Apply to join the Carers´ Hub team as our Young Carers Support Worker. This rewarding role sits within the Young Carers Service and the successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking assessment with young carers and their families in order to identify their needs and develop a support plan.

You will work directly with young carers aged 5 and up to achieve positive outcomes, identifying and preventing inappropriate caring responsibilities through whole-family assessments and reviews and ensuring that young carers and their families have access to a range of emotional and practical support appropriate to their needs. You’ll also work closely with the Young Carers Team Leader to support the delivery of our young carers activities programme.

We are looking for someone who has a real passion about our mission and with proven ability in communicating sensitively with children, young people and their families.  You will have excellent organisational skills and be proficient in the use of IT.  You will need to be available for occasional evening and weekend work.

You will have experience working with vulnerable children and young people and will have a strong grasp of the realities of being a young carer in an inner city London borough.

 About the role

As a Principal Data Analyst in the Improvement Analytics Unit (IAU), you will collaborate with Senior Analytical Managers and Assistant Directors to develop and deliver an ambitious programme of work evaluating major health initiatives. You will lead IAU projects, support team members, and build relationships with key stakeholders at both local and national levels.

Initially the postholder will work predominantly within our growing technology-enabled change (TEC) evaluation programme. The TEC programme involves the causal evaluation of interventions or pathway changes in health and care enabled by innovative technology. The postholder may also work on projects on other programmes of work, including primary care and health system performance. Ideally the postholder will have experience of evaluations of new technologies or technology-enabled service change in health or care.

Managing multiple projects, you will identify, design, and take responsibility for the execution of new projects in collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders. You will lead and mentor Senior Data Analysts and Data Analysts and support their professional development. You will ensure all analyses and reports are of the highest quality and effectively communicate findings to diverse audiences. You will provide expert advice on causal analytical methods and study design, particularly relating to technology-enabled change.

SUMMARY

Position Title:  Operations Lead

Level: Level 4

Salary: £31, 320 - 36, 720 (FTE yearly)

Location: Liberation centre Brixton,  London (New office in Brixton)/ Remote working within the UK with at least 2 days work from our office (Pro rata for part time)

Contract: Part time (32hrs/weekly),  fixed-term contract for 2 years, with potential for extension and role expansion.

Hours: TAA has flexible working hours, with some expected evenings and weekends due to the nature of the role. All extra hours are reimbursed as Time off in Lieu (TOIL).

The Advocacy Academy is an activist youth movement. We serve as the political home for grassroots youth organising and the catalyst for collective action. The lives of the young people we work alongside have been directly shaped by living in an unjust world, and we exist to turn their anger into action. 

Young people are often the catalysts for major social change, from the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee at the heart of the Civil Rights Movement, to the Soweto Uprising mobilising young people to resist the apartheid regime's education policies, to the Sunrise Movement redrawing the electoral map across America, and more recently encampments and protests across the world protesting the genocide in Palestine. How successfully they achieve real and lasting change depends on whether they are organised and whether they have the right strategy and tactics to be effective. 

This is why we are looking for an Operations Lead capable of envisioning the full journey of a young person through their time with The Advocacy Academy from the first activation point to whenever they choose to end their journey with us. We want someone who is excited work with us in creating an environment that supports our mission and aspiration for our young people.

We want our young leaders to win and to build real power across the UK that ensures that the generations that follow aren’t just inheriting our mess, but our equipped and ready to fix it. That is why we are looking for someone passionate, a trusted partner, and the go-to person who will support us in all aspects of facility management. Working closely with the Operations and Community team, you will be responsible for the physical spaces and infrastructure within TAA. This includes overseeing the maintenance, security, and functionality of the Liberation Centre, equipment, and physical assets. Your focus is on the efficient operation of the physical environment.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

1. You will become a key member of the Finance, HR & Operations Team, including but not limited to:
   1. Supporting the Director of Finance, HR & Operations in maintaining and improving the relevant operational systems and processes.
   2. Supporting the Director of Finance, HR, and Operations in ensuring the delivery of our Liberation Centre strategy: working closely with the Community team to ensure the Centre provides a functional, welcoming, inclusive, and safe space environment for our staff, young people, and community.
   3. Building relationships with other departments, engaging with them to understand their needs, and communicating regular Operations updates.
2. You will ensure that your responsibilities run like well-oiled machines by being a conductor of the orchestra through becoming a key member of the Finance, HR and Operations team supporting the team to achieve their strategic objectives for the year:
   1. Provide Support for TAA’s facilities, including cost savings and ensuring a safe and conducive work environment for our staff, members, and community groups by:
      • Supporting the Director of Finance, HR, and Ops in ensuring the maintenance of our Liberation Centre, which includes: establishing protocols and processes for healthy work environments, supporting in making the space accessible and safe for all its user groups.
      • Supporting maintenance and safety checks are regularly carried out at the Liberation Centre, including security and fire systems, evacuation, and emergency drills.
      • Acting as the main point of contact with the council and centre manager and liaising on matters related to maintenance and repair.
      • Being the main point of contact for building contractors.
      • Supporting with identifying first aiders and marshals, acting as one of them, and ensuring that the first aid box is adequately stocked up at the Liberation Centre and that the fire extinguishers are within date.
      • Supporting the Director of Finance, HR, and Operations with the development of applicable risk assessment forms (e.g., general risk assessment for the Liberation Centre, fire risk assessment, COVID, remote work, employee wellbeing, incident report, etc.) and their completion as may be required.
      • Rolling out mandatory Health and Safety training courses and undergoing regular H&S training to keep your knowledge updated and informed of changes in regulations.
      • Ensuring the space is well-stocked, and holding our procurement practices 
      • Liaising with our cleaner and making sure that the relationship works well and that the cleaner is supported in their access of the space
      • Supporting the Community team in holding overall safety practices for the Liberation Centre 
   2. Provide Support on TAA IT infrastructure, to include but not limited to:
      • Act as the primary point of contact for our IT support provider, engaging with them to ensure they are managing troubleshooting and issue resolution well.
      • Support the Finance, HR and Ops Director with planning for future IT infrastructure needs, keeping scalability and cost-efficiency in mind.
      • Assist the Director Finance and Resources with monitoring IT and data protection compliance throughout the organisation, ensuring secure data storage, transfers, archiving and deletion.
      • Sourcing and Setting up laptops and phones for staff, and supporting staff in using tech as part of inductions.
      • Keep updated with changes in legislation that may need to be considered within The Advocacy Academy’s facilities and IT management.
      • Managing our trello project management tool.
      • Leading on tech repair via apple support or penelope for the staff team
   3. Provide HR support, to include but not limited to
      • Supporting the Head of People with DBS checks and the onboarding of new staff, ensuring they have the necessary information and equipment for their work.
      • Working with the Head of People to ensure that all our candidates have a great experience from the beginning to the end. 
      • Support with Office induction for new starters.
      • Supporting with planning social events.
      • Supporting on tech off  boarding for staff leaving
   4. Provide M & E Support, to include but not limited to
      • Coordinating and supporting the implementation of  monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEAL) infrastructure across departments to track impact and efficiency.
      • Managing and optimising Airtable dashboards and databases to streamline data reporting and enable insights for decision-making.
   5. Provide Finance Support, to include but not limited to:
      • Be the main point of contact for our day to day Host finance administration. 
      • Supporting our team with generating sales invoices.
      • Monitoring and responding to our Operations and expenses and invoicing slack and email messages.
      • Processing invoices and expenses in a timely and accurate manner.
      • Supporting fundraising team with gift-aid reconciliation.

The Director of Finance & Governance is a key member of Helen Bamber Foundation’s Management Team and plays a pivotal role in designing and delivering the organisation’s strategy and approach. The role will lead the finance infrastructure of the organisation and prioritise enabling the organisation’s growth.  You will work in close collaboration with the CEO and other members of the Mangement Team to develop the capacity, capability and impetus of the organisation in achieving impact at scale through direct delivery, partnerships and systems change for survivors of torture and trafficking across the UK and globally.

Your priorities will include providing strategic leadership in developing and managing finance and leading on several governance systems and functions, as well as directly leading on specific strategic projects. You will contribute to the development and implementation of a strategy to secure the organisation’s  long-term financial health and growth, enabling us to deliver our vision and mission. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

Strategic leadership and management

Reporting to the CEO, and working closely with the Management Team and the Board, the Director of Finance & Governance will have responsibilities to:

• Work collaboratively with Management Team colleagues to provide operational leadership and development for the whole organisation, building our capacity and capability to deliver our strategy. 
• Work with the CEO to develop robust governance systems and infrastructure that will strengthen accountability, and support growth and deliver impact.
• Lead, manage and develop the Finance Team supported by the Senior Finance Manager.

• Conduct strategic financial planning to support the decision making of the Management team, Board sub-committees and the Board, and report to the Board as appropriate working with the Executive Team Assistant in this regard.

• Oversee and regularly review and update the organisational risk register, including financial and governance risks..
• Act as strategic lead on processes, systems development and internal controls.

Finance oversight and leadership

• Oversee all aspects of finance to enable effective day-to-day running of the Helen Bamber Foundation group and to support the continuous improvement of employee experience.
• Finalise annual financial statements/periodic financial reports (where required), and provide them to the CEO, Board and Board subcommittees for consideration and approval.
• Lead on the Helen Bamber Foundation Group audit process, working with the external auditors.
• Ensuring all statutory and non-statutory reporting requirements are met.
• Lead on budgeting and reforecasting across the organisation, supporting and challenging other teams to predict income and expenditure and make sound financial decisions, presenting to the Board and Board subcommittees.
• Support organisational planning by developing the systems to enable teams to model potential future work - e.g. costs of expansion of an existing programme or modelling potential new programmes and projects.
• Oversee the production of management accounting information, including internal monthly management accounts, quarterly reports for the Board, and financial reports for funders. Develop, maintain and monitor the financial systems of the organisation to ensure the accurate & timely production of these reports.
• Ensure compliance with agreements and contracts in relation to banks and external service providers.
• Monitor and report on the overall funding status, and ensure the timely reporting on grants is well supported.

• Support the preparation of applications for fundraising. Conduct financial analysis and review of existing and proposed strategic programmes, projects, and campaigns, contributing to decision making in this area.

• Oversee staff payroll, handling of petty cash and banking of donations, management of activity fees and credit control process.

Governance

• Work with the CEO and Executive Team Assistant to ensure that governance arrangements are fit-for-purpose, compliant and embody the spirit of partnership which defines the Helen Bamber Foundation Group.
• Support the Board and Board sub-committees, producing papers, and monitoring actions.
• Manage the organisational risk register including updating and monitoring of actions and Board discussions.
• Work with the Board to continue the development of outstanding governance policies and practices.
• Work with the CEO to develop and evolve the induction and training schedules for Trustees.
• Act in the capacity of Company Secretary.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

 Experience

• A relevant professional qualification in accountancy (CIMA, ACA, ACCA, CIPFA) or substantial relevant finance experience.

Role Purpose

The Operations Director is a critical leadership role responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective running of all operational aspects of Katherine Low Settlement. This role oversees the day-to-day operational leadership of the charity, ensuring that its systems, processes, and teams are aligned with strategic objectives and compliant with relevant legislation.

The Noah’s Ark Charity supports the Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital for Wales in providing world-class care, helping to ensure the best outcome and experience possible for children and their families.

Having raised more than £30 million to build and equip the hospital, today we continue to work hand in hand with the NHS, providing funding for the most up-to-date equipment and facilities. We also fund services like the play specialist team and emotional support for families.

This is an opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join a small but determined team.  Working closely with the wider charity team, this role offers a real opportunity to see the impact that your work has on the children and families we support and to grow our fundraising reach within your geographical region.

The geographical region will cover anything west of Bridgend and up to Aberystwyth. Ideally, candidates would be based in the Carmarthen/Llanelli area. This is a home-based role, with frequent travel throughout Wales, and monthly travel to Cardiff.

Scope of role

This recently created role within the Noah’s Ark Charity, which will grow our regional community fundraising presence and offering.  The postholder will know the West Wales area well and will become the expert in fundraising opportunities within the region, building strong relationships within the community, including companies and will develop supporter-led activity. The postholder will plan for and deliver income for the charity within the region, in line with wider fundraising strategy. 

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Income generation

- To plan for and deliver income to target through key performance indicators as agreed with community fundraising manager.

- To develop new supporter relationships within the community, in a planned way, to achieve income and provide excellent supporter care to ensure the relationship is ongoing, beyond one-off support for the charity.

Based in Surrey, the Orpheus Centre is an independent specialist college and charity that focuses on developing independence skills through performing and visual arts and makes dramatic improvements to young disabled adults’ lives.  We are currently looking for a driven and pro-active Events Fundraiser to develop, coordinate and deliver the charity’s fundraising events and orchestrate experiences from initial concept to post event analysis. This includes pre-event planning and development, concept development and proposal.

Working closely with the Head of Capital Appeal and Senior Philanthropy and Partnerships Manager, you will design and deliver events which steward and develop key contacts as part of our Capital Appeal.

What you’ll do

ShareAction’s Financial Sector Research team works towards holding financial institutions accountable for their impact on globally important challenges such as tackling climate change, upholding human rights and reversing biodiversity loss.

Asset managers, insurance companies and banks hold a huge amount of influence over the world’s largest companies through their investment and underwriting activities. Our reports rank many of the world’s largest financial institutions on their approach to environmental and social issues, pushing for and facilitating change in the financial sector.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Lead the delivery of our 2026 benchmark of some of the world’s largest insurance companies (following our 2024 report), using your project management and research skills to ensure timely delivery of a high-quality publication and support the development of junior researchers in the team.
• Coordinate with civil society allies, executing the survey in collaboration with external partners for the first time, as well as continuing to work synergistically with other leading global NGOs.
• Present our work externally and engage with financial institutions, regulators, and industry bodies to provide detailed recommendations for improvement, supporting parallel workstreams on our benchmarks of asset managers and European banks.

Leading a small team of dedicated researchers within the Financial Sector Research team, you will support the Head of the team to ensure delivery of the insurance sector benchmark, one of ShareAction’s key reports ranking financial institutions. This involves organising the team to collect information from institutions and databases, analyse quantitative and qualitative data, produce engaging graphics to communicate results and translate this analysis into actionable steps for financial institutions to take. You would collaborate with teams across ShareAction and strengthen connections with other NGOs and external experts to ensure the rigour of this research.

This is a very exciting time to be joining the team. ShareAction is currently reviewing our strategy for work on the insurance sector, and this role therefore presents an opportunity to help shape the dialogue on how the benchmarks connect with engagement and campaigning expertise in ShareAction to achieve maximum impact.

We are looking for a person with excellent project management and communication skills, experience of research and a passion to make a difference within the financial sector at a challenging and critical time.

This will be a 6-month fixed-term position to cover the leave for an existing role.

What you’ll bring to the team

Essential

• Demonstrated experience in project management, with excellent organisational and time management skills.
• Proven ability to manage competing demands and support junior staff members to deliver high-quality work and meet deadlines.
• Strong research experience in one or more of the following areas: economics, finance, sustainability, climate, biodiversity, labour rights, or public health.
• A good understanding of responsible investment and its implications for different types of financial institutions, as well as the current state of play, trends and challenges.
• Line management experience and the ability to motivate and develop a small, dedicated team of driven researchers.
• Proven ability to handle relationships with multiple external stakeholders.
• Any experience programming (ideally in Python) and interest in further developing this expertise.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Strong communication skills in written and spoken English.
• A passion for the work ShareAction does and for making change happen.

Desirable

• Experience working in or with the finance sector.
• Experience in conducting surveys and/or carrying out qualitative or quantitative research on financial institutions.
• Experience integrating innovative tools into research processes, particularly AI tools.
• Deep subject matter knowledge in climate change, biodiversity, human rights and/or public health.
• Experience of project management in a matrix management environment.
• Experience with Microsoft Office 365, particularly SharePoint.
• Experience with CRM systems, ideally Salesforce.
• Any experience programming (ideally in Python) and interest in further developing this expertise.

This newly created Fundraising Lead position will play a vital role in helping to deliver Flynne's Barn's core work; secure the financial standing of the charity; and develop exciting, forward-thinking projects. 

You will be a self-starting, results-driven fundraiser who is comfortable working independently as well as collaboratively in a small team. This is a fundraising role that offers both creativity and structure, relationship-building and strategic thinking — perfect for someone who loves making things happen and wants their work to really matter. This is a remote role with the need to visit Flynne’s Barn’s Lake District centre on an occasional basis. 

As an initial part time role, this will be ideally suited to a consultancy contract.

Flynne’s Barn is a charity supporting young people living with cancer. We offer residential stays in the Lake District, bringing young people with a shared experience of cancer together to build community. During a stay we offer a range of outdoor and creative activities. We aim to provide the space for young visitors to relax, find friendship and to build confidence in a safe, supportive context. We also provide an online/telephone counselling service for young people and their families.
