Our passionate Regional Casework Coordinators are SSAFA’s front line of support for members of the armed forces community in need. They are the first point of contact for all beneficiaries into the Regional office, assessing needs and allocating the case to one of our volunteer caseworkers. 

You will sometimes handle complex problems from individuals who may be distressed, identifying the presenting and potential underlining needs to determine the best way to support the beneficiary. You will have ownership of cases from beginning to end, coordinating the casework process in a timely manner and ensure that the beneficiary journey is at the centre of the Service. You will have the opportunity to shape processes and procedures within the office which will lead to improvements in the service offered to clients.  

To help you establish yourself in this new post you will receive excellent training and induction to SSAFA. 

Whilst the post is homebased, to be eligible for this role you are required to live in the East Midlands region, which includes: Derbyshire Leicestershire Lincolnshire Northamptonshire Nottinghamshire Rutland

There will be occasional travel around the East Midlands Region and you may be required to travel at short notice for face to face meetings.

About the team 

The team work remotely and pride themselves in maintaining a close working bond which ensures the smooth operation of the office. You will work closely with volunteers, supporting them to administer casework for SSAFA beneficiaries. The wider support team includes a Casework Manager and a Regional Operations Support Manager. 

About you 

To carry out this role successfully you will have a track record of providing welfare advice in key areas such as, housing benefits, debt, disability, mobility or immigration issues. You will have knowledge of safeguarding and GDPR and experience in dealing with sensitive information and people in vulnerable situations. You will be able to provide excellent customer service by telephone, e-mail and face to face. You will have used Microsoft Office 365 to a high standard. It is important that you have experience of planning and managing your own workload, with minimal supervision.

It would be advantageous if you have an understanding of the way of life for today’s Armed Forces, veterans and their families and if you have experience of recruiting and supporting volunteers. An understanding of the voluntary sector and preferably the military charity sector landscape across the East Midlands would be valuable.

The Role
We are looking for a Supporter Acquisition Lead - Face to Face to drive forward our ambitious direct dialogue supporter recruitment programme, recruiting 100,000 new supporters a year so that we have the funds we need to reach every deaf child.

Digital Change Manager

Role purpose 

Adoption UK is undertaking a major digital transformation, initially focused on CRM and Website developments. Our Digital Transformation Team will drive this change programme, working with colleagues and external digital partners; and subsequently deliver our on-going digital strategy implementation and development. 

You will support the Digital Transformation Lead to refine and implement Adoption UK’s digital strategy, to deliver our digital transformation project. Working with internal and external stakeholders the team will ensure that the project’s vision and scope meet the business and operational needs of the charity. An important part of your role will be to work collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation and particularly with our Marketing and Communications team to integrate digital into all current and upcoming projects. 

We’re looking for someone who has experience of project working in a digital environment, particularly within website and CRM implementation. 

Background – our digital transformation 

Like many charities, we’ve historically developed our digital framework and footprint organically, with insufficient web and CRM integration and functionality, duplication and data silos; resulting in data management and website functionality that don’t meet all our users’ needs. We’re changing all that by: 

1. Investing in our customer-facing website and data management systems; connecting all our divisions and services, delivering integrated systems that provide a positive customer and stakeholder journey.
2. Developing the next generation of digitally accessible services 
3. Extending our in-house digital capability to support continuous delivery. 

Key accountabilities: 

• Support the Digital Transformation Lead to implement the charity’s digital strategy.

• Coordinate data and content activities, including migration between platforms, to deliver our website and CRM digital transformation programme.

• Utilise and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across the organisation and with current and future digital partners. Use these networks to: 

• embed digital first principles and best practice. 

• Train, coach and mentor colleagues to be effective users of our CRM and website. 

• Progress opportunities to increase our digital capability and integrate digital into our current and upcoming work. 

• Utilise the digital performance assessment framework to monitor compliance with digital and data best practice standards.

Essential Criteria 

• Significant experience of website and CRM implementation and data/content management. 

• Good general knowledge and experience of organisational IT systems, including cloud and M365 applications. 

• Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Able to convey complex or technical information simply and clearly. 

• Experience of IT/Digital supplier engagement. Able to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. 

• Experience of working in a digital project/change environment. 

• Ability to work under pressure and to respond quickly to changing circumstances and to tight timetables 

Desirable criteria 

• Experience of working in an organisation which uses agile development methodologies. 

• A strong understanding of the National Cyber Security Centre principles and approach and General Data Protection regulations principles, audit and compliance.

In this exciting and varied role, you will manage the HR lifecycle, provide HR advice, develop and improve policies and processes, and manage payroll and benefits. You will report to the CEO and work with the with the Senior Management Team (SMT) to deliver a high quality HR & Payroll service. You will demonstrate and promote the culture and values of FoodCycle, incorporating equity, diversity, inclusion and environmental sustainability.​

This is a key role in which you will enjoy using your expertise to interact with all FoodCycle staff (~40 headcount) and lead initiatives like the annual staff survey, performance reviews and provide quarterly HR updates to the Board. You will be responsible for all HR operations and people activities of FoodCycle, including recruitment, onboarding, payroll, PAYE, pensions, employee engagement surveys and performance management and training oversight.​

The Policy and Campaigns Manager leads ADUK in championing reforms that pave the way for better access for all disabled people partnered with a highly trained assistance dog. Through dynamic campaigns and impactful initiatives, this role is pivotal to how ADUK amplifies the voices of those whose lives are transformed by these life changing dogs, ensuring that their rights are protected for years to come.

Key Responsibilities

• In partnership with the Executive Director (ED), continue to develop a compelling case for taking a standards-based approach to the training and welfare of assistance dogs.
• Gather, analyse and apply robust evidence to strengthen ADUK’s credibility, influence and voice on key policy and campaigning issues.
• Work with the ED to identify and progress opportunities for ADUK and its members to engage with policymakers, regulators and other decision-makers, and to support positive policy change.
• Develop and deliver written and in-person reports and briefings for different audiences, including politicians, policy officials, and other decision-makers.
• Collaborate with the ED and Head of Education and Allyship to develop relationships with key stakeholders.
• Lead, manage and convene the ADUK Advisory Panel, ensuring it operates effectively and informs ADUK’s policy and campaigning work.
•  Monitor legislation and policy developments relevant to assistance dogs and dog welfare and communicate these as appropriate to members.

We are looking for an Early Years Advisor to join the team in this remote working role.

Position: Early Years Advisor

Location: Huddersfield/Remote

Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week

The Role

You will support the contract delivery of the Champions programmes, ensuring contract milestones are met. The Champions programmes are online professional development programmes designed to support early year’s settings to drive continuous improvement and increase high standards in early education for children from birth to five years, in line with the organisations mission to promote quality in early years for UK and international customers.

Working closely with other early years Advisors, delivery partners, managers and cross teams, you will be responsible for the delivery of Champions programmes.

You will work with the private, voluntary, maintained and independent sectors, and school provision providing advice and support relating to Champions programmes that enable practitioners within nursery settings with practice improvement resulting in better outcomes for children.

The role 

Gambling Support Practitioners at GamCare ensure that psychosocial and recovery support interventions are delivered as part of a cohesive recovery plan, working collaboratively with external and partner organisations to achieve positive outcomes for people affected by gambling harms.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing face to face and online advice, assessment, brief and structured interventions to help clients achieve their recovery goals, using motivational interviewing and cognitive behavioural approaches
• Providing safe and effective support to individuals whilst managing safeguarding issues in line with safeguarding procedures and policies
• Developing collaborative working relationships with external agencies, professionals and groups to facilitate multi agency approaches and holistic support
• Developing relationships with local services and communities to support the identification of gambling harms in individuals and strengthen pathways into the service
• Participation in service promotion, networking activities and events to support visibility and ongoing development of the service, and to proactively respond to the needs identified within the region

This is a home based position with the requirement to travel across the East Midlands. This will vary but could be 2-3 days a week

We are looking for an individual to work full-time which will include a mix of 9-5pm and 12-8pm fixed shifts per week, depending on service requirements.

You will work Monday to Friday, with potentially occasional Saturdays (9-2pm remotely) due to possible requirements of the service, however another day off would be agreed on during the week.

About you

You should have significant experience in individual client work in the field of addictions, mental health or a social care setting with adults or young people. You should be flexible in using a range of low and high-intensity interventions and modalities including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) tools.

You will be expected to be able to work from home thereby having the space for a confidential setting whilst also being able to travel within the region to attend events and offer localised in person support as required.

Founded in 1997, GamCare is the leading provider of information, advice and support for anyone affected by gambling harms. We founded and operate the National Gambling Helpline, provide structured support for anyone who is harmed by gambling and create awareness about safer gambling and treatment. 

The role

Gambling Support Practitioners at GamCare ensure that psychosocial and recovery support interventions are delivered as part of a cohesive recovery plan, working collaboratively with external and partner organisations to achieve positive outcomes for people affected by gambling harms.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing face to face and online advice, assessment, brief and structured interventions to help clients achieve their recovery goals, using motivational interviewing and cognitive behavioural approaches
• Providing safe and effective support to individuals whilst managing safeguarding issues in line with safeguarding procedures and policies
• Developing collaborative working relationships with external agencies, professionals and groups to facilitate multi agency approaches and holistic support
• Developing relationships with local services and communities to support the identification of gambling harms in individuals and strengthen pathways into the service
• Participation in service promotion, networking activities and events to support visibility and ongoing development of the service, and to proactively respond to the needs identified within the region

This is a home based position with the requirement to travel across Greater London.

We are looking for an individual to work full-time which will include a mix of 9-5pm and 12-8pm fixed shifts per week, depending on service requirements.

You will work Monday to Friday, with potentially occasional Saturdays (9-2pm remotely) due to possible requirements of the service, however another day off would be agreed on during the week.

About you

You should have significant experience in individual client work in the field of addictions, mental health or a social care setting with adults or young people. You should be flexible in using a range of low and high-intensity interventions and modalities including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) tools.

You will be expected to live within a reasonable distance from the GamCare London office due to expectations of working from the office when required, as well as being able to travel to other locations across Greater London to deliver services or attend community events.

About the role:

The Senior Director of Finance is the most senior finance professional at Parenting for Lifelong Health (PLH). The role provides strategic financial leadership and ensures the organisation meets its fiduciary, regulatory, and governance obligations as a UK charity, while enabling responsible growth and global scale.

Acting as the organisation’s senior finance lead, the postholder will support the CEO and Board of Trustees to meet their statutory duties under UK charity law, including duties of care, prudence, and accountability, while building robust financial systems aligned to PLH’s 2026-2028 Strategic Plan and country implementation model.

The role ensures that PLH’s resources are used exclusively to further its charitable purposes, safeguarded appropriately, and managed transparently in the public interest.

Responsibilities:

Charity Governance, Fiduciary Oversight, and Trustee Support

• Act as the primary source of financial advice to the CEO and Board of Trustees, supporting trustees to fulfil their legal and fiduciary duties under UK charity law.

• Support the effective functioning of the Board Finance Committee, including preparation of high-quality financial papers, scenario options, and risk analyses.

• Ensure trustees have clear oversight of:

  • Financial performance against approved budgets

  • Liquidity, reserves, and solvency

  • Financial risks and mitigations

  • Long-term sustainability and going-concern considerations

• Ensure financial decision-making aligns with PLH’s charitable objects, governing documents, and public benefit obligations.

• Support compliance with Charity Commission guidance, including SORP (Standard Operating Procedures), CC3 (The Essential Trustee), CC12 (Managing a Charity’s Finances), and CC19 (Charity Reserves).

• Support trustees in understanding and exercising oversight of charity-wide financial risk, including downside and stress-test scenarios.

Financial Strategy, Planning, and Sustainability

• Lead the costing and financial modelling of PLH’s 2026-2028 Strategic Plan and country implementation model, ensuring affordability, sustainability, and strategic coherence.

• Design, implement, and institutionalise a three-tier scenario planning framework (base, growth, and downside cases) to support prudent and adaptive decision-making.

• Develop a long-term (3-5 year) financial sustainability model projecting:

  • Revenue by source (restricted and unrestricted)

  • Expenditure and staffing growth

  • Enterprise risk management (ERM) contributions

  • Reserves, liquidity, and risk exposure

• Develop, maintain, and regularly review PLH’s reserves policy, including target levels, rationale, and planned use, in line with Charity Commission expectations.

• Advise senior leadership and trustees on the financial implications of growth, innovation, and funding opportunities.

• Provide forward-looking financial insight to support organisational decision-making under uncertainty and changing funding conditions.

Financial Management, Reporting, and Controls

• Work closely with the Finance Manager to ensure accurate, complete, and timely accounting records in accordance with UK charity accounting standards (SORP FRS 102).

• Provide strategic oversight and assurance over organisation-wide financial reporting, using management accounts and dashboards prepared by the Finance Manager to inform executive and trustee decision-making.

• Ensure proportionate internal controls, segregation of duties, and approval frameworks are current and implemented by the Finance Manager.

• Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive financial risk management framework covering:

  • Liquidity and cash-flow risk

  • Donor concentration and funding dependency

  • Currency and foreign exchange exposure

  • Contractual and grant compliance risk

  • Contingency and downside planning

• Ensure effective coordination between in-house finance staff and outsourced accounting and payroll providers, maintaining clear accountability and quality assurance.

Audit, External Reporting, and Transparency

• Oversee the annual audit process, supporting the Finance Manager’s role as primary liaison with external auditors and ensuring timely completion of statutory accounts.

• Support trustees in reviewing and approving:

  • Statutory financial statements

  • Trustees’ Annual Report

  • Financial disclosures to regulators

• Ensure high standards of financial transparency and accountability to donors, partners, regulators, and the public.

• Oversee statutory filings and financial reporting to the Charity Commission and Companies House.

• Contribute to narrative financial reporting on sustainability, risk, and reserves where appropriate.

Organisational Financial Capability and Culture

• Develop and maintain clear financial policies, procedures, and approval workflows to support consistency, compliance, and accountability.

• Embed a culture of financial stewardship, prudence, and shared accountability across the organisation.

• Promote ethical financial practice and safeguarding of charitable assets in line with PLH’s values and public-interest obligations.

Team Leadership and Management

• Lead and develop PLH’s finance function, including line management of the Finance Manager and oversight of external bookkeeping and accounting partners.

• Ensure the finance function is appropriately resourced, scalable, and fit for a growing, multi-country organisation.

• Set clear objectives, performance standards, and professional development pathways for finance staff.

• Promote ethical practice, professionalism, and continuous improvement within the finance team.

• Provide mentoring and strategic development support to mid-career finance staff as the organisation grows.

Essential Skills and Experience

• Senior-level financial leadership experience.

• Strong understanding of UK charity governance, trustee responsibilities, and Charity Commission expectations.

• Demonstrated expertise in strategic financial planning, scenario modelling, and reserves management.

• Proven experience establishing robust financial controls, reporting systems, and audit processes.

• Experience working directly with Boards and Board Committees in a governance context.

• Demonstrated experience embedding or overseeing organisational-wide financial risk management frameworks.

• Ability to translate complex financial analysis into clear, decision-ready advice for trustees and senior leaders.

• Experience operating in organisations with a mix of restricted, unrestricted, and partially recoverable income streams.

• Comfort working in an evidence-driven, analytically rigorous organisational environment.

• Strong people leadership and management capability.

• High levels of integrity, sound judgement, and commitment to PLH’s charitable aims.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

• Financial leadership experience within a UK charity, international NGO, or comparable not-for-profit organisation.

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA) or equivalent experience.

• Experience with multi-country, multi-currency operations and restricted funding environments.

• Familiarity with UK charity accounting (SORP FRS 102).

• Experience working closely with trustee Finance or Audit & Risk Committees.

• Familiarity with donor concentration risk analysis and income diversification strategies.

• Exposure to safeguarding or PSEA considerations from a financial governance perspective.

• Experience supporting organisational growth and scale within regulated charity contexts.
