Job description

Job Title:Support Worker

Contract:Full-time or Part-time

Hours:Up to 39 hours per week

Salary:£9.01 per hour / £18,322.25 pro-rata

If you are a confident, warm and friendly person, with a passion to support people, who can be flexible and adapt to different situations we would like you to join our team. This is a genuinely rewarding role where no two days are the same.  The people we support are leaders of their own lives.

Who are Thera Group?

Thera is a group of charitable companies which support people with a learning disability at home, in the community, at work and for short breaks. We want to demonstrate that people with a learning disability can be leaders in society, but we can’t do this without you! We need Support Workers in the Banbury area to make our vision a reality.

What does a Support Worker do?

The role of a Support Worker is to ensure the people we work with are safe, happy and lead fulfilling lives. They provide consistent and flexible approaches to the people we support and are always striving for positive outcomes.

Supporting someone with a learning disability isn’t just personal care; it’s so much more. They design their support, are encouraged to be part of their community, explore new opportunities and are supported to be as independent as possible.

What experience do I need?

Previous Support Worker experience is desirable, but not essential as full training and support will be ongoing. You will need to be comfortable making decisions, working alone, and be happy to communicate effectively with colleagues, families and external agencies.

We offer a variety of full and part time hours.  If you are a Driver with a full UK driving licence, this is desired but not essential

What are the Benefits?

  • 20 days holiday + 8 days bank holiday

  • Continuous professional development (NVQ Funding)

  • Career progression

  • Contributory Pension Plan

  • Occupational Maternity Pay

  • DBS paid for by Thera

  • Employee support line to support you and your family

We also offer an employee benefits scheme, which includes:

  • Cycle to Work Scheme

  • Health Cash Plan

  • Access to Thousands of Retail Discounts

If you would like to know more details about this role, please click the job description below. If you would like to discuss any other career opportunities within The Camden Society, please call me for an informal chat.

We reserve the right to close this advert before the closing deadline if we interview and offer the right candidate. Apply now to avoid disappointment.
