Job description

An opportunity has arisen to join the team here at Independent Lives working as a Support Service Team Leader.  You will be overseeing the day-to-day delivery of the Information & Advice team who offer telephone support to Direct Payments employers and personal assistants. You will work with the team to ensure that the service meets the highest quality standards.


  • Ensure the information and advice line is correctly manned at all times, supporting the team when needed in order to meet customer needs
  • Deliver effective line management and supervision of staff, including performance management and personal development
  • Work with the team to develop information sheets and training materials for Direct Payments employers and personal assistants. Including scheduling and delivering training
  • Deliver effective marketing strategies to increase take-up of Direct Payments, personal assistant care pathways and training
  • Liaise with disabled people, health & social care staff, and the general public within an engagement, support and promotional programme
  • Oversee data monitoring, processes, workflows and reporting

The successful candidate will be a reliable individual who is focussed on the improvement and development of the team and services and while not being afraid to get involved and support with the daily activities when needed. We are looking for a team player who closely aligns with our company values.
