We now have an exciting new role for a Wildlife and Wellbeing Officer to join our Conservation Education and Engagement Directorate. This role is part of the Networks for Nature project team.

Networks for Nature spans c60 square miles from the River Dee to the River Mersey, including Chester and Ellesmere Port. This is a collaborative partnership project working with Cheshire West and Chester Council, The Land Trust, Cheshire Wildlife Trust, Canal and River Trust, and Sustrans with the aim to drive nature recovery in a mixed-use landscape, creating diverse habitats for species to thrive now and for years to come. As a Wildlife and Wellbeing Officer, you’ll work closely with the Wildlife and Wellbeing Assistant Manager and Networks for Nature project staff to engage and empower communities to make a real impact on conservation efforts and to improve access to nature. You will support with maintaining and establishing community relationships, supporting the development and delivery of a programme of wildlife and wellbeing activities and supporting in building the capacity of community groups, community leaders and other stakeholders within the Networks for Nature project area. You will deliver a broad range of activities, including Family Wildlife Clubs, Wildlife and Wellbeing Clubs, Community Action Days, activities linked to Green Social Prescribing and activity stands within community settings.

Due to the working rota of 10 days in 14 and working every other weekend, there will be some cross-over between the activities delivered within this role and the Community Volunteer Officer role.
 

We’re looking for someone who can:

• Activity Planning & Delivery: Help plan and run a broad programme of wildlife and wellbeing activities to community groups, including Family Wildlife Clubs, Wildlife and Wellbeing Clubs, Conservation Action Days, activities linked to Green Social Prescribing and activity stands at community events. Effectively adapting each activity to meet the needs of each group.
• Community Relationships: Develop and maintain relationships with community groups to support their continued participation in the project and commitment to creating habitats for UK Wildlife. Including administrative support, dealing with queries via email and telephone and attending meetings, consultations and networking events.
• Content Creation: Research and contribute to the development of resources and new engagement activities designed to support participation in the Networks for Nature project.
• Measuring Impact: Work closely with the Wildlife and Wellbeing Assistant Manager to support in the delivery of an evaluation programme for the Networks for Nature project, including collection and collation of data from project participants, initial analysis of results and presenting findings to key stakeholders.
• Safety & Risk Assessments: With support from the Wildlife and Wellbeing Assistant Manager, ensure that all activities are safe and appropriately risk assessed.
• Developing Expertise: Proactively develop own expertise as a conservation educator, focused on community engagement, UK wildlife and nature and wellbeing.

The Opportunity:

This is where this new role comes in: The Head of Fundraising will play a crucial role in supporting the stewardship of the current donors while also securing the vital resources needed to realise our bold ambition and help us transform the lives of millions of young refugees and conflict affected youth across the globe.

As an Interpretation and Digital Officer, you'll work closely and collaboratively with a wide range of in-zoo teams including the Networks for Nature project staff, Interpretation, Digital Learning, Marketing, PR, Fundraising, and will also link with the project partners. You’ll be responsible for the development of interpretation and promotional materials for the project. This will include interpretation materials at partner and community sites, resources for event activities and promotion of the project via e-newsletters, social media and other digital channels, such as the Wild Wander app.

We’re looking for someone who can:

• Develop content for interpretation elements across the landscape, working with designers and overseeing installation.

Changing Faces is seeking a motivated Health Professional Engagement Officer to join our Services Team. This exciting part-time role takes the lead in our professional liaison work to educate health and social care professionals regarding the impact of visible difference and raising their awareness of the important work of the charity.

Main purpose of the role

The main purpose is to develop and maintain relationships with HCPs to:

• increase awareness of the impact of visible difference and educate them in how to effectively support patients
• ensure understanding of the Changing Faces service offers and how to access these
• encourage them to sign up to regular updates and news and stay engaged with us.

This will be done by building and retaining relationships with HCPs via NHS departments, organisations and societies within the field of visible difference; finding ways to keep HCPs on our mailing list engaged and interested in our news; and by providing information, meetings, education and talks both in person and online.

Changing Faces is the UK’s leading charity for everyone who has a mark, scar or condition that makes them look different (a visible difference). Being different in a society where there is such pressure to look a certain way is extremely difficult.

People with visible differences are vulnerable to isolation, loneliness, social anxiety and low self-esteem. They face staring, unwanted attention and even bullying and hate crime. They experience lowered expectations in education, problems getting work and stereotyping in the media. This can have a devastating, and lasting, impact on their wellbeing. CAFOD’s mission in the Catholic community of England and Wales is to inspire and equip Catholics to actively engage in the Church’s efforts to overcome poverty and injustice. Our regional teams focus on recruiting and supporting a dedicated group of volunteers within parish and school communities, empowering them to educate, engage, and inspire others to act in solidarity for the common good. Regional teams also collaborate with clergy and other representatives across the Catholic community to ensure CAFOD’s volunteer programme is aligned with faith life.

The primary purpose of this role is to provide administrative and communications support to the Community Participation Coordinators across England and Wales, with a focus on the West & Wales region as the first point of contact. This includes coordinating administrative tasks performed by office volunteers and identifying opportunities for process improvements. The role also involves volunteer recruitment administration, overseeing and training Office Volunteers, and ensuring effective database management.

This role can be based anywhere in the UK including our head office in London, working from home, from one of CAFOD’s Volunteer Centres, or a combination of both. As the go-to person for admin excellence and volunteer support, you’ll work closely with your line manager and colleagues in the East to streamline processes, improve systems, and keep everything running like clockwork.

You’ll lead on volunteer recruitment and engagement—welcoming new volunteers, managing onboarding, and ensuring everyone feels valued, equipped, and inspired to support CAFOD’s work. Purpose of the role

Job Description: Training and Events Officer

The Training and Events Officer will play a key role developing and delivering high quality professional development, training, events, workshops to SLA members and wider audiences. The postholder will develop inspirational, insightful and innovative routes to supporting SLA members to deliver on their school library provision remit, enabling children and young people to reach their full potential. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about school libraries, education and training.

You will work with the CEO, SLA colleagues and key stakeholders to develop and deliver a comprehensive training offer, including leading on logistics planning and delivery of our flagship annual conference. In addition, you will develop and maintain a calendar of exciting events and opportunities to share knowledge and insight, working with colleagues to ensure the offer is timely and informative. A confident facilitator and coordinator, you will be comfortable leading on training delivery, or recruiting and working with external facilitators in order to achieve specific outcomes.  Creative, with a flair for spotting opportunities for professional development, you will have a keen eye for detail and an ability to manage multiple workstreams and deadlines. Resource creation will be second-nature to you and you’ll be comfortable writing for adults and children, and young people.

Duties include:

• Logistics planning and delivery of the flagship event, SLA Annual Conference (currently called the Weekend Course) providing high quality professional development and networking opportunities to members 
• With CEO and key stakeholders, supporting the development of a comprehensive, engaging and exciting conference programme and recruit 40 exhibitors, plus event speakers as needed
• Supporting development of the training strategy working with the CEO to define aims and objectives
• Developing and maintaining a calendar of training, workshops and events aligned with the training strategy, working with the CEO and SLA colleagues, in particular the Outreach Support Officer

We now have an exciting new role for a Community Volunteer Officer to join our Conservation Education and Engagement Directorate. This role is part of the Networks for Nature project team.

Networks for Nature spans c60 square miles from the River Dee to the River Mersey, including Chester and Ellesmere Port. This is a collaborative partnership project working with Cheshire West and Chester Council, The Land Trust, Cheshire Wildlife Trust, Canal and River Trust, and Sustrans with the aim to drive nature recovery in a mixed-use landscape, creating diverse habitats for species to thrive now and for years to come. As a Community Volunteer Officer, you'll work closely with the Community Volunteer Assistant Manager and Networks for Nature project staff to engage and empower volunteers to make a real impact on conservation efforts. You’ll be responsible for day-to-day volunteer administration, recruitment, and support, while helping to deliver exciting activities, including hands-on conservation projects and training sessions. • Event Planning & Delivery: Help plan and run volunteer events, training, and networking opportunities for community volunteers and Wildlife Champions.
• Logistical Support: Provide support for activities like networking, micro-volunteering, and conservation action days, from small coffee mornings to large events for up to 250 participants.
• Engagement Monitoring: Track participant feedback through surveys and regular check-ins. Collate data about participation in community activities, share data with funders and internal teams.

Role: Communications Officer (Social, Website, Email & PR)

Reporting to: Brand and Content Adviser or Communications Adviser - depending on location of successful applicant

The opportunity

We are searching for a Communications Officer, with a focus on Social, Email and Website, to grow the profile and impact of United for Global Mental Health (UnitedGMH) and Global Mental Health Action Network (GMHAN) brands to accelerate action on mental health around the world. 

About Us

United for Global Mental Health is dedicated to creating a world that enables good mental health for all. We draw on our expertise in policy, advocacy, and financing to work with organisations who share our commitment to driving mental health up the political agenda - and securing additional funding for mental health at national and global level. We founded and act as the secretariat for the Global Mental Health Action Network, an open coalition of mental health professionals of over 6,000 individuals and organisations across 133 countries. 

About you 

Our ideal candidate is a great communicator, with experience in content planning, social media content creation and management, newsletter copywriting, website management, and graphic design. They should be well-versed in crafting narratives for a variety of audiences and outputs, and managing an organisational communications calendar.

The role 

Key components of the role include: 

1. Social media content development - collaborate with internal subject specialists to produce consistent and frequent on-brand written and visual content for social channels, in support of brand and advocacy goals. You’ll use Canva and Adobe Creative Suite and AgoraPulse for this. 

2. Content briefing - craft high-quality creative briefs (for copy, design, multimedia) to be followed by internal staff or external suppliers where required.

3. Email - develop, write and send UnitedGMH’s regular email newsletter, working with internal staff to source news, updates and relevant content tailored for email subscribers.

4. Website development - develop, maintain and update content for UnitedGMH and GMHAN websites, including uploading content and editing pages.

5. Video and audio production: Develop consistent, platform-appropriate video and audio content streams, from short-form videos to the creation of new podcasts.

6. Social media channel and community management - lead on day-to-day management and posting on UnitedGMH and GMHAN social media channels, including X, LinkedIn, Bluesky, Instagram. Manage paid social campaigns where required. Use monitoring tools to manage social media comments (organic and paid), as well as newsletter email replies.

7. Brand guardian: Be a firm steward of UnitedGMH and GMHAN brands, helping to ensure consistent application of visual identity and tone of voice across all external organisational outputs, maintaining high standards of design.

8. Monitoring, evaluation, and reporting - create regular analytic reports for social and email channels with data-driven recommendations as to how outputs can be continuously improved. 

9. Editorial planning and communications calendar management - lead on the maintenance, updating and adjusting of the organisation’s communications calendar, to drive consistent, planned-in-advance content across channels in support of brand building and key advocacy moments. 

10. Team support - support the communications team through project management, meeting management, processing supplier invoices, keeping journalist lists up-to-date, and other responsibilities where needed. 

Requirements 

• Understanding, and experience in use, of online channels (incl. website content management systems (CMS) such as Wordpress and Squarespace, a broad spectrum of social media platforms and email marketing through Mailchimp) 

• An excellent copywriter, with demonstrable experience crafting copy for different audiences - including for social media and email newsletters

• Strong research and proofreading skills, adapted to key audiences

• Comfortable prioritising and delivering on multiple pieces of work against tight timeframes

• Highly organised individual with experience of team administration support 

• A “doer”- ability to anticipate requirements and act to provide workable solutions with limited budget 

• A good knowledge of CRM systems.

• An understanding of using digital project management tools e.g. Trello

• An interest in mental health, advocacy and international development

• Strong relationship management skills

• Willingness to travel at least twice per annum and more if required

Desirable 

• Experience working in an advocacy / international NGO environment within a fast-paced globally distributed staff team

• Demonstrable experience in working with journalists

• A communications-related qualification or vocational experience

• Additional language skills (note the position requires fluent English)
