Job description

Taunton Foodbank works in partnership with local churches and our generous local community to reduce the impact of poverty and hardship on local people.  The Foodbank is affliated to Trussell, a leading anti-poverty charity, and we share their vision for a time when no-one in the UK needs a foodbank to survive.


The charity is governed by a Board of Trustees and is now embarking on an exciting new phase of growth and development.

We are looking for a passionate and experienced Senior Manager to join our team and lead Taunton Foodbank into the next phase of growth.
As part of our re-organized staffing structure, this role offers the exciting opportunity to:
●  shape the future direction of the organisation
● expand our services beyond just emergency food
● Provide much needed support to clients in various aspects of their lives
Key Responsibilities
● Lead and manage the expansion of our services to support clients facing difficult circumstances.
● Work closely with the Operations Supervisor to ensure the smooth operation of food distribution and warehouse functions.
● Oversee the strategic development of Taunton Foodbank, ensuring that we remain responsive and effective in meeting the needs of our community.
● Support and work with a small team of paid staff and many dedicated volunteers.
● Innovate and bring fresh ideas to the organization  to drive positive change and growth.
Key Requirements
● Experience in managing teams and projects within the charity sector or a related field.
● A passion for supporting those in need and a strong commitment to community development.
● The ability to work strategically and practically, leading an expanding organization through its next phase of growth.
● Excellent organisational, communication, and leadership skills.
● Experience working in foodbanks or with community-based services is desirable but not essential
