Abbots Bank is a mental health, supported housing and community based service, working to a recovery model. We provide a range of support services for people with mental ill health to access in their local community, including outreach support, peer support and supported housing. They will preferably have experience of working with both adults, children and young people. The Rape and Sexual Abuse Support Centre (Rape Crisis South London) is looking for a committed, professional and skilled Helpline Support worker to provide high quality emotional support, information and signposting in our Support Line team.

The 24/7 Rape and Sexual Abuse Support Line is a partnership between Rape Crisis England and Wales, the Rape and Sexual Abuse support Centre (RASASC - Rape Crisis South London) and two other Rape Crisis Centres (ARCH Teesside and Lincolnshire Rape Crisis). The post-holder for this role is employed by RASASC (Rape Crisis South London).

The post-holder will provide emotional support, information and signposting to survivors of any form of sexual violence, of any gender, aged 16 and upwards, and their supporters via phone calls and chats. Helpline Support Workers also provide support to colleagues and volunteers as part of their daily duties. Helpline Support workers have experience of either providing emotional support on a telephone helpline or experience providing support to survivors of sexual violence. You will also need to have good knowledge and understanding of the impact of sexual violence.

A bit about the role:

Support Worker’s 

As a Support Worker, you’ll play a pivotal role in providing practical and emotional support to women and men who are experiencing or have experienced domestic abuse (both in the refuge and throughout the local community). You’ll work with clients to assess needs and risks and plan a package of support and risk management individual to them.  

Some of the other duties involve: 

• Assessing referrals for both community and refuge based services 

• Supporting the delivery of group work both in refuge and local community 

• Travelling throughout service delivery area to deliver support and attendance at multi-agency meetings and work in partnership with other agencies where required to advocate for their clients and ensure risk is managed and support needs are met (e.g.: social care; police; CAB; housing departments; Job Centre and Benefits agencies) 

• Working with colleagues to provide a clean and welcoming environment for all accessing our services 

• Ensuring records (computer based case management system) are kept up to date and accurate – basic IT skills and knowledge of IT systems are advantageous!

Move On Support Worker’s 

As a domestic abuse move on worker you’ll support individuals and families within our safe accommodation to transition into settled accommodation. You’ll provide a tailored, person-centred support package to help customers achieve their goals and live a life free from abuse.  

Some other duties include: 

• Prepare customers to move on from safe accommodation services and deliver support, both in groups and one-to-one, to enable them to manage their own tenancy. 

• Support customers to set up their own home, assisting them to set up utility accounts and other household obligations. 

• Provide emotional support and reassurance to survivors and their families around their move from safe refuge. 

• Working with survivors on the transition from refuge to their own property safely, engaging in robust safety planning and risk assessing and identification. 

• Provide housing management and welfare benefit support and guidance, as well as signposting and making referrals to appropriate agencies. 

• Identifying and keeping an up-to-date register of local and national grants available to survivors in furnishing/ moving to their new home Establish and maintain quality working relationships to enable multi-agency support. 

• Engage actively with safeguarding initiatives and Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conference (MARAC) frameworks, referring clients, attending meetings, and following up on agreed actions. 

• Foster positive partnerships within the multi-agency arena, working collaboratively across operational areas and the local community to raise awareness of domestic abuse issues and available support options. 

• Working in a client-centred way to identify appropriate local and community groups that can support/ assist the survivor to integrate into their new community safely. 

• Liaise with, signpost or refer to relevant statutory and voluntary agencies, advocating for the best possible support for each survivor. 

• Undertake relevant training, ensuring continuous professional development and staying informed about the latest industry knowledge. 

• Contribute effectively to team collaboration, demonstrating a commitment to self-care within the team and the broader organization. 

Peripatetic Support Worker 

• The role of Peripatetic Support Worker is to provide comprehensive cover for accommodation and community-based services, offering practical and emotional support to survivors of domestic abuse and various forms of violence and abuse. Some other duties include: 

• Managing a diverse caseload, responding effectively to escalating and changing risk, while maintaining up-to-date casework records. 

• Facilitating tailored, high-quality case management, including the development of individual safety plans. 

• Engaging actively with safeguarding initiatives and Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conference (MARAC) frameworks, referring clients, attending meetings, and following up on agreed actions.

About You 

They’re looking for someone who has the values, knowledge and skills of working within a support role supporting clients who have experienced domestic abuse and can demonstrate how they use their skills and common sense to support vulnerable individuals and families. They’ll have a commitment to maintaining the dignity and rights of the individuals and families they work with, with top notch communication skills. It is desirable if you have had experience of working within a Domestic Abuse Service.

Previous experience in a similar role is desirable, but they welcome candidates with relevant experience from other sectors or transferrable skills. 

You will work 37 hours a week, Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm. There may be expectation to work some evenings up to 8pm and occasional weekends and bank holidays. 

You will be required to have flexibility to travel across Derbyshire therefore driving licence and access to a car (with business insurance) is essential 

All successful candidates will be required to take a basic numeracy and literacy exercise prior to the interview.

Katherine Low Settlement has worked with older people since its conception in 1924.They are a core part of the community that we continue to work with. Key Objectives for the Elders Core Service Manager Role:

The Senior Youth and Community Worker needs to be a passionate, enthusiastic and professional. To support dads to have positive relationships with their families 

We are looking for a Dad Matters Support Coordinator to join our team to deliver 121 support to dads in the perinatal period.  The successful candidate will play a key part in better supporting dads/partners in the early days of parenthood across Gloucestershire. 

The successful applicant will either be a dad themselves or someone who has equivalent knowledge and experience in working in this type of setting.

Main Responsibilities

1-2-1 Support to Dads

The post holder will provide individual face to face and telephone support to dads during the perinatal period (from pregnancy to age 2 years of age).  This will involve the following: 

• Managing a caseload of dads who have been referred to the service by professionals
• Drawing on your own experience of parenting to encourage dad’s strengths and emotional well-being for the ultimate benefit of their own children
• Signposting and supporting access to other services as appropriate
• Educating dads on the importance of bonding and attachment
• Providing a listening space for dads
• Promoting the importance of good mental health
• Reassuring and validating dad’s experiences
• Maintaining good relationships with referrers
• Undertaking designated responsibilities to safeguard and promote children’s welfare

Outreach Support

The post holder will attend Gloucestershire Royal Hospital every week to support dads who are visiting the hospital for antenatal visits and maternity visits. This will involve the following:

• Setting up the Dad Matters pop up information point on the ward
• Liaising with hospital staff and maintaining excellent relationships
• Supporting dads as needed who are visiting the hospital on a 1-2-1 bases
• Signposting dads as appropriate

In addition the post holder will be required to facilitate one Stay and Play session each month.  This will involve:

• Keeping essential records of attendees of groups
• Giving dads a safe space to interact and socialise with other dads
• Encouraging dads to widen their network of relationships and to use effectively the support and services available in the community.

Monitoring & Evaluation:

• Supporting the evaluation of the impact of Dad Matters by adhering to monitoring systems and keeping accurate records

 Supporting the work of Home-Start  

• To contribute to the effective day to day operation of Home-Start in accordance with the Home-Start Memorandum & Articles of Association, Home-Start Standards & Methods of Practice, Home-Start Agreement and Quality Assurance Standards.

We are seeking to appoint a Mental Health Advice Worker for our busy and established service in Brighton and Hove. The role plays an essential part of our response to those people contacting us with their mental health enquiries and concerns.

You will responsible for offering a range of face to face and telephone mental health advice and information to people living in the city, including carers and family members who have contacted us with a mental health concern. The service also delivers awareness raising wellbeing workshops and community outreach as part of its delivery.

The role involves supporting people to identify strategies for looking after their own mental health wellbeing along with providing self-help information and resources.

You will require excellent communication skills, a track record of undertaking advice work and experience of successfully engaging and working with people with lived mental health experience. A commitment and understanding of the recovery model is essential.
