About the role 

The Marketing and Communications Manager is a brand-new role to the organisation.  This provides a great opportunity for the successful candidate to make the role their own as they support the organisation to reach and work with more centres in the formal and informal education landscapes. 

The role is ideal for someone looking to utilise the breadth of their marketing experience and build upon their team leadership competencies. The Marketing and Communications Manager role will be key as we drive towards our objective of being recognised as the trusted voice of leadership skill development for all young people and communities by 2033.

 Role purpose: 

• To develop and implement comprehensive content and marketing plans that proactively contribute to the organisation’s objectives. 

• To plan, execute and optimise marketing campaigns that support the realisation of the organisation’s new business and retention targets. 

• To create, coordinate and manage the distribution of content that supports the organisation’s reach, credibility and engagement. 

 Main duties and responsibilities 

• Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive content and marketing plans across various channels, including digital and traditional marketing. Support with the integration of these to wider communication planning and needs. Integrate key business intelligence and context provided by colleagues and teams into plans. 

• Campaign management: Oversee the planning, execution, and optimisation of marketing campaigns, ensuring alignment with overall business goals. 

• Content creation: Manage the creation and distribution of engaging marketing content, including website copy, blog posts, social media content, and marketing collateral. 

  Ensure all content is consistent with our brand voice, style and tone, and adheres to the organisation’s house style writing guide. 

• Market research: Conduct regular market research and analysis to identify trends, customer insights, and competitor activities. 

• Performance analysis: Track, analyse, and report on the performance of marketing campaigns, using data to identify areas for improvement and optimisation. 

• Budget coordination: Work with the Head of MarComms to support the management and monitoring of the marketing budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources, providing analysis of return on investment (ROI) for marketing activities. 

• Team leadership: Supervise and mentor two marketing team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment. Drive the development of internal processes to increase efficiency, transparency and communication in the team. 

• Relationship management: Build and maintain relationships with external vendors, agencies, and key stakeholders.

You’ll work closely with our Senior Manager of Major Gifts and Senior Director of Fundraising, Marketing and Operations to launch and grow our DAF strategy in the UK. Essential Responsibilities

• Align the UK DAF strategy with the broader high net worth engagement strategy , collaborating with colleagues to maximise impact. 
• Build Humane World for Animals’ UK DAF portfolio: identify, cultivate, solicit and deliver significant relationships and partnerships with wealth advisors and DAF managers. 
• Conduct outreach to wealth advisors outside the Humane World for Animals network who may not yet be familiar with our work and raising our profile with this specific audience, including via networking and events opportunities. 
• Formulate and implement individual strategies for developing key DAF partnerships and initiatives around programmatic priorities, mobilising necessary internal and external resources to ensure all partnerships are effectively executed and partners’ needs are fully met. Includes proposal development work. 
• Act as an internal expert on the DAF landscape within the UK, bringing this to bear when developing proposals and ideas with programmatic staff. 
• Contribute to internal collaboration on breakthrough solutions that can deliver social impact at scale for complex philanthropic relationships which span a variety of mechanisms of giving.

SHINE is a membership organisation offering free services and support to over 14,700 members living with spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus, normal pressure hydrocephalus (NPH), and associated conditions.

Our Commercial Team 

We have a small commercial team with big ambitions for the sector.

Currently, we hold a single commercial contract worth around £3m per year delivered through 12 libraries. Our aim is to reach a point where we have a menu of commercial contracts that all of our 176 member library services can choose to benefit from according to the skills and assets of their service, their focus and strategy and of course the needs of their communities.

In the current funding climate for local authorities and local government services, these contracts are not just about the income and the services they can provide but about demonstrating nationally the power of the library sector, and how national services can be delivered locally through library services and the communities they serve.

Our approach is to identify and secure contracts procured by national government – either directly or with partners to extend the libraries’ capabilities – with an eye to local delivery through the library services. This allows us to centrally hold and manage the risk of the national contract, leaving the library services to deliver themselves.

We see libraries as a solution to many of society’s challenges and this is one route we use to bring the libraries into that solution.  

This area is part of our long term strategy – we are seeking to build the commercial team with this role and while it is initially a 12-month contract, our hope is that with the role in place we can generate the income to sustain and build on it.

As Business Development Manager for our Community Services will focus and lead on:

· Analysing and unlocking opportunities for new business

You will be responsible for identifying and building partnerships with NHS Trusts, Audiology Departments and ICBs to secure funding and expand our RNID Near You services across the UK. · Identify and build relationships with potential funders such as NHS Foundation Trusts, Audiology Departments, and ICBs to support service expansion.

· Collaborate with the Bids and Tender Manager to secure funding and develop compelling business cases for new RNID Near You services.

An opportunity has become available to support income generation across AoC, with a particular focus on sport and physical activity, as Business Development Manager. This role is available as a fixed term contract, and is offered at an exciting time as new strategies are implemented.
 
Working within the central Business Development Team, who contribute to the delivery of AoC’s strategic objectives and support our members to deliver excellent outcomes for students, the role is responsible for delivering a coherent approach to income generation for funded projects, sponsorship, and commercial partnerships.
 
The ideal candidate will be an exceptional communicator who has financial acumen and strong negation skills. Business Development — Core Focus
 
 

• Develop and lead the business development strategy to expand market presence, secure new contracts, and grow sustainable income streams.

Fundraising — Leadership Oversight
 

• Provide strategic oversight of all fundraising activities including trusts, foundations, major donors, and institutional funders.
• Directly line manage the fundraising function, providing leadership, coaching, and performance oversight.
• Support the development of high-quality funding applications, stewardship plans, and donor communications.
• Ensure fundraising activities comply with ethical standards, contractual obligations, and regulatory requirements.

Person Specification
 
Essential

• Senior-level experience (7 years) in business development, commercial partnerships, or strategic fundraising,
• Experience in a non-profit, NGO, social enterprise, or impact-driven business.
• Proven track record of securing significant business contracts or partnerships.

As Team Manager you will work closely with key senior managers across education, health and social care to identify how collectively we can provide the right support, in the right way at the right time. About the Role

Are you someone who is passionate about seeing positive change in our world? Can you bring knowledge and creativity in designing innovative and effective peacebuilding programmes?

We are looking for someone to support our programmes and institutional fundraising with excellent writing skills, who is passionate about addressing the root causes of and inequalities caused by conflict. You will be someone passionate about the work Cord does and who can bring technical institutional funding expertise alongside peacebuilding knowledge to our small and committed team.

In this role you will lead the development of new programmes and institutional funding bids in line with Cord’s peacebuilding approach and 5 main programme areas. You will manage proposal submissions to Cord's key donors such as the EU, US State Department, GIZ, SDC, UN Peacebuilding Fund etc. You will be working closely with country teams to design and write proposals based on strong project designs developed in partnership with our local partners.

The role will also operate at a strategic level by managing Cord’s relationships with key donors and shaping how Cord communicates about its programmes and the added-value that Cord brings.
