We are recruiting two new Trustees to join our Board with expertise in fundraising and communications/marketing. We welcome applications from candidates with strong experience in either area, or those with skills spanning both disciplines.
These voluntary roles require committed individuals who can contribute their time, expertise, insights, and passion for helping WeSwim achieve its goals in empowering adults with disabilities to get active, connect with others and build lasting confidence. Successful candidates will have a fantastic opportunity to make a lasting difference to the lives of disabled people across London.
WeSwim is a small charity in start-up mode which achieved charitable status from the Charity Commission in 2024 and currently has three Trustees on its Board.
Key Responsibilities
We are particularly seeking trustees who can lead in these priority areas:
Fundraising Leadership

Identify, lead and drive fundraising initiatives to secure sustainable financial resources for WeSwim

Develop and implement fundraising strategies, particularly focusing on corporate sponsorship

Build relationships with potential funders and sponsors
Communications & Marketing Leadership

Design and deliver a communications plan to help WeSwim achieve its objectives

Enhance connections with swimmers, volunteers, sponsors and the wider community

Develop marketing strategies to raise WeSwim's profile and reach
All trustees will also be involved in these core governance responsibilities (no prior experience necessary):

Governance: Ensure WeSwim complies with its governing documents, charity law, and other relevant legislation or regulations

Financial Oversight: Monitor the financial health of WeSwim, including approval of budgets and financial statements

Advocacy: Act as an ambassador for WeSwim, promoting its work and raising its profile within the community and beyond, especially within the disability community

Risk Management: Identify and manage risks to ensure WeSwim's sustainability and success

Collaboration: Work closely with fellow trustees, the CEO, staff, and volunteers to ensure effective team dynamics and operational efficiency

Responsibilities (specific to your role):
- Help to develop and approve the charity's fundraising strategy, ensuring it aligns with the charity's overall goals and values.
- Ensure compliance, taking responsibility for ensuring the charity's fundraising activities comply with all relevant laws and regulations, including those set by the Fundraising Regulator and the Charity Commission.
- Manage any risks associated with fundraising activities, including conflicts of interest, and ensuring the charity's reputation is protected.

- Collaborate with the trustee board to ensure that North Cotswold Foodbank’s financial dealings are systematically accounted for and on time, independently examined and made publicly available when necessary.
- Ensure your charity is accountable, actively complying with statutory accounting and reporting requirements and the law.
- Ensure appropriate financial plans are in place for future budget allocations as well as looking after contractual agreements with external partners that award money for core costs and additional projects.
- Ensure that North Cotswold Foodbank has appropriate procedures to comply with current legislation and good practice, including employment, health and safety, equal opportunities, safeguarding & GDPR compliance/data protection etc.
- Act with reasonable care and skill, giving your time, thought and energy to your role.
- Give good counsel and measured advice on any matter that requires it, acting in a collaborative, positive, and constructive way.

Across the UK, bladder sufferers are being left behind. 6% of women in England suffer with Recurrent Urinary Tract Infections (UTIs). 25% of all antibiotic prescriptions are for UTIs. Waiting times to see a Urologist stretch up to 12 months. Post-COVID, continence clinics have been cut, GP access is harder than ever, and too many people are left feeling dismissed, misdiagnosed, or even medically gaslit.

You'll be a finance professional with experience of bookkeeping standards, financial controls and processes, annual accounts production, budgeting and cash flow forecasting. A clear communicator with the ability to bring the financial information alive to non finance specialists.
You will also be willing to play an active role in areas such as forecasting, setting budgets, liaising with auditors.You'll have the skills to analyse proposals and examine their financial consequences and a willingness to be available to give financial advice and answer enquiries from any staff or volunteers on an ad hoc basis.
Essentially, you'll be committed to the purpose, objects and values of the organisation and be able to maintain confidentiality on sensitive and confidential information.

· Attending 6 Board meetings annually. Currently meetings are held virtually.

At Living Reasons, we believe that real change comes from lived experience. To make sure everything we do is relevant, effective, and grounded in the realities of people’s lives, we are creating a Lived Experience Advisory Board.
This is a non-executive, advisory role. Board members do not carry trustee responsibilities but instead play a vital part in shaping and guiding the organisation. The insights and perspectives of our board members will directly inform the decisions of our trustees, helping us stay focused on what truly matters to the people we support.
How the Board Works

The board is made up of different lived experience groups, each focusing on particular areas.

Members can meet in their groups to share experiences, support one another, and identify key issues.

Groups can also set up their own sub-groups where needed.

Each group decides what information it wants to share with Living Reasons — members are always in control of their voice.

From time to time, the full board meets together to discuss wider themes, shared experiences, and how these can guide the direction of Living Reasons.

People with lived experience of chronic pain conditions, either:

as a supporter, caregiver, guardian, or family member.

We will keep these as two separate groups (personal experience, and supporter/caregiver) so that conversations can be open and relevant to each perspective.

What is the plan?
The person who is starting the charity up is autistic, has ADHD, CPTSD and also multiple physical conditions that effect daily life and is part of the LGBTQ+ community and has faced a lot of issues in life because of these things.
Living Reasons is being created to fix what we think is a challenging situation that is getting harder to achieve every week, month and year in the current economic, political, environmental and societal landscape. It is not easily defined but we hope the charity objects below will help put context to what we want to achieve, what we can say is that below are the issues we are trying to address, how we do this will change as quickly as society does, but the issues we want to tackle are these:

Role Description: Treasurer
Position: Treasurer (Trustee)

Purpose of the Role
The Treasurer is a key member of the Board of Trustees, taking the lead in overseeing the financial health of the charity. They ensure proper financial management, reporting, and compliance with legal obligations, while supporting the Board to make sound financial decisions that enable the charity to achieve its mission in reptile welfare, conservation, and education.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Leadership

Monitor the financial standing of the charity and ensure effective financial controls are in place.

Unseen Expeditions UK is a newly forming Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) supporting mission-led charities and expedition projects across the UK and internationally. Our flagship initiative, The Unseen Mile, is a 4.5-year journey covering 25,000 miles across 37 countries. The Role
We are now seeking a Trustee with strong financial skills and sound understanding of the regulatory and governance landscape to join our Board, act as the lead for financial oversight, and help guide the organisation through its next stage of growth and impact.
Trustees are expected to use their knowledge, skills, and experience to ensure that Roald Dahl's Marvellous Children's Charity achieves its charitable objectives, represents the interests of all stakeholders, and acts as ambassadors for the charity.
Principle Responsibilities
· Strategic Leadership: Provide direction and advice that aligns with the charity's strategic plan and objectives, ensuring we stay true to RDMCC's mission and values.
· Governance and Compliance: Ensure effective governance and the smooth running of the organisation, maintaining financial stability and adhering to all legal and regulatory requirements, including those set by the Charity Commission.
· Financial Oversight: Monitor the charity's financial health, ensuring strong internal controls, risk management, and financial reporting. Consider the financial impact of new or revised activities, making sure RDMCC operates within its means.

· Support the development of management accounts, annual accounts, and statutory returns, ensuring compliance with charity law, Companies Act (where applicable), and relevant regulations (e.g., SORP).
· Lead on relationship management with external auditors.
· Ensure that robust financial controls, risk management processes, and policies are in place and adhered to.
Time Commitment & Location
- Approximately 10 days per year.
- Trustees are required to attend an induction at our office in Amersham.
- Trustees are expected to prepare for and attend all board meetings, held 3 times per year, generally in London during normal office hours, lasting approximately 3-4 hours.
- Trustee to chair the Finance and Investment sub-comittee. These meetings take place virtually, also 3 times per year.
