As the Supporter Engagement Officer, you’ll create opportunities for our amazing supporters to connect with and drive our work through various means of individual giving. You'll create engaging communucations, ensuring that our donors feel valued and understand the impact they're having on babies and their families, and you'll develop key appeals and individual giving activity to drive growth in these income streams.

You will:

1. Manage the development of individual giving income streams, including legacy giving, regular giving, one-off gifts, in memory giving and new products
2. Co-ordinate key engagement activity, such as the annual supporter Thankathon and Impact Report
3. Oversee administration and stewardship of individual giving income
4. Manage the promotion, sale and distribution of Lullaby Trust merchandise

This role can be offered as a hybrid role (with approximately one day per week in our London office) or fully remote, with occasional visits to the office for meetings or staff days as necessary; the two salary ranges above reflect this. The 21 hours could be worked across 3-5 days per week.

Strong analytical and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to present complex financial data to diverse audiences to ensure the organisation's financial sustainability. Experience in the charity sector and in developing financial strategy is essential for this role.

Job Title: Finance Officer
Reporting to: HQ Finance Manager
Hours: 37.5 per week

Strong finance functions underpin everything that we want to achieve as an organisation and this role is a vital part of this.

Role Purpose:

This role is a key member of the busy HQ finance function. The role is primarily focused on HQ finances and will also work with the colleagues across our global finance team. The role offers the chance to work across a number of finance functions, including: management accounting, supporting year end audit, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable and working on some of the subsidiary charities; and so it provides a great opportunity to experience the full breadth of finance work in a charity across all functions in a varied and interesting role.

It is essential that the applicant can juggle the complexities of a busy role with has varied work priorities. Key stakeholders are the HQ Finance Manager, Finance Director and the HQ based fundraising team. The role works alongside the Finance Assistant and plays a role in oversight and coaching of this role. Street Child is implementing a new CRM system and this role will feed into the development of new processes and procedures and use both the CRM and finance system and ensure full reconciliation and data trail between the two systems.

Key Responsibilities:

1) (40%) Deliver all functions related to Accounts Receivable and CRM:

• Ensure that all income from a variety of different sources is correctly and accurately recorded in the finance system and CRM (which is under development) on a weekly basis.
• Supporting with work on accounts receivable including accessing, downloading and saving in a systematic manner reports from donor portals, bank account and other sources.
• Working with colleagues in Fundraising to analyse and code income reports in Excel and uploading it to the Finance system on a timely basis, at least weekly. Following up on how to code any income which is not allocated to a source.
• Working closely with colleagues in Fundraising to ensure prompt collection of outstanding balances from customers, and sending out monthly debtor balance statements.
• Raising donor invoices and requests for payments, and issuing donor receipts.
• Income and customer account reconciliations and revaluations.
• Any other responsibilities relating to Accounts Receivable.

2) (40%) Month end reporting and reconciliation and subsidiary accounts:

• Complete all balance sheet reconciliations, including bank and petty cash reconciliations and submit for approval by HQ Finance Manager.
• Once CRM system is in place, undertake reconciliation processes between finance data and CRM data.
• Carry out monthly revaluations of bank accounts.
• Ensuring supporting information for transactions is correctly stored in electronic format on Teams such as bank statements, remittance advices, credit statements.
• Assist in preparation of internal reports, including working with Operations Department and Finance department to review their monthly reports.
• Take responsibility to deliver the management accounts of two subsidiary companies: Children in Crisis and HQ transactions of Africa Educational Trust.
• Compile information for Gift Aid returns.
• General support and assistance to the team including administrative duties and managing the office post.
• Other ad hoc support to the wider operations team as may be required.
• Audit: support with the year end audit and provision of supporting information to auditors.

3) (20%) Lead the Accounts Payable process:

• Whilst the Finance Assistant is responsible for all payments, the Finance Officer has a lead role in ensuring that all invoices are paid on time, in an efficient manner and that the finance system reflects the transactions within the correct accounting period and correctly coded in the system – including account code, cost centre, project code and donor code.
• Determine most efficient payment platform to process international payments, and ensure that recorded in the finance system at the correct conversion rate.
• Be a point of contact with the Foreign exchange agents to quickly resolve any questions.
• Work with the Finance Assistant to ensure accurate and timely recording of all approved supplier invoices, requisitions, staff expenses and other expenditure in the accounting system and that all supporting documentation for all transactions are uploaded.
• Ensuring that there are at least two payment runs a week and additional runs as required; overseeing the process to ensure that all invoices for payment are correctly approved by the budget holder, setting up payments on online banking platforms and sending out requests for payment approvals to payment authorisers and verifying that all payments are fully approved in the banking platforms by the deadline set. Providing cover to set up payments when the Finance Assistant is not available.
• Managing monthly staff credit card reconciliations and ensure that these are returned on time with all receipts and invoices and checking and reviewing classifications, with follow up as required.
• Carry out monthly Creditor account reconciliations ensuring that all balances are valid and backed up with appropriate supporting documentation.
• Fully deliver the set up all payroll payments in time for the monthly pay day. This involves ensuring correct amount and currency of payment (which may differ from the salary of the individual’s employment contract) and method of payment across all HQ staff.
• Any other responsibilities from time to time.

Your Role: Membership, Programmes and Events Support Assistant (Fixed Term Contract)

Contract: Fixed Term for six months - November 2024 to April 2025. We are open to applications from a PhD student or Early Career Academic.

Hours: 21 (0.6FTE). The post holder will also be expected to attend and support the PSA25 Annual Conference taking place in Birmingham from 14 -16 April 2025. 

Salary:  0.6 FTE of £25k. The post holder will additionally be compensated for in-person attendance and providing support during the Annual Conference period.

Location: All roles are based at our offices in Camden London but the PSA currently supports its staff to work remotely. Post-holders will be required, however, to come into our offices regularly (normally once a week on a Wednesday). The Membership, Programmes and Events team is a friendly bunch who work closely together with responsibility for operations and output across a wide range of our activities. These include: membership, networks, specialist groups, programmes, communications, events including the Annual Lecture and PSA Annual Conference. Additional information: there are currently seven members of PSA staff under the leadership of the CEO. This post reports to the Membership, Events & Programmes Manager who works with two Officers in the team.

Pro-rata 25 days’ annual holiday allowance (plus bank holidays).

In this role you’ll be both strategic and hands-on, solely managing the financial controls for this small charity with a £350k annual turnover.  You will support the Director and senior management team through your management of financial processes, policy and planning.

This will include using accountancy software to process income and expenditure, producing management accounts for the senior management team and Board, and ensuring the charity reports to its key funders, including Arts Council England. 

You’ll process payroll for our small team of 6 employees, taking care of liaison with HMRC as well as handling external audit and company filing.

We’re looking for someone with focus, efficiency and precision to take responsibility of our company finances.

Unfazed by working mostly alone, you’ll be incredibly organised with your time and workload to ensure processes are handled in a timely and accurate fashion. Ideally, you’ll be passionate about the work that we do both as a professional arts organisation and also as a small charity based in Bedfordshire with altruistic values.

You’ll have experience of working with small organisations and charities, knowledgeable about the areas of financial control that you will be our expert on.

The role is an employee position for one day per week, however we are open to discuss flexibility of working hours and the possibility of freelance working with the successful candidate.

Terms and Conditions   

Hours of Work: 7.5 hours per week (1 day).  These hours can be worked flexibly.      

Contract: This is a permanent employment contract with a 3 month probationary period.    

Salary: The full-time equivalent salary for this position is £40,000 – 45,000 per annum (pro rata to 7.5 hours per week).        

Location: Home-working.

The Role

To provide a high-quality housing management service, ensuring outstanding customer service and service delivery, by a being a primary point of contact for tenants. Engage with tenants to provide a responsive efficient housing management service that is consistently excellent for all tenancies. Housing Officers are expected to carry out the vast majority of their duties (70%) at our managed accommodation.

The Office Facilities and Safety Officer is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation, maintenance of a safe and healthy work environment; [by developing, implementing and monitoring safety policies and procedures] and overall management of the physical work environment This role ensures compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations, conducts risk assessments, and provides training to employees on safe work practices. By proactively identifying hazards and working closely with all departments. This role is key in creating a safe, comfortable, and productive workplace for all employees by overseeing the daily operations of the office facilities, including space planning, equipment management, and contractors.

The postholder will also play a key role in implementing sustainability initiatives, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and managing budgets to optimize facility-related expenses. Through proactive maintenance, effective space utilization, and managing contractors, the postholder will contribute to a positive and efficient working environment that supports the organization's overall goals and objectives.

• The ability to communicate in a clear and lively manner both in writing and verbally
