About the role 

As a Regional Fundraising Volunteer, you will support Rethink Mental Illness in generating income, raising awareness, and building community engagement through local fundraising initiatives. The role will involve event planning and support, and public engagement to help achieve regional fundraising goals. 

You will play a major part in bringing to life regional fundraising activities in line with our “Rethink in the Community" concept and increase regional awareness to generate much needed additional income and amplify the impact of the work Rethink Mental Illness do.

UKuhamba

Ukuhamba produces lightweight, custom-made, and affordable prosthetics using 3D printing technology to improve the lives of amputees living with disabilities, restoring their independence and dignity.

Ukuhamba aims to address several social and environmental challenges such as:

• Limited access to prosthetic devices: Many individuals in Africa, particularly in rural areas, lack access to prosthetic devices due to high costs, limited infrastructure, and a shortage of trained personnel.
• Social stigma associated with disability: People with disabilities, especially amputees, often face social exclusion, stigma, and discrimination, which can lead to feelings of isolation, low self-esteem, and depression.
• Economic burden of disability:The lack of access to prosthetic devices can result in significant economic burdens on individuals and communities, limiting their ability to participate in education, employment, and community activities.
• Environmental impact of prosthetic production: Traditional prosthetic production methods can have a significant environmental impact, which Ukuhamba aims to mitigate by using recycled materials, such as plastic water bottles, in their 3D printing process.

Ukuhamba addresses social and environmental challenges in several ways:

• Increasing accessibility to prosthetics: They provide affordable, custom-made prosthetic limbs to individuals with physical disabilities, particularly in South Africa where access to these devices is limited. Currently, only about 30.5% of individuals in need have access to prosthetics.
• Reducing stigma associated with disability: By infusing fashion into their prosthetic designs, Ukuhamba aims to empower users to proudly showcase their prosthetics, challenging societal stigmas surrounding disability.
• Environmental sustainability: Ukuhamba utilizes recycled materials, such as plastic bottles, in their 3D printing process, reducing waste and promoting eco-friendliness.

About Us

The Story Forge Project is a new, grassroots literacy project based in Grantham. We design imaginative, inclusive workshops for children and young people that build confidence, creativity and a lifelong love of words. Men Who Talk is a UK registered charity, running twice weekly online peer-to-peer support groups for men aged 18+ across the UK. The groups take place between 7:00pm - 8:30pm every Wednesday evening, and 14:00 - 15:30 every Saturday afternoon. 

Our groups are supportive spaces for men aged 18+ to come and talk openly about what's on their mind. All groups are free to attend and follow the evidence based model of peer support. 

Volunteers are required to be online from 6:45pm to 8:45pm on a Wednesday evening, and from 13:45 - 15:45 on a Saturday, and are required to facilitate around 1 group per month. Volunteers are asked to commit to an a minimum of 6 months of volunteering in the initial stage. 

All groups are facilitated by a minimum of 2 facilitators, and follow a semi-structured pattern.

We are looking for passionate men with some experience of groups facilitating or working in mental health settings to come join us as facilitators. Experience in using online platforms such as zoom is essential. 

A degree in psychology is preferred but not an essential requirement.

You must have the right to live and work in the UK in order to join us, MWT is unable to sponsor any visa applications. Fluency in conversational English and a firm grasp of technology is also required.

Foundation First Ghana is a nonprofit dedicated to giving every child a strong start in life. Through our PreCARE Initiative (Preschool Care, Feed, Educate, and Empower), we provide meals, uniforms, school kits, and teacher training for preschool children in low-fee private schools across Ghana.

We are seeking an Online Volunteer Partnerships Development Officer to help us strengthen our fundraising and partnership efforts by leveraging their networks, skills, and creativity to connect us with potential donors, partners, and sponsors globally.

Key Responsibilities

As a volunteer, you will support Foundation First Ghana by:

• Researching potential donors, foundations, and CSR opportunities that align with our mission.
• Helping draft or review proposals, partnership pitches, and concept notes.
• Sharing our campaigns (such as our GoFundMe drive) within your networks and encouraging support.

Chatterbox Befrienders offer one-to-one telephone support and will call a client once a week offering companionship and a listening ear for an individual who might otherwise go unheard. Chatterbox volunteers befriend a variety of people including carers, socially isolated individuals who are struggling with loneliness, people with ill health and those that 
have been bereaved. 

THIS ROLE COULD BE FOR YOU IF:

- Completing an online call log record promptly after each phone call

- Ensuring immediate contact with the Chatterbox Coordinators if you feel that the client might be a risk to themselves or others

- Liaising with the Chatterbox Coordinator on a regular basis regarding the service, as well as discussing personal learning and development needs

- Respecting service standards, appropriate boundaries and recognising the range of policies and procedures that impact on befriending vulnerable adults

About Us

Meridian Wellbeing is an independent charity working to improve the mental, physical, and emotional wellbeing of individuals and communities in Barnet. As part of our ongoing support for Hongkongers who have settled in the UK via the BN(O) visa route, we are launching informal, volunteer-led online English sessions to help participants build confidence in using English in everyday life.

We know that many newcomers from Hong Kong face challenges accessing traditional ESOL courses due to long working hours, family commitments, or limited local services. Our project offers an alternative: flexible, accessible, and welcoming English learning spaces run by volunteers.

We are currently recruiting for two volunteer roles:

1. Volunteer ESOL Teacher (Online)

We are looking for a volunteer with a recognised English teaching qualification to lead weekly online ESOL classes (entry level). Sessions are informal but structured, with a focus on everyday communication skills.

• Prepare simple, tailored lesson plans and resources

2. Volunteer Conversation Café Facilitator (Online)

We’re also seeking facilitators to host informal group sessions where Hongkongers can practise English through conversation. No teaching qualifications are needed — just a warm personality and willingness to support others.

Key Responsibilities:

• Host or co-host weekly conversation sessions online (2–2.5 hours)
• Use topics or prompts to encourage group discussion
• Help create a welcoming, supportive environment
• Respect and support participants with different English levels

Requirements:

• Fluent or highly proficient in spoken English (native-level fluency preferred)
• Friendly and confident leading small groups
• Able to use Zoom (training provided as required)
• Available for lunchtime sessions, with potential flexibility for evening or weekend sessions in future.

Key Responsibilities:

• Strategic Partnership Development: Identify, cultivate, and secure collaborations with community groups, local businesses, other charities, and relevant organisations across the UK to expand Mindset's reach and impact.

• Participant Engagement & Empowerment: Establish and lead our Participants Advisory Group, creating a structured and safe forum where men who use our services can actively provide feedback, share insights, and co-design future programmes and initiatives.

• Outreach & Relationship Building: Act as a key ambassador for Mindset, building rapport and trust with potential partners and participant groups through networking, presentations, and ongoing communication.

• Community Integration: Explore opportunities for Mindset to embed its services within existing community structures, ensuring our support is accessible and relevant to diverse male populations.

• Joint Initiative Planning: Develop and manage collaborative projects with partners, ensuring clear objectives, mutual benefits, and effective execution.

• Feedback Loop Implementation: Champion the integration of participant feedback into Mindset's operational and strategic planning, ensuring our services are always person-centred and impactful.
