In the role of Carer Information Coordinator, you'll be instrumental in scoping and developing our creation of information resources, working closely with our skilled staff team to ensure that the information is accurate, relevant and well presented.
Through the work of this role, we will reach and support more carers, provide easy access to information and advice, enable better navigation of services by carers, and help carers feel better connected. Carers will be better able to find information digitally at a time that works for them.
This role works within our Information and Advice Team and provides line management to two experienced welfare benefits advisors.
This hybrid role combines remote work with occasional travel to in-person meetings and activities across West Sussex, which may include some weekend engagements.

Job Role
Key Responsibilities
- Content Creation and Management: Develop and manage e-learning content and information resources for carers and staff.
- Collaboration: Work with external partners, carer service teams, comms and HR to collate information to develop to manage a range of information resources and e-learning content for staff and carers.
- Co-production: Work alongside the Engagement & Volunteer Team to explore and collate carer insights to inform and include carers in content creation.
- Digital Presentation: Ensure information is presented in a range of accessible digital formats and is disseminated to a range of stakeholders through a range of on and offline media, including an e-learning platform.
- Awareness Raising: Raise awareness of Carers Support West Sussex and the services offered to carers
- Trend Spotting: Horizon scan to spot social and news trends and understand developing opportunities for new ways to share information
- Line Management: Provide day-to-day operational management of two Benefit Advisors, ensuring that KPIs are met, and carers receive a high-quality service in line with latest administrative and legislative guidance.

Aim of the Role
This funding will allow us to work with Letchworth Food Bank and the Letchworth community to ensure that food bank users and local residents can access and engage with the specialist advice that many of them need. This project aims to overcome the barriers to accessing Citizens Advice that exist for some food bank users and local residents through the provision of a presence at our local food banks and an offer of local help through partnership working.
The adviser will provide clients with specialist debt and benefits advice and casework tailored to the client’s capability and the complexity of the issues. They will work to improve clients’ financial positions by maximising clients’ income including advice and support with applying for relevant benefits, advice on debt management options, basic budgeting advice, and advice on managing energy bills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide advice up to casework level on debt management, financial capability and welfare benefits, ensuring that the work conforms to required quality standards.
- Research and apply debt strategy, options and implications, so that clients can make informed decisions.
- Act for clients where necessary or make appropriate referrals.
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records.
- Keep up to date with relevant legislation and policy changes.
- Meet project targets, keeping accurate data for statistical and reporting purposes.
- Ensure all work conforms to their systems and procedures.
About You:
- Knowledge in all areas of money advice, financial capability and welfare rights.
- Strong understanding of UK welfare benefits system and debt solutions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good practical knowledge of IT systems for case recording, internet/emails, and online resources.
- Ability to understand statistics and check accuracy of calculations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Certified DRO Intermediary is desirable.

My Life TV is our specialist on-demand streaming service, specifically designed to meet the cognitive needs of people living with dementia, for use within care settings and at home.
My Life Films is seeking a Finance Manager to ensure the organisation is compliant with all statutory and regulatory requirements with regards to the main charity and its subsidiary. The post-holder is responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective management of the organisation’s finances, including accurate reporting and maintenance and development of financial systems and processes that are fit for purpose.
You will have plenty of autonomy to manage your workload and diary, and to succeed in this role you will need to be a self-starter with plenty of enthusiasm and drive. You will be part of a small, dynamic team, who work very collaboratively and supportively.
Key Responsibilities – include but not limited to
• Ensure that appropriate financial policies and procedures are in place to deliver effective financial management to guide the organisation’s financial decision making
• Complete and submit information to Companies House and the Charity Commission as required by statutory regulations and requirements
• Maintain appropriate accounting systems, control and records, ensuring compliance with statutory and related accounting and tax regulations and requirements
• Process monthly payroll and pensions and oversee VAT and corporation tax returns by external accountants
• Maintain records to meet legal and financial requirements and sufficient to measure, monitor and evaluate financial plans in relation to both inputs and outputs of the organisation’s operations
• Provide a bookkeeping service and regular information for use by Trustees, Directors and Senior Management in planning and controlling the work of My Life Films and its subsidiary, including producing quarterly management accounts
• Manage the organisation’s relationship with bankers, external accountants, and investment and other financial advisors effectively
• Manage the relationship with the insurers, ensuring that the company has the appropriate insurance policies in place
• Oversee the statutory annual financial statements and reports prepared by external accountants, complete annual reporting on a timely basis and manage the annual independent examination and audit process
• Ensure the security and confidential storage of all financial and legal documents
• Attend and contribute to internal meetings, training sessions, external events and Board Meetings as required
