The Role
As Head of Programmes and Impact, you will:

Oversee programme delivery – ensuring our current initiatives, from early years to secondary transition, run smoothly and achieve the best outcomes.

Lead design and development of future programmes that respond to the needs of disadvantaged families across Maritime schools.

Embed impact and evaluation – creating a clear Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) framework that captures both data and lived experience.

Demonstrate impact – producing reports that inspire funders, inform strategy, and showcase the difference we are making.

Collaborate with stakeholders – from schools and community groups to funders and local authorities, ensuring our work is evidence-based and community-led.

You’ll report directly to the CEO and work closely with the Partnership Lead and the wider Maritime Academy Trust central team, as well as spending time in our 13 schools to see our programmes in action.

What the role involves
1. Ensuring that there are regular training opportunities for both new starters and those requiring refresher sessions or updates when new functions or forms are released. As CEO, you will:
- Act as a credible spokesperson for CTG with government, HMRC, charities and the media
- Work with our Technical Advisor to sustain CTG’s authority and expertise
- Lead on fundraising and income diversification to ensure financial sustainability
- Help establish a vision and operational plan for the future of CTG
Who we are looking for
We are seeking an agile, outward-facing leader who can represent CTG at the highest level.

- Knowledge of charity tax, or the ability to learn and communicate complex detail quickly

We are open to recruiting a leader who might be working towards some of the skills we are seeking, and have an excellent board of Trustees, and a strong technical advisor who can support any new CEO to develop.
We can provide exceptional levels of flexibility to the successful candidate, with most of the role being able to be fulfilled remotely; however, there will be instances where we also require flexibility, such as when we need to provide time-sensitive responses to the media.

What will I be doing?
As Project Officer, Physics Workforce, you’ll be part of the Education and Workforce team, supporting our mission to build a strong, diverse physics workforce for the future. Your work will help identify and address the skills needs of physics-powered sectors and highlight the vital role physics skills play in our economy.
You’ll support the delivery of projects, research and evidence-building activities that influence education, skills policy and practice, working closely colleagues across the organisation, members and other external stakeholders.
Projects you may work on include:
- Supporting research to map skills gaps in physics-powered industries
- Coordinating stakeholder networks across education, skills, higher education, and business sectors
- Helping to design and deliver events, research launches, and campaigns that drive engagement and impact
- Supporting the management of project processes including contracts, tenders, budgets and reporting

Youth Participation Officer
Fitzrovia Youth in Action is looking for an experienced, passionate and enthusiastic person for our Youth Participation Officer role. If you feel like this is you, we would love to hear from you!
The post holder will manage and develop youth-led community projects in which young people develop their leadership and employability skills through becoming actively involved in their community and participating in self-directed community action. The successful candidate will oversee the development and delivery of several youth-led community projects, primarily the organisation of youth-led community events, but might also include elements of other youth-led activities, such as youth action team, health champions and ambassadors.
For example, typically, this would involve working with groups of around 10 young people in each cohort and support them to deliver their community event project over a 12-week period. Examples of events include youth-led football tournaments, street parties and our community Christmas dinner. This post will be part of the delivery team overseeing self-directed community action projects. The post holder may also support drop-in sessions and other activities aimed at engaging young people and referring them onto the youth-led community action programme.
