Role Overview
As a Production Assistant, you will support the Video Production Manager and team in all stages of video production, focusing primarily on the pre and production phase. Your role will be crucial in ensuring that our video projects are well-planned and executed smoothly. You will be involved in tasks ranging from script writing to stage setting, ensuring that all necessary preparations are in place for successful video production.
Main Responsibilities

Collaborate with the Video Production Manager to develop and refine scripts for various video projects, conducting research to gather relevant information and insights to inform script content and invite guests when necessary.

Assist in planning and setting up stages for video shoots, including arranging props, lighting, and other necessary equipment, and coordinate with the production team to ensure all stage elements are in place.

Work with the Video Production Manager to create detailed production schedules and timelines, and coordinate with cast, crew, and other stakeholders to ensure everyone is informed of shoot dates and times.

Assist in identifying and securing suitable locations for video shoots, conducting site visits to assess the suitability of locations and addressing any logistical considerations.

Organize and manage all production materials and resources, including scripts, shot lists, and production notes, ensuring all necessary permits and permissions are obtained for filming locations.

Relevant Person’s Representative (RPR) Support Volunteers
People in care homes should have a voice to communicate their needs wishes and wants. Some people need support with this, but don’t have friends and family available to assist them. This means they’re entitled to have support from an RPR and volunteer, who are there to make sure they get the care they deserve. Your role as an RPR Support Volunteer is to collaborate with the VoiceAbility RPR to make sure a person’s views are listened to when decisions are made about their care.
As an RPR Support Volunteer you might:
- Visit people in their care home, to make sure they’re getting the right care and support
- Talk with them about their feelings, thoughts and wishes
- Raise concerns
- Keep detailed notes and records
- Make a real difference to someone’s life
Volunteering opportunities are available Monday to Friday between 09:00 and 17:00. You will need to be over 18 years old and be living in the UK.

The Independent Visitor plays a vital role in helping the young people build confidence and feel secure while enhancing their personal, social, and cultural development.
As an Independent Visitor Volunteer in England, you might:

3. Grievance and Conflict Resolution
- Implement and manage an efficient grievance procedure to handle volunteer concerns professionally and promptly.
- Ensure impartiality and transparency in addressing grievances, collaborating with relevant stakeholders for resolution.
- Collaborate with the L&D team to provide periodic training for volunteers and managers on grievance handling and conflict resolution.
4. Policy Execution and Compliance
- Act as the primary custodian of the Volunteer Handbook, ensuring volunteers are well-informed about organisational policies and procedures.
- Monitor compliance with organisational guidelines and address any violations in consultation with the HR Manager.
- Partner with the Policy team to update the Volunteer Handbook periodically to reflect regulatory changes and organisational needs.
5. Volunteer Relations
- Serve as the first point of contact for volunteers, addressing their queries and concerns to foster a positive environment.
- Actively promote inclusivity and diversity in all volunteer-related activities.
6. Compliance and Reporting
- Ensure all volunteer-related activities comply with organisational and legal standards.

We are seeking a proactive, strategic, and mission-aligned Funding Manager to join our growing team. This pivotal role will lead on identifying, applying for, and managing multiple streams of funding to support the delivery and expansion of our work. As a small charity with big impact, funding is vital to everything we do — from running support services to delivering education and campaigning for change. The Funding Manager will be at the heart of ensuring our sustainability and growth by securing the resources we need. You will be line managed by the Chair of Trustees, and work closely with the Treasurer and other trustees as needed to complete applications, manage current funding applications and report on grant outcomes.
What are the key responsibilities of this role?
This role will have the following duties, but are not limited to:

Identify and research suitable funding opportunities from trusts, foundations, statutory bodies, and other grant-makers

Lead and coordinate the writing and submission of compelling funding bids, applications, and proposals.

Manage and track existing grants, ensuring compliance with reporting requirements and deadlines.

Work with trustees (e.g. Treasurer and Chair) to gather financial and impact data for applications and reports.

Maintain a funding pipeline and reporting calendar, ensuring visibility of all application stages and deadlines.

Build and maintain relationships with funders, providing updates on Hidayah’s work and impact.

Monitor trends in the funding landscape and keep the charity informed of relevant changes and opportunities.

Advise and support the Board in developing a long-term funding strategy.

To maintain clear records on the organisation’s shared systems (Google Drive).

Meet regularly e.g. monthly or bi-monthly with your line manager to discuss funding applications and progress

To check and respond to funding application emails promptly and within deadlines set for funding applications
What do we expect from the Funding Manager?

Essential:

Demonstrable experience of successful fundraising from trusts, foundations, or statutory funders.

Excellent bid writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to communicate impact clearly.

Strong organisational skills, able to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.

Financially literate, comfortable working with budgets and data.

Self-motivated and able to work independently while collaborating with others.

A commitment to the values and mission of Hidayah LGBTQI+.

Knowledge of CRM or funding management tools.
Desirable:

Experience working with grassroots or LGBTQI+ charities.

Understanding of issues affecting LGBTQI+ Muslims or minoritised communities.
How much commitment is required?
This is a voluntary role with flexible hours, and can be carried out around your existing commitments. We are results-focused, so while you have autonomy over when you volunteer, we ask that funding bids and key deadlines are met in a timely and reliable manner.

Charity Champion (volunteer)
As a Volunteer Charity Champion, you will have the opportunity to support the North West Ambulance Charity team achieve their mission in a variety of different ways to suit you. The NWAS charity are looking for motivated, enthusiastic and passionate volunteers wanting to work flexibly and help contribute to the growth of the charity. You will play a key part in a variety of tasks that may include supporting fundraising events, awareness days, collections and community engagement.
Why we want you
The North West Ambulance Charity provides support to the North West Ambulance Service above and beyond what NHS funding can provide. The NWAS Charity is solely reliant upon generous donations and fundraising from the public, businesses, grant funders, staff and volunteers to fund life-saving equipment and other projects to benefit the health, wellbeing and safety of patients, staff, and our communities.
We won’t ask you to do anything you’re uncomfortable with. You may only wish to be involved in volunteering at charity events for example, but you might not be comfortable with bucket collecting. As a Charity Champion you will have the opportunity to choose the area of support you prefer.
What you will be doing
- Supporting the Charity with its fundraising and engagement events for example at bucket collections, cheering on runners in challenge events or helping on a stall at a summer fair.
- Representing the Charity positively through giving talks, presentations or cheque presentations.
- Identifying locations to take collection tins and assist with the collection of full boxes.
- Raising the charities profile in your own community through delivering posters and flyers.
- Encouraging others to get involved-inspiring colleagues, friends and family to support the charity.

- Good communication skills and a willingness to engage with the public.
