Locate International are looking to expand our Media Team on a completely voluntary basis, with an average time commitment of around six hours per week.

Founded in 2019, we assist families in locating loved ones from unsolved missing persons cases and in identifying unknown deceased individuals.

By recruiting three volunteers - each specialising in TikTok, YouTube or Reddit - we can spread more breadcrumbs & ensure every case we take on has the best possible chance of being solved.

Our Media Team is a close-knit group of volunteers who meet via Zoom every Tuesday evening at 7pm (for one hour). Attendance at these meetings is important so we can support our Investigation Teams, plan appeals, and create a clear plan of action for the weeks ahead. We appreciate that availability can vary, but we ask that you attend as many sessions as possible to stay connected with the team and cases.

You will champion your platform - posting, monitoring engagement, and coming up with fresh ideas to help raise awareness of our cases. Sometimes this will be broad-reach content; other times it will involve niching down to target specific audiences who may hold vital missing pieces of the puzzle.

Everyone who volunteers with Locate International shares the belief that everybody deserves a name, and no family should endure the uncertainty of a missing loved one.

What we’re looking for:

TikTok Content Creator

Someone who understands trends, who can hook viewers in the first few seconds and encourage comments and sharing. You must be confident editing content directly within TikTok.

YouTube Content Creator

Someone who can create engaging, informative videos that encourage interaction. You should be confident with professional video editing, understand branding, and know how to craft compelling titles and optimise tags. Viral potential is a big plus.

Reddit Content Creator

A significant percentage of our website traffic comes from Reddit, yet we don’t currently have an official presence there. If you understand Reddit etiquette, the do’s and don’ts, and what’s involved in creating and managing subreddits - we need you.

Your Role as the 'Head'
We are building a marketing department consisting of three people: You (The Strategic Lead), a Content Creator, and a Partnership Outreach Lead. We don’t need you to design daily social media posts; we need you to lead the overarching strategy and ensure both 'arms' of our mission are perfectly aligned.
 

• Brand Guardianship: Overseeing the distinct brand voices of our Empowerment Hub and our Retail Initiatives, ensuring they both communicate our 'Travel for Good' ethos with radical transparency.
   

• Team Leadership: Guiding and mentoring our volunteer content and partnership creators.
   

• Campaign Strategy: Designing high-level marketing campaigns that promote global holidays (from luxury escapes to family packages), which in turn fund our 'Four Pillars of Change.'

Your strategic leadership will be the funding engine for our global social projects. Because of our unique CIC structure, we rely on sustainable revenue from travel to fund our missions. By leading our marketing team, your impact acts as a massive multiplier. You will directly drive the success required to scale the 'Made From The Mekong' project. This initiative delivers digital literacy and English education to learners across off-grid villages in Laos, while simultaneously funding a circular economy that repurposes river plastic.
 

The Ideal Candidate
You do not need to be from the travel industry, but you must be a strategic thinker who understands how to build and protect a premium brand architecture.
 

• 3+ Years in Marketing Leadership: Proven experience in strategy, brand management, or campaign direction.
   

• Audience Fluency: You know how to pitch an empowerment opportunity to a professional, and how to promote a world-class holiday to a consumer.
   

• The 'Anti-Greenwashing' Guardian: You have a strict ethical compass and know how to market social impact with dignity and facts.

Role Summary

The Events Team Lead will perform a team leadership role related to all Roots Academy Events. This entails both event management - overseeing, planning, and running successful events, and team management - such as working with the Onsite Programme Lead to plan and achieve yearly strategic Event objectives and Event team management. The role will involve cross-functional cooperation with other Roots teams including the Finance and Marketing teams.

• People management for the Event team and volunteers
• Strategic planning of a yearly calendar of Roots Events
• Event logistics - planning, budgeting, running events

Youth Helper work directly with young people in St John Ambulance Badger Setts and Cadet Units. By supporting our Youth Leaders to deliver a sessions across our range of programmes. In this role, you'll support the learning and development of young people into the next generation of health citizens. Youth Helpers also help young people develop their confidence, teamwork skills, self-discipline, and generally encourage them to strive to be the best they can be, as well as supervise and support other adult volunteers in their team.

What will you be doing?

We’re looking for UK‑based volunteers with expertise in assessing and verifying quantified environmental impacts. You’ll work with a small remote team to audit and verify carbon, waste or water savings linked to lifestyle choices, using open‑source data. 

Your research will help develop robust models and frameworks, ensuring the E‑Save app provides accurate, trusted impact data for users.

What are we looking for?

We’re seeking volunteers with experience in assessing or verifying carbon, waste, water or other environmental impacts. 

You’ll audit data sources, verify existing figures, and research gaps. You’ll help develop consistent frameworks, models and tools, and refine methodologies with the team.

The Discord Moderator supports the safe, welcoming, and positive running of a Discord community. Moderators help guide discussions, uphold community guidelines, support members, and assist with the smooth day-to-day operation of the server. This role helps create an inclusive environment where members feel comfortable participating and engaging with others.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor Discord channels to ensure conversations remain respectful, safe, and aligned with community guidelines.

• Respond to member questions and provide general support or signposting to appropriate resources or channels.

• Welcome new members and help them understand server rules, structure, and available resources.

• Address inappropriate behaviour by following moderation procedures, which may include issuing reminders, warnings, or escalating concerns to senior staff or lead moderators.

• Help de-escalate conflicts and maintain a positive and supportive community atmosphere.

• Support community engagement by encouraging discussion, highlighting useful content, or helping to facilitate events or activities where appropriate.

• Report safeguarding, wellbeing, or rule concerns to the appropriate team member.

• Assist with general server upkeep, such as managing channels, roles, or pinned information where required.

Skills and Experience:

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to remain calm, fair, and professional when managing disagreements or sensitive situations.

• Good understanding of online community safety and respectful communication.

• Confidence using Discord, including moderation tools and features (or willingness to learn).

• Ability to follow community guidelines, policies, and confidentiality expectations.

You'll be raising awareness, & improving understanding of sight loss through delivering RNIB’s Awareness to Action sessions in your local community. Through these engaging sessions, you'll inspire participants to make small changes to their behaviour that make a massive difference in the day-to-day lives of people with sight loss. As a Community Change Champion, this will involve:

• Talking directly with community leaders, businesses, & local groups about ways they can get involved & inviting them to join an Awareness to Action session.
• Delivering RNIB’s Awareness to Action sessions either in person or online, using our resources. You may do this on your own or with a team of other local volunteers, both sighted and with sight loss.
• Sharing RNIB’s information & initiatives so people know we’re here for them.
• If you have a personal link to sight loss, sharing your experience during the session to help give a tangible example of how local people can make a real difference.
• Telling us about any activities you have engaged in via a Microsoft form.

What will you gain from the role?
• First-hand experience in grassroots community engagement & charity outreach.
