported by applying for relevant welfare benefits and assisting with mandatory reconsiderations as required.

Integration & Independence:

• Help clients develop the skills and knowledge to achieve independence, focusing on self-sufficiency and integration into the local community.
• Support families in securing suitable accommodation, liaising with landlords, housing providers, and relevant stakeholders.
• Provide ongoing orientation on UK systems, including financial rights and responsibilities, social services, and community resources.
• Encourage social integration by organising outings and community events to foster connections with local services and other refugees.

Partnership Working & Community Engagement:

• Work closely with a range of internal and external stakeholders to ensure that refugees have access to the services and support they need.
• Act as the lead contact for other agencies involved in supporting your clients, ensuring a collaborative approach to case management.
• Promote the long-term integration of refugees by identifying and facilitating opportunities for engagement with mainstream services.

Administrative & Reporting Duties:

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client interactions and case progress, ensuring compliance with organisational policies.
• Provide written reports and case updates as required by the Resettlement Coordinator and Manager.
• Contribute to the development and improvement of services based on monitoring and evaluation feedback.

General Responsibilities:

Person Specification

Essential:

• Experience working with vulnerable individuals, particularly refugees or migrants.
• Strong understanding of the challenge’s refugees faces during resettlement and integration.
• Proven ability to manage a caseload and create detailed support plans.
• Experience in working with external agencies and coordinating services for clients.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with refugees, stakeholders, and service providers.
• Ability to manage sensitive and complex cases with a person-centred approach.
• Knowledge of UK welfare benefits, housing rights, and immigration services.
• Ability to maintain accurate records and use IT systems to document casework.
• Cultural competence and a commitment to diversity, equality, and inclusion.
• Ability to work flexibly and independently, including delivering outreach services.
• Fluent in Farsi/Pashto and English.

Desirable:

• Experience working within a multi-disciplinary team, supporting volunteers to achieve client outcomes.
• Knowledge of community languages (particularly relevant to refugee populations) would be advantageous.
• Experience in delivering outreach support to families in their homes and community settings.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a car.

Flexibility

To achieve the objectives of this role, a degree of flexibility is essential. The post holder may be required to undertake duties not specifically listed above, provided they fall within the scope of the role and are appropriate to the pay grade. In this role, you will:

·Lead on operational systems (HR, recruitment, volunteer processes, policies).

·Manage finance administration, including donations, CRM (Beacon), and Gift Aid claims.

·Project manage BeSpace events and provide admin support to the team.

·Develop and maintain systems for impact tracking, GDPR compliance, and volunteer management.

·Provide communications and social media support.

·Where needed, support on-the-ground delivery of retreats and prayer and reflection spaces in schools.

Role Details

• Position: Operations Coordinator
• Location: Remote. Travel required for in person team days 3 - 6 times a year and some travel across Oxfordshire.

·Hours of work: PT 4 days a week. (28 hours) per week. (Flexible for the right candidate)

·Salary: £22,000 – £25,000 (pro rata) depending on experience.

This role will be prison based, working 4 days per week. Horatio’s Garden is a nationwide charity creating and nurturing beautifully designed gardens in NHS spinal injury centres. We are seeking two creative, dynamic people with warm and welcoming personalities for the roles of Patient Support Coordinator, one for each of the following locations:

• Horatio's Garden Midlands, The Midland Centre for Spinal Injuries
• Horatio’s Garden Scotland, Queen Elizabeth University Hospital

You will be responsible for organising and running a range of social and creative activities for people with spinal injuries and their families and friends to enjoy during the week and at weekends, creating an uplifting, friendly atmosphere in Horatio’s Garden and garden room.

Currently the programme includes crafts, quizzes, glass fusing workshops, felting, printing, talks, painting, ceramic workshops, seasonal celebrations with lunches, baking, live music performances and social afternoons. 

You will need to be a highly organised person who is confident working independently in the garden and via Teams with the Events Programme Manager, Evie Redwood. The role is part-time, 10.5 hours a week, consisting of one weekend afternoon (approx. 4 hours), a weekday afternoon workshop (approx. 3.5 hours) and 3 hours of admin time a week. You will need to be flexible with your availability, working when patients are available – this can vary. 

This is a fantastic opportunity for a self-driven, proactive individual who is efficient, well-organised and has an outgoing personality. You will need to be adaptable and happy working with a wide range of stakeholders including people with spinal injuries and their families, NHS staff, volunteers and many different teams within the charity.

Key responsibilities for the role of Patient Support Coordinator include:

· Creating a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, encouraging people with spinal injuries and their families to engage in the Events Programme that is organised in the garden.

· Asking patients what activities they would like to do.

· Working virtually with the Events Programme team to plan activities that reflect patients’ requests.

· Going into the wards to help patients to come out to the garden and garden room in hospital beds or wheelchairs. You will have training for this.

· Hosting creative workshops in the garden, ensuring all aspects run smoothly.

· Running arts and craft sessions yourself, organising social activities and writing quizzes so a creative flair is essential.

· Booking high-quality speakers, entertainers and freelance creative people to run sessions.

· Working alongside session facilitators to support them. 

· Coordinating catering arrangements and serving food and drinks.

· Making posters and updating blackboards to promote activities, as well as   advertising the sessions via word of  mouth.

· Building relationships with NHS teams in the spinal unit.

· Handling the administrative side of the role, including risk assessments, ordering materials and budget-monitoring.

· Collecting feedback from patients, their visitors and NHS staff during and after the sessions.

Role Overview: Knowledge in grant-funding, capacity building, organisational support

We are seeking a proactive and collaborative Charity Support Officer to help deliver AWN’s mission. You will be the first point of contact for grassroots charities, supporting them to strengthen their organisations and improve their chances of securing grant funding by offering practical guidance, signposting, and building trusted relationships that help them grow in confidence and resilience. The role includes helping organisations strengthen governance and compliance, sharing information on grant-funding opportunities, and supporting them to identify challenges and develop practical solutions.
 
The non-profits you will support work across a wide range of areas for example: women, health and wellbeing, youth, homelessness and poverty, family services, sports, faith groups, crime and gangs, prisoners and ex-offenders, refugees and asylum seekers, drug addiction, older people and rehabilitation, and many more. 
 
Bringing a strong awareness of the barriers facing small charities particularly Muslim-led groups, will be key to helping them build long-term sustainability and impact. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as the first point of contact for charities and community groups, managing a varied caseload and balancing priorities. 

• Carry out needs assessments to understand organisations strengths, challenges, and funding needs, and develop clear action plans. 

• Provide tailored support, including health checks on governance, compliance, finances, and funding readiness, offering recommendations and signposting to specialist services (e.g., Cranfield Trust, CVS, Charity Excellence etc). 

• Advise on funding opportunities, strategy, and application readiness, with referrals to bid-writing support where needed. 

• Deliver workshops, webinars, events, and one-to-one sessions to build skills, knowledge, and confidence of UK grassroots organisations. 

• Work collaboratively with organisations and AWN colleagues (including via the triage and referral system) to identify challenges and develop practical, sustainable solutions. 

• Build and maintain strong relationships with charities, funders, and sector partners across the voluntary, public, and charity sectors. 

• Represent AWN at external events, conferences, and meetings, helping to organise and deliver events linked to your work. 

• Keep accurate records on the CRM, gather feedback, write case studies, and contribute to monitoring, evaluation, and service development. 

• Support AWN’s communications by contributing updates for the website and social media.

Alongside these personal qualities, you’ll bring a good understanding of the charity sector and the challenges facing small non-profits across the UK, for UK Muslim-led organisations. You’ll have exceptional knowledge of governance, compliance, and funding pathways, and the confidence to guide organisations towards growth, resilience, and long-term impact. 

Essential Criteria 

• 3+ years’ experience within the UK charity sector (domestic, not solely international). 

• Strong understanding of charity governance, compliance, and the UK funding and grant-making landscape. 

• Insight into the needs and challenges of small and grassroots non-profits, with awareness of the systemic barriers affecting Muslim-led organisations. 

• Experience supporting or advising charities, community groups, or local networks to build capacity and resilience. 

• Ability to work collaboratively with organisations, offering constructive and practical guidance. 

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with confidence in public speaking and engaging a wide range of stakeholders. 

• Strong organisational and administrative skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities. 

• Demonstrated ability to work independently, take initiative, and adapt in a fast-paced environment.  

• Comfortable working autonomously and as part of a small team, with minimal supervision. 

• Confident using technology to deliver support and manage work effectively, including CRM systems, Microsoft Teams, and other digital tools. 

• Experience in one or more of the following areas: 
  - Community engagement and outreach 
  - Event or project coordination (online and in-person) 
  - Delivering presentations, workshops, or training sessions 
  - Monitoring, evaluation, and learning activities

About the Role

The role of Database Officer sits in the Data, Evidence and Monitoring team, at the junction of frontline services, fundraising and the leadership team. In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of In-Form, our case management system for frontline services. In-Form represents a key data asset for the organisation so we are looking for someone who is responsible, conscientious and able to provide excellent customer service to other stakeholders who rely on In-Form. A strong interest in information management and databases is also essential for this role.

We would like to manage aspects of the development of In-Form in-house with limited recourse to the technical support team at In-Form. We recognise that this involves technical skills and will provide relevant on-the-job training to the successful candidate. We believe this job would be an ideal opportunity for someone who already has experience of using a case management system as a frontline worker in health/social care and now wants to move into data management, data protection and/or project monitoring and evaluation (M&E).

Working closely with the prison and their staff, people in prison, Shannon Trust volunteers and mentors, this post will lead the delivery and development of our prison-based reading and numeracy programme, maximising opportunities for people in prison to learn to read.

Ideally you will have some experience of prison settings underpinned by the ability to build relationships and personal qualities that include resilience, determination and a problem-solving approach. 

This role will be prison based.
