In this role, you will provide structured support in response to identified needs as documented in each young person’s Developmental Support Plan, equipping them with the confidence and skills to work towards living as independently and sustainably as possible. You will provide a trauma-informed approach, involving the supported individual, devising, reviewing and updating developmental support plans, recording events and observations and keeping appropriate records as required by the service. You will respond/attend to emergency situations that arise in other services and will have a full understanding of the on-call process.

Support Workers will provide support to customers to help them develop the life skills they require to meet the assessed needs of the customers of the service. The Heaney Cluster an intensively supported housing scheme for the most challenging customers in the borough. The majority of the customers come with a history of entrenched rough sleeping; often coupled with enduring mental health difficulties. Core Fostering Form F Assessing Social Worker Tasks include:

The Post

Specialist Behavioural Support Workers are responsible for the customer's emotional, psychological wellbeing as well as providing support to help them develop the life skills they require to meet the assessed needs. At Nimrod House, this will include providing physical, emotional, domestic, and social care. We are seeking a motivated and experienced individual to take responsibility for the day-to-day work of our innovative Hearing Voices Projects. To be successful in this role, you need to have an in-depth understanding of the Hearing Voices Movement and the role of peer support groups within this. You will ideally have experience of supervising or mentoring volunteers and some project management experience.
With the confidence and organisational skills necessary to take the lead on busy and diverse projects, you will be required to engage with a wide range of stakeholders (from the adult mental health, prison, forensic and youth sectors). As such, this role is best suited to someone who is flexible enough to modify their approach to suit the situation.
We are looking for someone with strong facilitation skills who is able to deliver and design training that communicates the values of the Hearing Voices Network clearly and accessibly.
Among other tasks, you will be required to:
- Oversee the current Hearing Voices Projects to ensure they are consistent and embody the Mind in Camden and Hearing Voices Movement ethos.
- Be part of some of the frontline work, including facilitating groups.
- Build networks and deliver training sessions for the Hearing Voices Projects.
- Liaise with the finance department and ensure the projects are meeting targets for funders.
- Support relevant data monitoring and evaluation on the projects.
