We're looking for a confident, enthusiastic individual who can help us to get more people involved in shaping Lancashire Mind.

Lancashire Mind is a local charity working to prevent poor mental health. We support people experiencing common mental health conditions, such as anxiety and depression. We work with children and adults, offering universal services to help people improve their mental wellbeing, along with targeted services for people and communities at increased risk of experiencing poor mental health or facing mental health inequalities. We’re working towards a Lancashire where everyone can have the best mental health and wellbeing possible.

We have a responsibility to engage the communities we serve, to make sure we know and understand them. It's vital we do this to identify need and understand barriers and to design services alongside people. We do this well on an individual service level, with many of our projects designed with the people who use them but we need to improve how we involve people with lived experience in organisation-wide development plans and key decision making.

To help us work towards our plans for embedding participation, we're looking for someone to join our Engagement and Inclusion Team to work with the communities we aim to serve, with a focus on those who are underrepresented within Lancashire Mind services. The role has been designed to ensure that the experiences, perspectives and ideas of local people are being listened to and acted upon.

The ideal candidate will have experience of working within communities and knowledge of the barriers that people face to achieving mental wellbeing and accessing services. You'll be confident, creative and able to work autonomously in the community, where you'll communicate with a wide range of people and quickly build rapport.

The focus of the role will be to ensure that more people with lived experience of poor mental health know who Lancashire Mind are, what we do and how they can influence our work. You'll work with the Community Engagement Projects Lead to create a range of opportunities for people to participate, including establishing formal structures, for example a lived experience panel and youth advisory group, which you'll design with the people who want to get involved. You'll work with colleagues across all teams to ensure opportunities to influence Lancashire Mind's work are promoted to everyone who uses our services.

The Peer Support Coordinator will play a critical role in the delivery of Day One's Peer Support Service. The primary objectives are to ensure a high-quality service is delivered to our beneficiaries; to develop our regional peer support model; and to facilitate a positive volunteering experience for our lived experience volunteer team. Responsibilities will include the day-to-day coordination of peer support activity. This will involve sensitive communication with trauma-affected individuals to understand their needs and preferences, using this information to facilitate suitable peer support matches.

The postholder will contribute to building a diverse volunteer team by supporting the volunteer recruitment and induction processes. They will offer ongoing support, guidance and motivation to our volunteers, ensuring meaningful opportunities to engage with Day One. The Peer Support Co-ordinator will monitor service delivery and volunteer activity to ensure it is operating within agreed policies and processes. Overview of the Role

As a Welfare Benefits Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in assisting individuals in making benefit claims and accessing the support they need. You will join a busy team that supports thousands of disabled people and carers across the borough and specifically provide a bespoke home visiting service to our most vulnerable clients.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

1. Benefit Claims Assistance:

   • Provide guidance and support to individuals in understanding their eligibility for various welfare benefits, including Disability Living Allowance, Personal Independence Payment, and Attendance Allowance.

   • Assist clients in completing benefit application forms accurately and efficiently.

   • Stay updated on changes to welfare benefit regulations and policies to provide accurate information to clients.

2. Home Visiting Service:

   • Conduct home visits to assess clients' needs and provide personalised support in accessing welfare benefits.

Volunteer Programme Fundraiser

About the Role

We currently have a variety of volunteer roles including Fundraising Volunteers, Information Hub Volunteers (who support the Charity Hubs around the hospitals), and event volunteers. The organisation would like to grow the volunteer roles and introduce official Fundraising groups across The East of England to the portfolio.

The role

MIND in Haringey and its partner Public Voice delivers the Voluntary and Community (VCS) Capacity Building contract commissioned by the London Borough of Haringey. The contract, which runs from May 2024 to April 2027 can be extended for a further four years at the discretion of the Client. The Contract includes the administration and management of the Volunteer Centre and the development and promotion of a Navigation Network (NavNet) knowledge sharing platform, META Workplace.

The Community Collaborative team will be located across different sectors of the Borough employed by either MIND in Haringey or Public Voice who make up the consortium partners. Day-to-day management of the Community Collaborative service is the responsibility of the Haringey Community Collaborative Manager.

This is an exciting job opportunity to join a dynamic and committed team in a front-line role to support and deliver the activities and services of elop’s LGBTQ+ Children & Young People’s Service.

We are recruiting for a Service Delivery Assistant based in our Reading centre to lead on the smooth running of our service, and create a welcoming atmosphere for all clients, volunteers and visitors. The Service Delivery Assistant will be the first point of contact a client will have with Smart Works. Therefore, we are looking for a friendly, organised and hard-working individual. The role requires strong administrative skills, excellent communication skills and a drive to ensure all women who visit us have the best possible experience. The role would be based in Reading city centre, and there will be occasional evening and weekend work as the role holder may be asked to provide key events support. 

Smart Works Reading is part of Smart Works Charity, with Smart Works centres across the UK. There will therefore be some travel and frequent liaison with local centres across the UK and HQ in London, to support induction and training, as well as the day-to-day role.

• Being the first point of contact for all clients, volunteers and visitors of the centre, in person, via email and on the phone.

Job Purpose: The role of the Recruitment & Engagement Coordinator is essential in bringing in new volunteers to the organisation. Our volunteers are at the heart of HomeStart, without them, we couldn’t provide the vital support to families and children in need across Wales. Home-Start Cymru has an ambition to reach more families, to do this, we need to recruit, train and engage with even more volunteers across Wales.

Job Summary: The Recruitment & Engagement Coordinator is responsible for the recruitment and engagement of new volunteers across Wales, ensuring they have a positive experience with us throughout their volunteering journey. 

The appointment is subject to an enhanced Child and Adult Workforce DBS disclosure check.

Specific Duties and Key Responsibilities

Attraction of Volunteers

• Post opportunities and develop relationships with national volunteering partners, including but not limited to, Volunteering Wales, WCVA and Careers Wales.
• Develop and maintain a stakeholder map of volunteer involving organisations across Wales, working with localities on managing and maintaining these relationships.
• Ensure local areas have the required resources to attract volunteers locally. Working with the Head of Marketing to facilitate this.

Recruitment and Induction

• Manage the volunteer recruitment mailbox
• Act as a first point of contact for all volunteer enquiries
• Work with colleagues to conduct volunteer interviews over the phone /on teams
• Process DBS checks and references as required
• Work with the Safer Recruitment Lead (National Volunteer Manager) to ensure volunteers are approved as active.
• Work within the volunteering team to streamline recruitment processes, providing a quick enjoyable experience for new volunteers
• Work with local managers to support effective matching of new volunteers
• Ensure all volunteer communications follows brand guidelines

Training and Engagement

• Book volunteers on mandatory training, including sending reminders to increase engagement and retention on sessions
• Support the National Volunteering Manager to engage with volunteers nationally, facilitating consistent communication and recognition of volunteers.

Compliance of volunteers:

• Follow policies and procedures to ensure the recruitment process is fully compliant
• Monitoring and Reporting:
• Process all new volunteer data using a central database
• Run reports as and when required.

Other

• Work to objectives as set by your line manager
• Support the volunteer team as required with additional administrative support in the processing and management of volunteers.
• Work collaboratively within the volunteer team and wider organisation.

Safeguarding

• Understand the Home-Start Cymru safeguarding policy, processes, and practices.
• Ensure the safeguarding & child protection policies are implemented and adhered to.

Your role as a Volunteer Recruitment & Engagement Coordinator will be integral in bringing in more volunteers to support more families across Wales. Their mission is to break the stereotypes of church, to breach loneliness, to bring people home and to build the kingdom in Cardiff, Wales and beyond. Citizen has partnered with Resurgo to deliver the Spear programme in the heart of South Wales.

They are looking for a new Assistant Coach, to work alongside the Centre Manager, as part of the team at Citizen Church to deliver the Spear Programme, equipping and empowering unemployed 16–24 year olds to overcome barriers to employment and turn their lives around by moving into sustainable work or further education.

The important stuff 

Salary: £21,500 p.a. pro rata for part-time role (£10,750) 

Hours: Part time, 2.5 days per week, between 9.30am – 5.30pm, Tuesday – Thursday (with some flexibility and occasional evening or weekend work for events such as Spear Celebrations)

Key Responsibilities

Spear Programme

• Lead group sessions of up to 10 young people, using coaching skills to transform their mindsets, and to maximise their potential in stepping into the world of work
• Prepare and deliver coaching sessions on a weekly basis and find creative ways of developing ongoing relationships with Spear Trainees. This includes running application workshops with past Trainees as well as maintaining records and reporting on statistics.

Relationship management

• Build and manage relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including referrers, local businesses, and other organisations
• You will support with job fairs, mock interview days and welcoming external visitors to the centre

Church Community

• The Spear Coach is directly employed by Citizen Church, meaning you are part of a vibrant church staff team and submerged in an exciting faith community
• Help to raise the profile of the Spear programme within Citizen Church and build a network of supporters and volunteers from the congregation
• Other ad hoc church responsibilities from time to time.
