Job Description
To provide advocacy support to a caseload of clients with complex mental health needs, including support around housing, finances, health, domestic abuse and other issues. CARA’s advocacy service focuses primarily on meeting the needs of some of our most complex clients – victims and survivors who would be unable to access other advocacy services. The role will also involve supporting the wider CARA team in signposting other clients to external advocacy agencies, as appropriate and attendance at CARA groups to provide a drop-in advocacy surgery.
Main Responsibilities
·To manage a caseload of complex clients seeking short and long-term advocacy support, including support around housing, finances, health, domestic abuse and other issues.
·To manage referrals in to CARA’s Advocacy service, ensuring clients meet the referral criteria.
·To provide line-management for CARA’s social care placement worker and potential future advocacy volunteers.
·To assess all new referrals to CARA’s advocacy services, allocating cases to members of the advocacy team, as appropriate.
·To liaise with other agencies, receiving and making referrals and ensuring that they understand CARA’s role and services.
·To gather information about local and national agencies and manage storage and display of this material at CARA. To work with CARA’s Integrated Support and Advocacy Manager to create a directory of services that can be used by all the CARA team.
·To support CARA’s group work, including attendance to provide advocacy support and supporting other activities.
·To attend regular team meetings and to work with colleagues to further the objectives of CARA.
·To maintain and collate evaluation data, testimonials or case studies for distribution.
·To adhere to CARA’s organisational policies and procedures, including safeguarding procedures.

CARA is part of Synergy East and we work closely with SERICC Rape and Sexual Abuse Specialist Service and Southend-on-Sea Rape Crisis (SOS Rape Crisis) to deliver the contract for the Office for the Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner for Essex for services for victims and survivors of sexual violence and child sexual abuse across Essex.

To provide direct adminstration support to all elements of the organisation ensuring the smooth-running of the operational functions. We are seeking an individual with strong organisational, communication and interpersonal skills, who is confident with managing multiple tasks and digital processess.
Key responsibilities;
To support our volunteer leaders and staff by:
- Providing efficient administrartive and organisational support
- Embed digital processes throughout the organisation
- Dealing with queries by phone and email
- Signposting information and resources across our organisational functions
- Updating and inputting digital records. Processing data and providing reports
- Assisting volunteers and staff in using our membership system (Online Brigade Manager) as we seek to increase usage of OBM.
- Coordinating and providing adminstration support for events eg Trooping the Colour, Remembrance Services, annual AGM
- Administration support for national competitions and events
- All other adminstrative task as required

The role
As Community Fundraiser you will build and develop fundraising relationships in the community, by providing excellent stewardship and support to Fundraising Groups and volunteers, in order to increase income and deliver the agreed Community Fundraising strategy.
You will work across the region to both identify, research and form new fundraising groups in the community by organising community days and meeting potential volunteers face to face. You will also create and deliver an annual volunteer recruitment plan to grow numbers of volunteers in dedicated roles.
About You
As a Community Fundraiser you will be an incredible relationship builder with good communication skills. Although it is desirable you will have had some experience in the Charity sector, we are also open to people with transferable skills who would love to start a career in fundraising. Working towards targets is also desirable.
This role is remote with travel across Staffordshire, Shropshire and the Black Country. Please note that you must be a car driver with access to a car. The closing date is the 18th May. We are looking for a coordinator to lead our small but wonderful Brighton youth team running activities with young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) to have fun, try new things, make friends, express their views and prepare for adulthood.
About Us
Amazing Futures (AF) is a youth programme offering activities, social groups and support to young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) aged 14-25 in Brighton and Hove and East Sussex. AF enables young people to be more involved in their community, to explore and understand their ideas, values and beliefs, to improve their confidence and to develop their life skills as they transition to adulthood. Youth work interventions are based on the Five Ways to Wellbeing and Preparation for Adulthood frameworks and in particular help build the resilience and improve the emotional health and wellbeing of young people. AF also has a strong commitment to community development work with young people. It is youth led project empowering young people to have a place where their voices are heard and valued and where they can be themselves.
About the job

Main Purpose of the Job: To provide leadership, planning and direction for the Amazing Futures service in Brighton & Hove to ensure it supports young people with SEND aged 14-25 to develop their confidence, aspirations, wellbeing and life skills To manage AF staff to provide an excellent service To maintain and develop stakeholder relationships and partnerships with other services To develop a relational, asset-based approach that is underpinned by youth work good practice and co-production with YP

Skills and experience required
You will manage and develop a youth led project empowering young people to have a place where their voices are heard and valued and where they can be themselves. You will have experience of managing people and activities but still enjoy hands on work with young people. You will know how to strike a balance between safety and adventure for disabled young people. You must be a natural at connecting with young people and supporting youth-led participation. You will be driven by a true passion for making a difference in young people’s lives through youth work.
