About the Role
The National Youth Agency (NYA) is looking to recruit a group of enthusiastic Youth Consultants. In this role you will be integral in shaping the services and strategies that cater to young people and your responsibilities will span various critical areas.
Initially, you will engage in and facilitate training sessions, imparting essential youth participation training to various stakeholders.
Communication is key; you will regularly liaise with both internal staff and external organisations to promote collaboration and ensure all activities align with our youth-centered mission.

As a Youth Consultant you will:
- Participate in training and delivering youth participation training.
- Liaise and communicate with internal staff and external organisations.
- Attend bi-weekly meetings in the evenings.
- Review internal processes, documents, systems and structures.
- Support the development and delivery of our youth participation strategy.
- Host workshops and events for the NYA as and when needed.
- Support the governance structure of the NYA.
- Advocate the work of the NYA and develop relationships with organisations.
- Support the implementation and delivery of youth participation.
- Generate new ideas and implement creative outlooks for the NYA for meaningful outcomes.

Last year we saw a 133% growth in the numbers of young people facing homelessness coming through our doors. Now, nearly half of them are - or recently have been - sleeping rough and with the numbers of young rough sleepers in the capital growing at an alarming rate, New Horizon Youth Centre has had to take decisive action to unlock support and housing for this group. The Head of Services - Rough Sleeping is a brand-new role for the organisation and will lead on developing a new internal strategy for young people facing rough sleeping, as well as holding operational oversight of our established youth-specific street outreach function and emergency accommodation hub, both of which are unique in London. You will need to be strategic in approach and an excellent relationship builder. You will act as our lead colleague on relationships with the Greater London Authority and London Councils’ rough sleeping teams, working with them to ensure our learning and insights inform policy and ultimately open up access to emergency support for those under 25. Alongside this you will need a keen eye for operational detail, have experience of delivering homelessness services, and be passionate about piloting new solutions to prevent homelessness among young people. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Specialist Teaching Assistant to join our Education Team. Role Requirements
STL1 – Provide support for Learning Activities set by Classteacher & Senior Specialist Teaching Assistant
- To support learning activities for individual, groups or whole classes of pupils, leading activities under the direction of the teacher or Senior Teaching Assistant supporting the teacher in their delivery of lessons.
- To demonstrate our School Ethos and Pupil Charter throughout the School day.
- Holistically integrate education, health and care needs.
- Evaluate and record procedures for learning activities.
- To know individual learning targets for each pupil in the group(s) and take specific action to enable individual pupil goals be achieved.
- To attend to the general care, maintenance and storage of classroom equipment.
STL 2 – Support Children’s Development
- Observe pupils, sharing observational findings, contribute to the implementation of activities to support development.
- Actively contribute towards record-keeping particularly in respect of pupil learning, therapeutic interventions, behaviour management, child protection and any other specific programme set up for individual pupils by the teacher / Senior Specialist Teaching Assistant / Therapist.
STL 3 – Help to keep Children Safe
- Undertake annual safeguarding training.
- Adhere to the school’s Safeguarding and Child Protection procedures and policies. Recording incidents pertaining to pupil safety, including for illness, accidents and incidents, accepting that Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility and that ‘it could happen here’.
- Read relevant documentation / mandatory reads in relation to Keeping Children Safe In Education.
- Report any signs and indicators of possible abuse, being sensitive to the child/young person and circumstances, Identifying, report and record changes in behaviour and physical signs.

- Move and change individual’s positions in ways which minimise pain, discomfort and friction and maximise the individual’s independence, self-respect and dignity.
- Observe, record and immediately report any significant changes in the individual’s condition when you are moving them.
- Record details of methods of moving and handling which the individual finds acceptable according to legal and organisational requirements.
- Undertake therapeutic programmes that have been developed by physio and occupational therapists.
STL 14 – Support Individuals during Therapy Sessions
- Receive relevant training from therapists and then implement training and competencies throughout the pupils’ day.
- Be able to articulate the purpose of programmes and ensure their delivery in an integrated way.
- Work with individuals to identify the effectiveness of the therapy sessions on their health and social well-being.

You will be working as part of the Older Looked-after Young People (OLYP) team in Horsham looking after young people aged 16 -17 in a warm and homely environment. Young people come to us from a variety of backgrounds and have various and often complex needs. The team is made up of passionate and caring individuals, who work together to provide holistic support to the young people in our care, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Our specialist supported accommodation is a safe and secure environment where young people are supported to acquire the necessary skills in preparation for living independently and can safely explore their increased freedom and develop the responsibilities associated with adulthood.
As a Supported Housing Support Worker you will hold a caseload of residents, working with them on a one-to-one basis with also facilitating group work sessions. You will identify their needs by listening to them, with employing psychologically informed approaches to enable residents to make better choices and take responsibility for their actions. You will work closely with other services such as, Social Services, Police, Probation, education providers and local organisations. Our projects already have excellent working relationships with these services, and your role will build on these. You will be helping them to improve their practical living skills such as cleaning, budgeting, managing behaviour, seeking, and securing employment and making wise decisions. You will help to contribute to a great working environment, with a calm, yet assertive manner, being able to handle potentially difficult situations.
Based on site, this role is on a seven-day rolling rota, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays.

YMCA West Sussex Transitional Housing provides safe, secure accommodation for young people aged 18-25, who have been, or are at risk of homelessness. Our staff team comprises of Supported Housing Support Workers, Housing Mobile Night Workers and two Supported Housing Managers. We offer a support package alongside the accommodation to actively encourage residents into education, training, employment or voluntary work.
In delivering the role, you will work with the Deputy Supported Housing Manager and the wider housing team to provide effective day to day management of our transitional accommodation service. You will have your own caseload of residents, working creatively and effectively alongside young people to develop their assets and talents and to acquire the skills they need to live independent and fulfilling lives. You will contribute to the smooth and safe running of the service by providing consistency and reliability. Our Brighton & Hove Services provide supported accommodation for 50 young people at risk of homelessness across two sites. Lansworth House is one of our 24-hour supported housing projects offering high and medium levels of housing-related support for young people aged of 16- 25, with 20 bedspaces and shared communal facilities. We provide support to our residents to help them build essential life skills, identify their goals and work towards aspirations so that they can move on to enjoy fully independent futures. Each Support Worker holds a caseload of residents and meets with them weekly to build a support plan and help them achieve their goals.
In delivering the role, you will work on a rota shift pattern, ensuring young people at the service have non-judgemental, objective, and supportive staff during the day. You will work with the Managers and the wider housing team to provide effective day to day management of our accommodation project. This includes delivering one to one sessions and group work sessions to assist residents to develop personally and socially in order that they grow in confidence and move towards independence. We are looking for someone with the confidence to develop a new support offer for Surrey. This new post offers the opportunity to work in the WiSE team in Surrey in an exciting new role which has two strands to it; providing targeted early intervention peer group sessions to young people (up to 25 years,) who have been identified by their educational placement as being vulnerable too sexual or criminal exploitation. The role also entails working alongside Education and other agencies to prevent Violence Against Women and Girls by creating and facilitating training to teachers of the PSHE curriculum in both Primary and Secondary schools in Surrey. The successful applicant will be supported in the role through Reflective Supervision Practice, along with regular one-to-ones.

We are seeking an experienced Rent Officer to join our small, dispersed Rent Team which consists of a Rent Team Leader; two Rent Officers, and two part-time Rent Team Administrators which sits within our Housing and Property services. In conjunction with our Supported Housing services, the Rent Team is responsible for the collection of the organisation's rent and other property charges.
