About the role
We are looking Recovery Support Workers to join our excellent team in Hounslow. As the successful candidate you will have a passion for supporting some of the most vulnerable individuals in the borough, supporting residents around their strengths and aspirations.
The Hounslow LIFE service is a large multi-site service supporting clients, covering specialisms such as Homelessness, Substance Use and Mental Health.
In the role of Recovery Support Worker, you will be working with our clients on their road to recovery, aiding clients to gain the necessary skills to move on from our services and into suitable accommodation. You will assist a caseload of clients, supporting them to maintain independence in the community, build on their skills for employment, manage their own health needs, and look towards a brighter future. You will also have some housing management responsibilities as part of ensuring we deliver safe, high quality services.
Please note, due to the needs of all our services, there is a requirement to work a mixed-shift rolling rota, so flexibility is required. This will include some evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
About you
To succeed in this highly rewarding role you would benefit if you:
- Have an understanding of the issues faced by homeless or vulnerably housed people – you may have had personal experience of homelessness yourself.
- Have experience of helping vulnerable people to identify personal goals and supporting them through a process of change.

About the role:
Dennis Handfield House is a 39-bed service within the Camden adult pathway, supporting men and women with multiple and complex needs. We’re recruiting two Project Workers to join a skilled, multidisciplinary team including Complex Needs Workers, a Specialist Worker, Day Concierge, Night Team, and access to a Work and Learning Worker and Psychotherapist shared across SHP. Together, the team creates a supportive, purposeful environment where people are given the time, consistency and respect needed to move forward.

About you:
- A good understanding of substance use is essential and an awareness of harm minimisation strategies and an understanding of a Strengths and Recovery model is desirable; a good understanding of the Cycle of Change.

- The sensitivity and flexibility to find ways to work with clients who may have a low level of engagement with the service.
- A level of numeracy, literacy and comprehension to do welfare benefit, rent and petty cash calculations, write letters, and analyse and extrapolate from written information.

The position is a dual role. You’ll join as one of three dedicated Youth Workers and will lead on a portion of Free to Be Kids’ year-round follow-on support for vulnerable young people who we have already engaged via our Thrive Outside residentials. Crucially, a core aspect of the role will be leading an average of 8-10 of our residential projects across each year - working on the ground with the children, leading the volunteers, and helping make the projects special, safe, and transformative for vulnerable young people, many of whom have complex needs. You’ll be joining a small staff team of 9, supplemented by a vibrant and committed group of volunteers.
Attendance at approximately 8-10 five-six night residential projects per year outside London is a core component of this role. A full driving licence is not required but may be an advantage.

On offer to the right candidate:
Salary: Circa £29,000-£32,000, dependent on experience.
Hours: Fulltime: 37.5 hours per week. Essential attendance on at c.8-10 residential projects a year.
Leave: 25 days per year, plus bank holidays and up to 13 additional pre-set discretionary reward days in September and during the Christmas period.
Other benefits: 4% employer pension contribution paid on full base salary, rising by 1% per year of service, up to a maximum of 7%, hybrid working, office with great transport links, flexible working (outside core hours), employee reward scheme, a tight-knit effective team with great morale.
Based: Hybrid – our small office in Waterloo, London. Hybrid working is well established with the majority of the team splitting time around 50:50 between the office and home.

Who we’re looking for:
Our next Youth Work hero. You'll be fun, active, energised, resilient, and experienced in work with young people with complex needs, and looking to join an organisation you can believe in and who in return will believe and invest in you.
You’ll have multi years’ experience working alongside young people who might struggle in other settings and will be used to dealing with a range of behaviours and complex support needs, ideally including mental health support needs,with a good understanding of safeguarding. A basic level of comfortableness in the outdoors, resilience to keep going with a smile when it's wet outside, and the silliness to be the first to jump into the lake will see you in good stead for this role.
You’ll have the flexibility to work away from home on up to 10 week-long residential projects per year. Ideally, you’ll also have experience of leading projects for children – whether residential or non-residential. Experience of working on or leading residentials projects themselves is not required but may be an advantage.
We are a small, vibrant, fun and friendly staff team of 9, growing to 11 when these 2 Youth Worker vacancies are filled, supported by a committed volunteer base of around 200.

In this role you will;
- Prepare, cook, and serve meals for 20–40 residents, meeting nutritional and dietary requirements.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in line with St Mungo’s Food Hygiene Procedures.
- Involve clients in designing new menus, taking on feedback and discussing client requests including looking at ways to add diverse options.
- Monitor food and cleaning supplies, ensuring stock levels are maintained.

Herts Young Homeless is an independent charity and has been supporting vulnerable people in Hertfordshire since 1998. We are professional, passionate, collaborative and supportive charity that provides guidance to everyone who is in need of support.
We are looking for two dedicated and passionate Advice and Information Worker to join our team based in Hatfield! You will be the first point of contact for anyone needing to access the ‘hyh hub’ and will ensure that all referrals are triaged to identify the most effective pathway for support. The worker will deliver accurate advice and information to young people, parents and professionals, and work undertaken in a coordinated timely manner. You will carry out appropriate assessments, with other agencies where needed, to assess the needs of the family to prevent family breakdown and homelessness.
Role Responsibilities:
- Manage a varied, short term case load with conflicting deadlines
- To offer realistic advice and options to young people, family members and professionals to prevent family breakdown and homelessness, identifying any other needs within the process.
- To carry out service user assessments under the JHP and liaise with statutory agencies, non-statutory agencies and family members to assist with a planned move on/secure accommodation for
16/17 year olds as required.
- Develop and maintain smooth, accurate pathways on the database for gathering and maintaining all relevant service user and statistical information
- To chair and coordinate family meetings, housing support meetings and liaison meetings with other agencies as required
- To liaise and refer into Crashpad as required and work within the set timescales
- Alongside team members and external partners, co-ordinate and implement focused action plans, working with families for a maximum of 6 weeks
- Working in strengths based way, support 16/17 year olds to advocate for themselves when appropriate and necessary
- Carry out the necessary follow-up work and write ups of service users files
- Encourage and promote a planned approach to solving conflict alongside the ‘hyh hub’ and explore the mediation / family link worker processes to young people and their families, in line with the ‘single pathway’ model.
As a successful candidate you will have...
- A full driving license and use of own car or motorbike for business purposes (Compulsory)

The successful applicant will have experience working closely with a range of services to support individuals to address and/or recover from their dependence on drugs and or alcohol. Or have expertise in supporting customers with complex mental health needs, including dual diagnosis, forensic histories, and personality disorders.
Specialist Support Workers within Look Ahead are required to have either an extra dimension of experience or a higher qualification level as determined relevant for the post. Specialist Support Workers provide information, social inclusion and vocational opportunities to support people to recover and stay well; exercise choice and control in their care and lives; and participate on an equal footing in the community. Support is also provided to develop a model of re-enablement towards self-advocacy, self-management and empowerment, incorporating the principles and practice of recovery, co-production and peer support. Working with individuals with complex needs, who may display challenging, chaotic behaviours, regularly test boundaries and have experienced multiple traumas as a result of abuse, neglect and substance misuse and addictions it is integral that the post holder is motivated to support individuals to progress. They should continually hold aspirations for individuals despite multiple setbacks, and display emotional resilience, able to process challenging incidents and remain motivated to deliver excellent support.
You will have excellent knowledge of harm reduction techniques and various treatment approaches for addiction and be confident in the use of these approaches. These should include but are not limited to medication treatment, behavioural counselling and relapse prevention. You will also provide information, social inclusion and vocational opportunities to support people to recover and stay well; exercise choice and control in their care and lives; and participate on an equal footing in the community. Provision of care and support is also provided to develop a model of re-enablement towards self-advocacy, self-management and empowerment, incorporating the principles and practice of recovery, co-production and peer support. Post holders will deliver trauma informed and asset-based support to a caseload of up to 4 complex service users with substance misuse support needs. - The caseload is subject to change depending on the service needs. Shifts are - Early 8-4pm late 2pm-10pm Monday to Friday and double or 8am-3pm/3pm-10pm Saturday and Sunday. With some mid shifts. Working days also includes bank holidays.

We are looking to appoint a Family Support Worker for a fixed term period of up to 12 months, on a full time basis (35 hours per week) to deliver a high-quality family support service as part of our Essex Care Team.

We work with a trauma-informed, survivor led framework with intersectional feminism at the core.
The Tower Hamlets Domestic Abuse Service provides emergency accommodation to women and children fleeing domestic and sexual violence. As a refuge support worker you will provide emotional and practical support, such as legal options, housing, benefits and signposting.

About the role
As one of the Lead Worker you will play a role in supporting people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness by providing assessment, coaching advice and advocacy, whilst linking individuals into services that provide support.
The key to success will be your ability to make collaborative, consistent and psychologically informed relationships with services, colleagues, and partner organisations. You will have the ability to empower and upskill service users to be proactive in their accommodation search. You will provide support with practical aspects of their route out of homeless, including access to housing, benefits, and other relevant needs. You will Lead Work a caseload and provide effective case management in line with the Crisis Case Management Framework.
Skills, knowledge, and experience vital to succeeding in this role:
- Passionate about and dedicated to ending homelessness.
- Comprehensive understanding and experience of accessing housing via private rented sector, local authorities, housing associations, supported providers and others.
- Good knowledge of issues affecting homeless people, including housing, welfare issues, trauma, substance use, involvement in criminal justice services, and social isolation
- Proven track record of successfully using coaching, IAG or psychologically informed approaches with people who have experience homelessness.

We are currently looking for someone to join our Assessment Centre based in Lewisham as a Project Worker.
Working in this roles, your key responsibilities will be to:
