About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a well-regarded and innovative project contributing to achieving positive outcomes for some of the most vulnerable families in England and beyond whose sick children are being treated at Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital (GOSH) We also provide an ‘open door’ service to our GOSH partners such as social workers and family support officers in our areas of expertise.

You will be expected to deliver high quality holistic advice and in-depth casework to families with children who are patients at GOSH across all Citizens Advice issue areas and this will include complex housing issues and with benefits cases up to appeal level.

Whilst we are keen to provide paid to train opportunities where we can, this role is not suitable for a trainee and such applications cannot be considered. Please check the person specification below to ensure you meet the requirements for the role before applying.

Being available onsite is an important aspect of this role and so this role is hybrid working.The exact split between remote/onsite working will be by agreement with the line manager and to meet the needs of the project which could change over time. We are looking for two dedicated and enthusiastic Students' Union Advisers to provide money and academic advice, guidance, advocacy and support to help our students navigate the various challenges they face. Though we support and signpost our students regardless of their issue, the majority of our caseload relates to Student Finance and other money issues so applicants with relevant experience and expertise are encouraged to apply. Working within a team of five Advisers to deliver our free, impartial and confidential service, the successful applicant will advise students on primarily Money, Academic and Disciplinary matters. As a dynamic and agile organisation, we always signpost or advocate where we cannot directly advise, and so expect to help students facing challenges from everything from housing to sexual violence.

Our Advice Team advises across telephone, Microsoft Teams and face to face appointments, alongside monitoring a shared email inbox, supporting colleagues with research and data analysis, contributing to and creating various resources and occasionally attending university committees or working groups to provide technical expertise. Occasional weekend and evening work (to support the delivery of Open Days) will be required, as well as occasional work at our sites in Stafford and London. There are two vacancies available, totalling 1.5 FTE. Person Requirements 

Essential Criteria

• Proven experience delivering information/advice and managing a caseload, including prioritising effectively, assessing risk, and communicating professionally with students and partners.
• Demonstrable expertise in at least one area relevant to the role (e.g., academic appeals, student finance/welfare benefits, consumer rights, or legal issues).
• Experience supporting individuals facing complex or sensitive matters (e.g., wellbeing, housing, incidents of sexual violence), demonstrating empathy and sensitivity, whilst maintaining appropriate boundaries.
• Ability to advocate on behalf of students and support them through formal processes (e.g., academic or disciplinary procedures), interpreting and applying relevant policies and regulations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; strong attention to detail in records/case notes; confident use of Microsoft 365 (e.g., Teams, Outlook, Word).

Desirable Criteria

• Experience supervising, supporting or training volunteers or staff.
• Experience providing personal finance/budgeting guidance.
• Experience delivering projects or workshops with clear outcomes and timelines.
• Research and analysis skills to inform information resources, social policy or campaigning.
• Confidence representing the Union at public‑facing events (e.g., Discovery Days, Offer Holder Days).
• Understanding of the Students’ Union’s values, vision and service delivery.

Details of this role

Hours: We are recruiting two posts totalling 1.5 FTE. The roles are offered on an annualised hours contract, with full-time based on 37 hours per week (1,687 working hours per annum plus 244 hours annual leave). Part-time hours and leave will be calculated on a pro rata basis.

Holiday: 5 Weeks per year plus Bank Holidays pro rata (That's 33 days!)

Start date: April 2026 onwards

Working Hours: Monday to Friday with occasional evenings and weekends

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Policy Advisor (maternity cover) to join the Work Foundation at Lancaster University. At a time of big changes in the world of work, we are looking for a talented individual who shares our goal to tackle structural inequalities in the UK labour market.

About you

The ideal candidate will be able to undertake research and policy analysis, help secure and manage funded research projects and clearly communicate complex issues to a range of audiences. Experience of building effective internal and external relationships with a wide range of groups including civil servants, academics, politicians, business leaders and workers will be a particular advantage.

The Policy Advisor will support the research team to deliver valuable new quantitative and qualitative evidence and insights. We are ambitious about delivering research that has a positive impact in society, and work closely with workers, employers and policymakers to realise that goal.

Main Purpose of the Post:

Provide advocacy, support, impartial advice, and information to survivors of all ages who have experienced sexual violence at any point in their lives. This includes support within the Criminal Justice System (CJS), as well as delivering informed choices sessions to help survivors decide whether they wish to engage with the CJS process.

Key information:

· We require the post holder to be female under Genuine Occupational Requirement (GOR), Schedule 9 (Work; Exceptions), Part 1 (Occupational Requirements), of the Equality Act (2010).

· The post is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.

· The post involves flexible working hours including responding to crises in order to meet the needs of the service as and when required.

· The post is part of a countywide ISVA service covering Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. For all survivors accessing the service

· Undertake needs-led assessments and develop individual support plans.

· Support survivors to access services to which they are entitled.

· Provide support (non-therapeutic) to survivors.

· Provide information on criminal, legal, and civil remedies where appropriate.

· Provide information and support in relation to Criminal Injuries Compensation.

· Where relevant, liaise with other agencies who are supporting the client.

· Assist survivors who decide to report by facilitating the reporting of the offence.

2. For survivors reporting to the Police

· Support survivors through the criminal justice system explaining the procedures, the ISVA role, and the client’s rights within the system.

· Liaise with the police and CPS on behalf of survivors and/or with survivors.

· Participate in case conferences with the police, CPS, and prosecuting barrister.

· Support and advocate for clients to access special measures.

· Where appropriate, support survivors to provide a victim impact statement during the trial phase.

3. Quality Assurance

· Maintain confidential client records, sharing and managing information in accordance with PRCCG Policies and Procedures.

· Develop and maintain effective working relationships with agencies supporting survivors.

· Ensure survivors receive the best possible standard of support in line with Rape Crisis National Service Standards.

· Attend and participate in regular Team Meetings, Peer Review Meetings, Reflective Practice and Clinical Supervision.

4. General

· Manage a caseload while taking responsibility for scheduling time off to ensure a healthy work/life balance.

· Work flexible hours where required and dependent on the needs of PRCCG and its service users.

· Participate in PRCCG training and development opportunities.

· Support the monitoring and evaluation of PRCCG services.

· Support the running of other PRCCG services where required.

The Digital Performance Advisor will be the driving force behind understanding and improving their online performance. This role is central to how they use data and insight to make impactful decisions across digital, fundraising, campaigning and supporter engagement.

This is a specialist analyst role and the organisation’s subject matter expert in Google Analytics 4 (GA4).

Your essential skills and experience:

• Proven expertise in digital analysis and insight, with experience producing data-driven reports and actionable recommendations
• Experience working for a charity or non-profit
• Advanced GA4 knowledge, including funnels, segmentation, lifecycle reporting and (where relevant) e-commerce tracking. Strong understanding of the transition from Universal Analytics (GA3) to GA4 and its implications
• Experience using tools such as Looker Studio, Power BI, and behavioural analytics tools (e.g. Hotjar, Contentsquare)

Specialist Health IDVA (Suicide Prevention)

We're looking for a proactive, trauma-informed Specialist Health IDVA (HIDVA) to support victims of domestic abuse—both patients and staff—within Exeter Wonford Hospital and wider healthcare settings. The IDVA will specialise in suicide prevention.

As part of the Devon Domestic Abuse Alliance (DDAA), you’ll work closely with clinical staff, community teams, and specialist partners to ensure those experiencing abuse are identified early and offered the support they need. You’ll also collaborate with HIDVA colleagues across Devon, including those focused on suicide prevention, and play a key role in improving healthcare responses to domestic abuse.

About You:

You are compassionate, resilient, and experienced in working with victims of domestic abuse—ideally from within or alongside health settings. You understand the dynamics of abuse and the importance of early intervention and cross-sector collaboration.

You’ll also bring:

• Strong risk assessment and advocacy skills

NDADA Children and Families Team – Devon Domestic Abuse Alliance

This is an exciting time to be joining this team, as funding has been extended and the project is really starting to make a difference to the lives of those families who are receiving support from Children Services.  The role will involve one to one work with the safe parent, raising awareness and training staff to understand and recognise signs of domestic abuse, working alongside each other to advocate for parents who are struggling with difficult and abusive relationships.

We are recruiting an Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (Qualified IDVA or IDVA Practitioner to work towards IDVA qualification) to join the NDADA Children and Families Team, part of the Devon Domestic Abuse Alliance (DDAA). This is a vital role working alongside Devon Children’s Services to ensure victims of domestic abuse and their children are safe, supported, and able to access the right services at the right time.

You will be embedded within the Family Assessment and Intervention Team at County Hall, Exeter, or at Totnes or Barnstaple, working closely with social workers and partner agencies. Some home working is possible, however you will be required to work from County Hall or one of the other locations at least two days per week. Your caseload will predominantly cover Exeter area alongside another Exeter based CSIDVA, and you will also need to be able to support clients in other areas depending on the needs of the service. 

This role involves multi-agency working, flexibility, and a trauma-informed approach to encourage engagement and improve outcomes for families affected by domestic abuse.

About you

As an IDVA, you will provide proactive, specialist support to victims of domestic abuse, carrying out risk assessments, safety planning, advocacy, and system navigation. You will work closely with professionals across children’s services, housing, health, police, and the voluntary sector to coordinate responses and keep families safe.

You will also play a key role in challenging harmful narratives, reframing domestic abuse as a perpetrator choice, and fostering empathy and understanding for abused parents within safeguarding processes.

Essential:

• At least two years’ experience as an IDVA, YPVA or ISVA or similar practitioner work with domestic abuse awareness
• Experience supporting people affected by domestic abuse or other forms of interpersonal violence
• Strong understanding of safeguarding and risk assessment (DASH, MASH, MARAC)
• Trauma-informed approach to practice
• Excellent communication, listening, and advocacy skills
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Full driving licence with access to a vehicle for work purposes
• Commitment to confidentiality, equality, and anti-discriminatory practice

We are now recruiting IPS Employment Advisors to join our IPS service to join our Kingston & Sutton team. This is a full-time, permanent role working 35 hours per week, following the principles of the IPS model to support people into paid employment.

If you were working with us, your days would be varied and people-centred. You would manage a caseload of clients with mental health support needs, people experiencing homelessness, and people with offending histories, offering one-to-one support to help them secure and sustain employment that matches their preferences. 

You would provide person-centred guidance using the IPS approach (training is provided), helping clients build confidence, prepare for work, and navigate challenges that may arise. A key part of the role involves engaging employers, promoting the value of our service, and identifying suitable job opportunities.

You would work closely with NHS clinical teams, contributing to an integrated approach to recovery through employment. This includes attending team meetings, coordinating support, and maintaining clear, client-led communication. The role also involves working to agreed targets while maintaining a high-quality, supportive service. 

What you’ll need 

You do not need previous employment support experience. What matters most is that you bring: 

• A genuine desire to support people with mental health support needs and/or learning disabilities to achieve their employment goals. 

• Motivation to help people from all backgrounds move into meaningful work. 

• Confidence speaking with a wide range of people, from clients to employers. 

• Strong organisation skills, with the ability to multitask and manage your workload. 

• Willingness to learn the IPS model and become confident approaching employers.

Early Years Advisor

We are looking for an Early Years Advisor to join the team in this remote working role.

Position: Early Years Advisor

Location: Huddersfield/Remote

Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week

Salary: £30 – 32k

Contract: Temporary to December 2028 (with possibility of extension depending on future contracts)

The Role

You will support the contract delivery of the Champions programmes, ensuring contract milestones are met. The Champions programmes are online professional development programmes designed to support early year’s settings to drive continuous improvement and increase high standards in early education for children from birth to five years, in line with the organisations mission to promote quality in early years for UK and international customers.

Working closely with other early years Advisors, delivery partners, managers and cross teams, you will be responsible for the delivery of Champions programmes.

You will work with the private, voluntary, maintained and independent sectors, and school provision providing advice and support relating to Champions programmes that enable practitioners within nursery settings with practice improvement resulting in better outcomes for children.

Key duties include:

• Provide support to cohorts of early years practitioners
• Deliver live virtual training to Champions
• Mentor and coach Champions
• Aid in the development, review and maintenance of Champions programme materials and resources 
• Provide one to one advice and support to early years providers
• Work with the project manager to support the execution, delivery, management and achievement of all milestones within specific time constraints
• Collate data and report on progress of programme completion
• Develop and maintain effective partnerships and relationships
• Support the development and delivery of practice content

About You

You will have previous experience of working in early years, leading practice specifically in mathematical, language, literacy and communication as an early years professional or teacher.
