As a Night Support Assistant in our Wandsworth accommodation service, you'll play a key role in creating a safe, welcoming and supportive environment for people rebuilding their lives. You’ll be the first point of contact during the night, offering practical support and a calm, reassuring presence. From managing access to our buildings and responding to emergencies, to carrying out essential safety checks and reporting concerns, your work will directly contribute to the wellbeing and security of every person in the service. Whether working alone or in coordination with nearby sites through our buddy system, you'll be part of a wider team committed to making a real difference - every night.
This role puts you at the heart of vital, life changing work, including accommodating emergency placements and supporting clients who may be arriving at a critical moment in their journey. You'll take the lead in overnight client interactions, ensuring that tasks are handled smoothly, whether by you or temporary staff under your direction. With guidance from Single Homeless Projects (SHP’s) dedicated out-of-hours management team, you’ll never be without support - even when working solo.

The Advocacy & Government Relations team leads the charity in influencing decision-makers and those whose policies, practices and decisions affect cat welfare across the UK. The small, highly motivated team works to influence legislators (national and devolved governments), professional organisations and corporates. The team has successfully influenced the law on microchipping, pet theft and commercial kitten sales in England and worked with the Scottish Government to regulate cat breeding and rehoming activities. The team has run digital campaigns as part of its strategy for several years but is now looking to increase capacity and build a stronger level of engagement with our campaigners.
What we’re looking for in our Advocacy and Government Relations Assistant:
- experience working in, or an understanding of, advocacy, public affairs or influencing work (which may include campaigns) and knowledge of UK political systems
- strong administration skills, including project and spreadsheet management
- experience, or any understanding, of dealing with high profile/ VIP individuals e.g Ministers, MSPs, MLAs, MPs, etc
- experience completing online and desk research
- experience or understanding of event organisation/preparing PowerPoint presentations
- proven ability to multi-task and work independently on own initiative, accurately and under pressure

Home-Start Epsom, Ewell and Banstead is a voluntary organisation committed to promoting the welfare of families and children. Staff and Volunteers offer regular support including emotional and practical help to families in their own homes and specialist projects within the community.
We are recruiting for a part-time Administrator/ Finance Assistant who will work with the Manager and a small team to ensure the organised and efficient operation of the charity. You will need excellent administrative, organisational, IT and finance skills to provide administrative and financial support for all aspects of Home-Start’s work. Experience of running payroll and using online accounting/payroll software would be beneficial. Ideally suited to an excellent administrator who can develop into the finance role. Training will be provided.
A good standard of education (GCSE, and relevant administration/ finance qualifications and/or experience), together with sensitivity and excellent communication skills are essential. You should understand and be committed to the role of the voluntary sector, be able to work in a small team, and demonstrate the ability of taking initiative. An enhanced disclosure check will be required.

Your role
We are looking for a proactive, highly efficient person who can effectively support a talented team who serve our people in mission working internationally. This includes supporting UK and international HR/personnel activities, recruitment, selection, training and safeguarding administration of people in mission including some PA support for the People and Learning director.

About the role:
This Best Companies Top 100 mid-sized company and Top 20 charity is looking to appoint an Executive Assistant to provide proactive and efficient administrative and operational support to the Senior Leadership Team and the Board of Trustees, whilst observing the strictest confidence. This is a part time job share role, working 3 days per week.
Reporting to the Chief Executive you will be responsible for a wide range of cross-organisational tasks and projects, including leading on general operational issues at Head Office including franking machine, stationery orders, cleaning materials, managing and monitoring switchboard voicemail messages, sign-in sheets, shredding, parking etc. You will act as key point of contact for Trustees and a wide range of external contacts, maintaining a professional, confidential and responsive approach.
