Job description

Activity Coordinator
Department: Parent and Family Support
Salary Details: £23,908 per annum
Hours: This is a full time position however we would consider job share opportunities for the right candidate

About KIDS

KIDS is a national charity which has been supporting disabled children, young people and their families since 1970.

We work with children, irrespective of their disability or impairment, from birth through to 25 years.  Each year we support over 15,000 disabled children, offer over 120 different services and work with about 80 Local Authorities across England. 

We are passionate, caring and trusted and our vision is a world in which all disabled children and young people realise their aspirations. We offer support and practical help for families, every step of the way.

KIDS is committed to safeguarding and successful applicants will be required to undertake stringent recruitment checks including (where applicable) an enhanced DBS check.

Purpose of the role:

  • To co-ordinate Kids targeted positive activities services in Lincolnshire for disabled children and young people age 5- 18 Services include Community, Youth Clubs and Holiday Play schemes.
  • To ensure Kids Services are of a good quality and meet required standards of good practice and legislation
  • To plan, deliver and evaluate Kids Services in consultation with partner agencies, parents and service users
  • To support disabled children & young people to access an exciting and challenging program of activities in a safe and stimulating environment and promote and develop inclusive opportunities
  • Provide high quality services that comply with OFSTED standards
  • To line manager and supervise all TPA staff and sessionals

About You

  • To be able to carry out this role it is essential that you have the following:
  • Experience of supporting children, young people or families
  • Ability to plan, deliver and evaluate individual/group work with children/young people
  • Ability to demonstrate an awareness of issues affecting the lives of disabled children and young people and their parent/carer
  • Ability to demonstrate 1 years’ experience in a supervisory or management role
  • Ability to demonstrate 1 years’ work experience in one or more of the following fields: Children’s/Youth services, Social Care whether Statutory or Voluntary sector.
  • Ability to demonstrate an understanding of the social model of disability and the rights of disabled children for inclusion.

Please note:

  • This role will be based at Kids Lincoln Office with travel to services and meetings as required across the region. TPA services are currently based in the following areas within Lincolnshire: Lincoln, Horncastle, Grantham, Boston and Spalding
  • The successful candidate will be expected to perform manual handling tasks and basic personal care tasks.
