For this role we are looking for a confident and resilient community organiser who can build strong relationships to support communities to create change locally.
What you’ll be doing:
The Communities Coordinator will support community groups to campaign for clean rivers at a local level. By facilitating grass roots action you’ll be galvanising a strong and powerful network of community activists that have the power to create change both locally and nationally. You’ll be responsible for taking River Action’s national campaign strategy to a local level. You’ll work closely with the Campaigns Manager and the wider team to develop a Community Toolkit (including advice for activists, and guidance and services for communications, fundraising, legal support and citizen science projects) to support communities as well as provide strategic support to empower community activists to campaign for clean rivers. You’ll work closely with the Campaigns Manager and wider team to amplify the stories of those taking action at a local level and connect campaign groups to the wider national agenda. You’ll be working collaboratively with the River Action team to devise, develop and deliver our strategy ensuring our programme of community engagement is equitable, diverse and inclusive. You’ll be working closely with other organisations to ensure our community support compliments the work of others and meets the needs of community groups we work with.
Main Duties

Contribute to the development and implementation of River Action’s campaign strategy.

Develop River Action’s Community Toolkit as a package of support for local campaign groups.

Identify community groups within river catchments areas River Action is working and build positive and impactful relationships..

Organise site visits to develop good relationships and in-depth understanding of local issues impacting river health.

Convene and align local stakeholders around river catchment and regional campaigns.

Facilitate local community groups’ campaigns and provide support in line with our toolkit’s support package.

Facilitate the creation of community group citizen science projects, integrated within a national system for gathering and sharing evidence of pollution.

Organise community crowdfunding for citizen science and communications.

Plan and host webinars, training sessions and online and in person events.

Develop good working relationships with regulators including Environment Agency, Natural Resources Wales and Scottish Environment and Protection Agency.

Support the CEO and Campaigns Manager to identify and deliver legal challenges at a local level.

Maintain and develop partnerships and working relationships with other key groups and stakeholders working in similar areas of work to River Action.

Identify opportunities to engage, empower and expand River Action’s network of supporters.

Support the Communications Coordinator to create inspiring and engaging digital media content and news stories, including taking photographs and videos and conducting interviews.

Support the Campaigns Manager and Communication Coordinator in responding to the reactive news agenda.

Contribute to the Monitoring and Evaluation system for demonstrating impact of River Action’s community engagement work, reporting against KPIs.

Contribute to fundraising efforts particularly crowdfunding and drafting of funding proposals to support Campaigns and Fundraising Teams and the charity’s mission.

Oldham Poverty Action Network Coordinator
The role
The post holder for this role will be responsible for co-ordinating the work of the Oldham Poverty Action Network and leading on bringing the Network members together, leading on the co-ordination of the key projects and programmes that tackle the root causes of Poverty in Oldham, ensuring that local people, community organisations and institutions can collaborate through the Network to achieve the Network’s shared vision. You will work closely with Oldham Local Motion who is a key funder of the Oldham Poverty Action Network.

· To provide effective coordination of the work of Oldham Poverty Action Network and it’s associated programmes of work.

The Campaigns Coordinator will help to deliver highly engaging public and political campaigns and activations. You’ll work closely with the Head of Campaigns and the wider team to develop and deliver positively disruptive campaign strategies designed to meet the organisation’s overarching goal of rescuing our rivers. Main Duties

Contribute to the delivery of River Action’s campaign strategies.

Plan, deliver and coordinate data-driven campaigns for community, media and political audiences.

Please provide a one page campaign plan for how you would use that data and initial story to target the responsible polluters and government regulators, mobilise the public and campaign for urgent changes in industry practices and regulation. Consider how you would generate media headlines about the pollution problems and potential solutions while raising the profile of River Action, promoting positive opportunities that put farmers in a positive light and offering support to help them change their practices while targeting the root causes of the systemic problem caused by lack of regulation, lack of incentive and pressures from supply chains such as supermarkets. The Peer Support Coordinator will play a critical role in the delivery of Day One's Peer Support Service. The primary objectives are to ensure a high-quality service is delivered to our beneficiaries; to develop our regional peer support model; and to facilitate a positive volunteering experience for our lived experience volunteer team. Responsibilities will include the day-to-day coordination of peer support activity. This will involve sensitive communication with trauma-affected individuals to understand their needs and preferences, using this information to facilitate suitable peer support matches.
The postholder will contribute to building a diverse volunteer team by supporting the volunteer recruitment and induction processes. They will offer ongoing support, guidance and motivation to our volunteers, ensuring meaningful opportunities to engage with Day One. The postholder will support the Peer Support Manger to conduct regular reviews with volunteers to gather feedback on their experiences as well as supporting their personal and professional development.
The Peer Support Co-ordinator will monitor service delivery and volunteer activity to ensure it is operating within agreed policies and processes. To ensure we can evidence the success and quality of the service, a key aspect of the role will involve keeping accurate records of interventions as well as collecting regular evaluation/impact data and personal case studies.
You will be a compassionate individual, dedicated to ensuring the highest quality of support for our beneficiaries and volunteers alike. You will be empathic with strong active listening skills, able to demonstrate sensitivity and discretion in your communication with trauma-affected individuals. You will be adept at identifying individual’s support needs and have strong social/communication skills enabling you to facilitate appropriate and meaningful peer support matches. Possessing excellent organisational skills, you will thrive in the fast-paced and reactive environment of peer support service delivery.
You will be committed to maintaining high standards and have a keen eye for detail able to keep accurate records of interventions and collect evaluation/impact data with regularity. Additionally, you will have a proactive approach to building and supporting a diverse volunteer team. You will be a ‘people-person’, enjoy speaking with others, and have the knowledge and confidence to offer ongoing guidance and motivation to our volunteer team. Your ability to conduct regular reviews to gather feedback to support volunteers' personal and professional development will be essential in driving the continued success of our peer support service. Working under the direction of Academic Representation Manager, you will coordinate and develop a Course Rep scheme that accurately and legitimately represents Manchester Met students and creates positive change and supervise and support the Faculty Organisers throughout the year in supporting course reps and the work of other union departments within faculties.
- You will lead on the course rep recruitment plan and training, including the delivery of the lead volunteer program, maintaining a partnership approach to delivering the Course Rep scheme, through positive relationships with university stakeholders and Union colleagues.
- You will organise and deliver events and workshops for Course Reps around particularly issues identified as relevant to their academic community and support the Academic Representation Manager with any projects, consultations or research into the academic experience at MMU.

Transition Together is seeking to continue the work of deepening connection and growing the voice of the Transition Movement in England and Wales through the freelance engagement of three Network Weavers. The Ripple Pond is a charity that supports adult family members of physically and/or psychologically injured British Armed Forces personnel and veterans. Many of these individuals and family members are hard to reach and often isolated.
Your role will be to ensure that more and more of the military community, professionals and other interested parties know who we are and how to access our support.
You will also help to organise our exciting programme of online talks and activities for our Members (service-users) to help ensure they are well-informed, involved and feel part of a supportive community. Making sure that Members are always involved in generating ideas and production.
We are looking for someone who is dynamic and determined, but you also need to be invested in our mission as a charity and care about people.
This role is about;
• working with a wide range of groups and individuals to help raise awareness of the charity and to create opportunities to identify new Members (service users);
• being responsible for networking, identifying, and establishing partnerships with key individuals and organisations and nurturing existing relationships;
• developing and rolling out strategies to engage with hard-to-reach and isolated military carers and families;
• coordinating a range of activities (mainly online) to deliver information to Members, potential Members, referrers, and other stakeholders. These will include online talks from staff, Members and other “subject matter experts”; and
• helping to ensure the charity continues to understand the developing needs of its Members.
Although the role is home-based, you will not be working in isolation; you will be supported by the managers and workforce.

Supporting adult family members of physically or psychologically injured British Armed Forces personnel and veterans
Using a gender and trauma-informed approach, the Outreach & Engagement Worker will deliver 2-4 daytime outreach sessions per week in Manchester alongside partners, colleagues and volunteers. They will also attend the Street Engagement Hub weekly to provide specialist support to women attending this multi-agency hub. They will provide brief interventions and casework support to women supporting their needs holistically.
You will work with other members of the MASH team to achieve the following outcomes:
- To improve women’s health
- To improve women’s wellbeing
- To increase women’s safety
- To enable women to identify and achieve their goals
- Women who sex work are heard, understood and experience less stigma
- Other agencies and policymakers understand the needs of women who sex work and are more effective at supporting them
Since 1991, MASH has been at the forefront of supporting women in and around Greater Manchester who are, have been or may start sex working and who are facing multiple disadvantage. We were founded as a social justice organisation, starting out as a grassroots, community led response to the HIV/AIDS crisis and we have continued to support women at the sharpest end of inequalities ever since.
Whilst the nature of sex work, the context in which we operate and the support we provide has changed dramatically over the last thirty years, one thing has remained constant: MASH continues to be a haven for some of the most marginalised women in Greater Manchester – women who fall through the gaps, are under served by mainstream services and face stigma, discrimination and multiple barriers to accessing the support they need. We Are Survivors are looking for an individual, who has the passion, motivation, and keen eye for detail to come and join its ever-growing (and utterly amazing) Central Operations Directorate, as our new Admin Co-Ordinator.
For the past 15 years, We Are Survivors has provided survivor-focused therapeutic and advocacy support to male victims/survivors of sexual abuse, rape, and sexual exploitation.
