As a Relationship Fundraiser, you’ll play a vital role in supporting the Relationship Manager to strengthen and grow meaningful connections with individual donors, helping to advance North Yorkshire Hospice Care’s mission across Saint Michael’s Hospice, Herriot Hospice and Just ‘B’. You’ll help identify potential supporters, understand what inspires them to give, and contribute to thoughtful, personalised engagement strategies that ensure every donor feels valued, appreciated and connected to the impact of their generosity. With a focus on in-memory giving, regular giving, legacy gifts and general donations, you’ll help maximise opportunities for supporter engagement and secure sustainable income for our care.

Your work will span a range of fundraising activity: supporting sensitive and impactful in-memory campaigns, helping to deliver strong regular giving appeals, aiding the smooth management of general donations, and acting as an ambassador for legacy giving across the organisation. You’ll use CRM systems to maintain accurate donor information, tailor communications and deepen relationships, while collaborating closely with colleagues in marketing, events and volunteer management to deliver a cohesive supporter experience. You’ll also help with evaluating and improving fundraising processes, gathering case studies, reporting on KPIs and ensuring that donor journeys and stewardship activities are consistently warm, personalised and meaningful.

To excel in this role, you’ll be a natural relationship builder with excellent communication skills and a passion for delivering outstanding supporter care. Organised and detail-focused, you’ll have experience managing fundraising or engagement campaigns, analysing data for insights and working confidently across multiple projects. With strong written and verbal communication, proficiency in Microsoft 365 and CRM systems, and a proactive, results-driven approach, you’ll bring professionalism, empathy and enthusiasm to every interaction. Knowledge of fundraising regulations, digital engagement and legacy marketing is important, as is a commitment to continuous learning, inclusion and representing our values with authenticity.

About this job

We’re looking for a Senior Events Fundraiser to join our Community, Events, and Retail Fundraising team, leading on the delivery of our third party events activities.

You’ll plan, develop, and promote a well-established portfolio of third party challenge events, working to achieve set income targets, while ensuring an outstanding supporter experience for our event participants.

You’ll also be responsible for developing our third party events portfolio; monitoring and evaluating products, as well as innovating, to create opportunities for future growth.

The Role
We are looking for a Community & Events Fundraiser to play a pivotal role in maximising event and supporter-led fundraising income. 
 
You will develop and deliver growth strategies within your area of responsibility (across mass-participation events, virtual events & supporter-led fundraising) with support from the Head of Community and Events. You will also build great internal relationships with colleagues to enable delivery of the community & events programme.

• Experience of working in a Fundraising role, preferably within Community and Events.
• Experience of motivating & inspiring supporters through excellent supporter stewardship to maximise fundraising efforts. 
• Experience of managing mass participation events and associated platforms & processes. 
• Experience of managing virtual challenge events, including moderation and associated platforms & processes.
• Great sector knowledge and insight to bring fresh ideas and approaches to the team.

About the Role

This isn’t a desk job - it’s all about people.

Each day, you’ll:

• Travel to local venues using a company van (fuel and parking covered; average travel time up to one hour each way).
• Set up engaging and eye-catching fundraising stands.
• Chat with the public about nature and the mission.
• Inspire people to support through regular giving.

You’ll spend your days outdoors, meeting new people, and making a tangible impact for wildlife. It takes confidence and resilience - but it’s incredibly rewarding.

• Full training provided - no wildlife knowledge required.
• Stable salary (not commission-based).
• Company van for business use (all fuel and expenses covered).
• 34 days annual leave (including bank holidays, pro rata).
