South East London Mind is working in partnership with South London & Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust (SLaM) to deliver integrated support within the Trust’s Community Mental Health Teams. You will be part of a brand new integrated sub-team working specifically with service users who struggle to engage with mental health services, resulting in them experiencing multiple and long psychiatric admissions.

We are looking for a Mental Health Advisor who is compassionate, proactive and can work flexibly to offer safe, problem-solving engagement and support. Alongside working with service users, you will contribute to the evaluation, supporting with collecting outcomes data and shaping the service.

As a Adviser (Housing and Welfare Benefits) you will be responsible for providing specialist support to older people, their families and carers through our advice service with their enquiries relating to housing and welfare benefits as well as providing generalist level support on a range of issues through our duty service.

You should you should have in depth, specialist level knowledge of Housing or Welfare Benefits (ideally both) as they relate to older people, experience of working within an high volume advice setting and advice supervision framework such as the AQS framework.

Staff recruitment and development

Quality assurance and reporting

• Undertake Independent File Reviews ( IFR) and monitor the quality  to meet quality standards and service level agreements
• Maintain and develop  QAS/ AQS standards incl. renewal process.
• Ensure remedial and developmental issues are identified and acted on to develop individuals, improve the quality of advice, and ensure clients do not suffer detriment due to poor or inadequate advice.
• Keep technical knowledge up to date and provide technical support to advisers.
• Maintain a case load as demonstration of ongoing personal development and learning.
• Undertake advice work as required e.g. during staff absences.
• Provide statistical reports on outputs and outcomes as required by funders and management
• Review and implement outcome measures for the work of the I&A team, including an annual survey of clients.

Partnership working and development

• To manage networking/ liaison with other local key stakeholders and organisations and feed into wider local engagement and community development work.
• Develop effective partner relationships with referral agencies across  both boroughs, and to refer/ signpost cases to external agencies as appropriate.
• Represent the organisation at outreach and community events as required, continuing to raise the organisational profile and develop wider awareness of our services.
• Work with colleagues to develop marketing materials, give talks and presentations, identify outreach opportunities .
• Identify opportunities to develop and grow the wider information and advice service

This role is part of the Devon Domestic Abuse Service which provides support to high and medium risk victims of domestic abuse and their families.

This exciting new specialist role of Housing IDVA is designed to support victims of Domestic Abuse to remain safe in their own accommodation or secure suitable new housing.

The main tasks for this role include:

• Managing a caseload of high risk victims, providing specialist support around housing.
• Acting as a link person between the local authority housing teams, our Domestic Abuse services in Devon, supported accommodation and refuges.
• Offering dedicated support to victims in Places of Safety.
• Providing specialist training and professional consultancy to partner agencies.

This is a 2-year contract with the potential to extend or be made permanent, subject to funding.

Our Supporter Care team offers advice, information, and inspiration to our supporters on all aspects of fundraising and making donations to taking part in an event and volunteer roles such as cheering on our marathon runners or supporting a campaign.

As part of the Supporter Care team, you will be the first point of contact for our supporters, across different communication channels, ranging from phone, webchat, email and social media and will be supporting them every step of the way on their fundraising journey.

With 98% of our income coming from voluntary sources, you will identify the needs of our amazing fundraisers to help them achieve their fundraising goals whilst recognising when they need support from the Macmillan Support Line.

We want to expand our capacity for face to face and telephone advice; hence we are looking for an experienced generalist Adviser with the ability to provide advice in person as well as on the phone through our dedicated helplines.
