We are recruiting for a specialist Money & Budgeting Advisor into our Advice Service to provide money, budgeting and debt advice to our members, oversee the application processes for our expanded hardship funds and to run our new financial literacy programme. This role will work alongside another Money & Budgeting Advisor and with our wider Advice & Wellbeing team, supporting each other to achieve positive outcomes for our students. The post holder will provide accurate finance, debt and budgeting advice and information to students using the Advice Service including casework, support and advocacy.

The Role

As the Deputy Team Leader (Court Services), working alongside Team Leaders you will be responsible for the delivery of the Witness Service within your court/s. 

You will share responsibility for the effective coordination and development of volunteers who support witnesses in their journey through the criminal justice system.

You willbe responsible for general service administrative tasks within the courts, as well as inputting service data.

Main duties and responsibilities

We specialise in housing advice and homelessness work, with a particular focus on families and people experiencing multiple disadvantage. We have a new three year partnership with a leading bank, which aims to build financial resilience and break the cycles that can see people experiencing financial problems and this having a negative effect on their housing situation.

Your role will be to provide leadership and line management for six team members, keeping up to date with legislation, mentoring and coaching your team on complex issues in housing, debt and welfare benefits. The views of people with Lived Experience is key to service design at Shelter and you will lead on making sure they are involved to deliver a service that is truly co-produced. We aim to empower communities, so you will develop and deliver training on rights awareness and build relationships within the community. Compliance is also a crucial part of the role - you will monitor and report on contract and financial performance, carry out casework supervision and file reviews and identify systemic housing issues.

In Birmingham hub we specialise in providing housing advice and homelessness work, with a particular focus on families and people experiencing multiple disadvantage. We work in partnership with a range of organisations to improve the underlying systems that prevent people from living securely in suitable, safe, affordable accommodation. This role will be to provide day to day leadership for our Peer Mentor Service, delivered in partnership with Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health Foundation Trust. FIRST stands for Forensic Intensive Support Recovery Teams, where Peer Mentors use their own lived experience of complex needs to provide early intervention to improve client outcomes.

About the role

You will be responsible for the day to day service delivery and line management of the Peer Mentors, supporting them to deliver tailor made and holistic support packages, integrating joint working protocols within NHS services. You will allocate referrals and work closely with the Service Manager and Service Commissioners to identify gaps in provision. At Shelter we are aiming to change the systems that cause the housing emergency so you will identify examples of good and bad practice which will then be used to call for systemic change.

As Human Resources Advisor you'll be joining a small, friendly and supportive HR team providing advice and support to managers and staff across the full range of employee life-cycle activities. We are looking for someone who can enable effective delivery and growth of Bishops Castle and Leominster Youth Hubs across the Clun Forest, Pontesbury, Leominster and Kington & Weobley Deanery areas.

To ensure effective local research and evaluation in partnership with The Cinnamon Trust and Church Army Research Unit and learning opportunities in collaboration with the Church of England Vision & Strategy Team. 

Youth Hubs will have a focus on:

35 Hours per week Monday to Friday, with some evening and weekend work

The Refugee & Migrant Services Caseworker will join the Refugee & Migrant Services Support Team, who work alongside our ESOL team and volunteers to meet clients’ needs as directed by the R&MS Team Leader.  The post is based at our offices in Bedford but will involve some local travel to deliver support and home appointments.  Our team deliver a number of services, including:

• Welcoming and providing holistic integration support to resettled refugee families, empowering them to live independently with less support as time goes on.
•  Providing vulnerable migrants with high quality information and advice, empowering them to make well-informed choices.
•  Providing supported accommodation for people who have been refused asylum.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Building trust and maintaining positive working relationships with all clients, external agencies and other areas of KAP.
• Systematic recording of all notes and actions related to client support, maintaining up-to-date risk assessments and support plans using our case management system.
• Fulfilling funders’ & commissioners’ reporting requirements; generating statistics, case studies and keeping detailed records.
• Meeting resettled families at the airport and bringing them to their new homes.
• Ensuring clients understand their rights and responsibilities regarding their accommodation, supporting them to fulfil these.
• Supporting clients through advocacy to access; health & wellbeing services, welfare benefits, housing, immigration advice, community events, education, training, volunteering and paid work.
• Assisting resettled families’ children to access education and ensuring appropriate support is in place for them.
• Provide advice and support to resettled families through home appointments in Bedfordshire.
• Provide advice and support to clients both remotely and at in-person meetings

ADDITIONAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintaining working practices that reflect the overall ethos and vision of KAP, including following our policies, procedures and code of conduct. 
• Respecting and supporting the whole KAP staff team, contractors and volunteers.
• Taking responsibility for your own workload and your own personal development.
• To actively participate in supervision sessions (1-2-1s, team meetings and annual reviews).
• Attending and being involved in team meetings, training, prayer / worship times and social activities, as well as all personal development meetings, including supervisions and mentor sessions.
• This role may require working occasional evenings and weekends.

PSPA supports families affected by Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP) and Corticobasal Degeneration (CBD), both are complex neurological conditions that affect mobility, vision, swallowing and cognition.

We are looking for someone to join our helpline team to provide professional, comprehensive support and make a real difference to people living with PSP, CBD, their families, and carers. 

We are seeking a motivated and confident person who can deliver a high-quality professional service, to work on our helpline. Previous experience of working in health, social care or the helpline sector is essential. You need to be a patient, empathetic listener with excellent verbal and written communication skills. The role will involve assessing and responding to callers' needs via our telephone and email service providing practical and emotional support and delivering learning sessions about PSP and CBD to health and social care professionals. Ideally, you will have experience working on a helpline or in a health or social care setting.

Ability and willingness to travel within your region is essential.  Occasional weekend work may be required.  The role covers the following regions: Greater London, Kent, Essex & Surrey.
