The Role

As Finance Manager, you will be responsible for managing and monitoring all charitable income and expenditure, financial forecasting, producing management accounts, annual financial accounts, and maintaining effective control systems. The post holder will also have the opportunity to work on strategic projects such as developing our financial practice and policies, grant reconciliation and forecasting.

The successful candidate will have charity accounting experience and at least qualified by experience in charity accounting. In addition to the relevant technical skills, we are looking for someone who is committed to our mission, takes a proactive approach, is excited to support our responsive, dynamic organisation to develop and grow, and has excellent people skills to build and maintain effective relationships with colleagues.

Whilst this is a remote role, some occasional travel (approx 6-10 times per year) to London and the South East for meetings and get togethers will be expected.

Key Responsibilities

Day to Day Financial transactions 

• Accounts Receivable

• Accounts Payable

• Bank Reconciliation

• Payroll

• Process expense claims

Financial Control

• Ensure financial controls and the integrity of the financial records are maintained

• Complete month end processes and prepare management accounts, KPIs and commentaries on a timely basis

• Lead the audit process and preparation of statutory accounts.

Financial Planning

• Work with the CEO and Executive Director to prepare budgets and forecasts

• Monitor performance against project specific and organisational budgets throughout the financial year

• Develop projections to support strategic and business planning

• Monitor and report on reserve levels based on current projections

• Support the fundraising functions (Executive Director) with ongoing analysis and reporting

• Prepare and manage cashflow forecasts

Secretariat Duties

• Preparation of papers for, attendance at, quarterly Board meetings

• Arranging and minuting Quarterly Board meetings, 

Supporting the organisation

• Business planning including tracking multi-year grant commitments and understanding the balance of reserves after future year income and grant commitments

• Support Fundraising with donor reporting requirements, reconciliation of income received and reviewing of income against budget and forecast

• Contribute to strategic projects and funding bids.

Audit and Taxation

• Lead the relationship with the auditors, ensuring that the audit is delivered on schedule and all statutory filings are made on time.

• Responsible for the preparation of statutory accounts and supporting schedules.

• Liaise with tax advisors to ensure compliance.

• Complete quarterly VAT returns and Gift Aid returns.

Treasury

•  Lead in the management of bank accounts and deposits.

The salary is £38,000 FTE pro rata, for 21 hours per week, with 17 days annual leave including bank holidays.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

We are looking for a dynamic finance professional, eager to make a difference. We need someone as keen to get stuck in with the day to day administrative aspects of the role, as with helping us lead the organisation through strategic planning and growth. 

You have experience in effectively managing finances in a charity setting and can manage your own time effectively with great motivation. You are able to communicate effectively with colleagues, requesting information and presenting findings in a clear and approachable manner. 

Ideally, you combine the professionalism of the corporate world with the heart of a grassroots movement, directly contributing to the impact of this fast-paced, responsive organisation.

Essential

• Sound knowledge and demonstrable experience of UK Charity SORP, charity sector financial practices and preparing statutory accounts

• Qualified by experience or part qualified CIMA, ACCA, ACA 

• Experience of preparing and managing an audit process

• A critical eye for reviewing accounting transactions and ensuring accuracy

• Strong attention to detail with a clear and diligent working approach

• Experience of VAT within a charity context

• Excellent IT skills, including experience of using Microsoft Office; in particular great Excel skills

• Ability to work independently and use initiative to manage a busy and varied workload

• Experience of using QuickBooks

• A proactive and solutions focussed approach

JOB SUMMARY:

The Programme Manager is a key role in the Rio Ferdinand Foundation’s isle of Ireland team. This post is responsible for managing an exciting new cross-border PEACE Academy programme in Belfast and Sligo, funded by the Special EU Programme Body (SEUPB) PEACEPLUS programme https://www.seupb.eu/

The aim of this new three-year programme, is to deliver and evidence a PEACE Academy pathway of engagement, learning, social action and employability that will inspire young people from communities in Northern Ireland and Ireland to create shared experiences and build a long-term response to sectarianism, racism and hate on a cross community and cross border basis.

KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

This role will:

§  Establish and develop our new PEACE Academy Programme in partnership with Glentoran FC and Sligo Rovers FC together with a network of grass-root partners, as well as community policing and other strategic stakeholders.

§  Line manage a new programme staff team including 2x Regional Coordinators, a part time Training Lead, part time Monitoring Officer, a part time Admin Officer and a part time Finance Officer as well as sessional staff.

§  Lead and manage a three-year cross border and cross community youth and community development programme engaging Catholic / Nationalist / Republican (CNR), Protestant/ Unionist/ Loyalist (PUL), and newcomer communities.

§  Oversee the development of sessions which utilise youth culture as a platform for personal development, working with your staff team to design, deliver and manage engaging sessions and opportunities utilising music and the creative arts, sport, and digital media.

§  Develop, and oversee the delivery of our youth development pathway across both regions, including twice weekly sessions, workshops, seminars and accredited training pathways, mentoring, cross-border events and initiatives, careers events and pathways with a range of commercial partners, and strategic stakeholder engagement.

§  Quality assure the delivery of sessions and outputs linked to the personal development of young people. 

§  Encourage and support the involvement of volunteers from the local community.

§  Develop positive relationships with key strategic partners involved in the project and ensure links are made and information shared with appropriate agencies.

§  Work closely with our CEO and Director for Ireland & Northern Ireland on the strategic positioning and development of the Foundation and the legacy of the PEACE Academy programme.

§  Work with our Director of Operations to establish and implement a robust monitoring, evaluation and learning framework for the programme with key data capture tools in place from the outset.

§  Be responsible for the delivery of specified targets for the programme through producing regular action plans and work programmes, ensuring that all project planning, monitoring, and evaluation procedures are implemented and adhered to.

§  Ensure all monitoring data is captured and recorded against targets ensuring funder reports are produced and meetings attended as and when required.

§  Ensure all administrative and financial functions of the programme are conducted in accordance with funder requirements

§  Work with our Directors on the financial and wider reporting of the programme as required by our funder.

§  Work with an external monitoring agency to ensure their independent impact evaluation is completed alongside our own internal monitoring.

§  Work with our Director of Development on shaping and implementing a communications strategy for the PEACE Academy.

§  Keep up to date with local and regional trends in sports/arts for social change and work with young people.

§  Actively represent Rio Ferdinand Foundation at working groups, initiatives, and events.

§  Assist and contribute to the on-going development and strategy of the Rio Ferdinand Foundation’s work in Sligo and Belfast as well as across the island of Ireland.

§  Develop and maintain key relationships with partners from across various sectors including, statutory, private, business and third sectors.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

· Work flexibly where appropriate on evening, weekends and during school holidays to ensure full and supportive delivery of the programme.

· Undertake new training to develop work related skills and knowledge

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills

§  Relevant academic/industry qualifications: e.g. Project Management, Youth Work, Certificate in Community Sports Work (CCSW), Arts Practitioner,  etc.

§  Ideally educated to degree standard or equivalent through experience

§  An appropriate qualification relevant to working with young people

§  Sports, Arts or Digital Media qualification (desirable)

Experience

§  Have at least five years’ experience of working with disaffected young people

§  Have at least three years’ experience of supervising and managing staff

§  A proven track record of forming productive relationships with a wide variety of organisations and individuals from diverse backgrounds and multi-agency co-ordination

§  Planning, delivering, and managing community focused, social inclusion initiatives, ideally working with local authorities, police, sports clubs and youth justice groups

Following the success and growth of the sporting and third-party mass participation portfolio (5% increase in income) over the past two years, we want to ensure we are set up to deliver the future growth ambition that will see Sporting Events income grow from £4m in 25/26, up to £8m in 2033, and are introducing this new role into the team. Sporting Events income at Alzheimer’s Research UK consists of third-party partnerships, Own Place in Event and challenge events, whilst bespoke/owned events sit within Sporting, they do not sit in this part of the team.

The Senior Sporting Manager will play a crucial role in the strategy, planning, delivery and development of all third-party and Own place in Event activity across the charity, leading a Sporting Events team of 10, with direct line management of two Sporting Events Managers.

Reporting into the Head of Sporting Events (HOSE) and working with the wider Supporter Led Fundraising department, this role will put the Alzheimer’s Research UK front of mind with supporters taking on mass fundraising third-party events, and with the third-party events companies themselves, making us charity of choice. The role will work closely with teams across the organisation, particularly the Regional Fundraising Team, Corporate Partnerships, Data, Digital and Marketing.

Main duties and responsibilities of the role:

· Support the Head of Sporting Events in the overarching third-party mass participation strategy to deliver ambitious growth between 2025 and 2033

· Lead on all day-to-day delivery of third-party sporting events (FY 25/26- £4.8m income stream): taking lead on Paris Marathon COTY and London Marathon COTY worth £2m

· Work with Head of Sporting Events to identify and pitch for opportunities, and maintain the sporting partnership pipeline

· Support Head of Sporting Events in driving efficiencies in ways of working, spotting opportunities, partnerships development, and sector networking

· Inspire and engage colleagues internally and ensure collaboration on any new opportunities, and cross-sell of campaigns and propositions where relevant e.g. TBH or Dementia Aware education

· Alongside the Insight team and fundraising portfolio team lead on all insight measures including impact and LTV

· Line management of two Sporting Managers

· Manage the day to day running of the wider Sporting Events team, providing clear goals and direction for the two Sporting Managers and the team underneath them (4 Officers, 4 execs)

· Act as second in command for any internal ARUK projects that involve Sporting Events

· Lead on ensuring Project Embed Salesforce works for the Sporting Events team, and processes are logged etc.

· Support the SLF leadership in team in driving forward against F&M goals

· Inspire and engage colleagues internally, delivering internal communications to ensure that Sporting Events activity is alive, understood and actively developed.

What we are looking for:

· Demonstrable and relevant experience working at a senior level in mass participation and third-party sporting events and influencing senior leadership teams.

· Experience in managing budgets exceeding £2m

· Experience managing agencies and suppliers and ensuring all contractual requirements are delivered on time and budget.

· Experience in business development- pitching and working through a pipeline of opportunities

· Demonstrable experience in managing a team of mixed levels to achieve goals and maintain a happy culture

· Experience of analysing and monitoring data in a consumer/supporter environment and utilising outputs to advise and drive forward activity.

· Skills in producing evaluations, reporting on objectives and sharing insights.

· Demonstrable ability to work with a variety of different internal and external stakeholders at all levels

· Willingness to travel throughout the UK and to work event weekends including overnight stays when required

Ways of working: As part of our Agile ways of working you will be required to work approximately 2 days a week from the office, which is subject to the requirements of the role and the business needs. Flexibility on where you work can be split between working from home and our office.

This is a key role driving the delivery of the Education Programme of a leading mental health charity focused on supporting the systems around children and young people. We are looking for a compassionate, flexible and focused professional with excellent interpersonal skills and experience of managing a complex and substantial portfolio of work, who is eager to work with the CWT team to achieve meaningfully.

The Education Programme Manager’s workload includes supporting a small Education team to deliver specific projects; delivering key organisational projects directly; managing programme level work; liaising with the Education trainers; and supporting Education-related work across the Trust – from fundraising to reporting. We anticipate this role will provide the opportunity for the successful candidate to grow into the staff team's ‘education specialist’, by keeping abreast of key sector developments, while retaining a keen understanding of when further specialist input would be helpful.

• Work in collaboration with colleagues with lived experience of mental health difficulties, ensuring their voice is central to our work. 

• Ensure that considerations of equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility are incorporated meaningfully across the Education programme delivery.

• Support and retain oversight of the Clinical Lead’s quality assurance of the Education trainers on an annual basis, or other frequency as agreed. 

• Support CWT’s Fundraising team to identify potential funding opportunities within the Education programme, and at times support bid development by developing viable project proposals swiftly.

• Develop and maintain a strategic overview of ‘the Education landscape’ so as to:

• advise the CEO and Head of Programmes of key developments that will help shape the Education programme’s future direction (alongside freelance experts who are further embedded into specific areas within education), and

• to represent the Trust externally and developing our reach, impact and credibility in new areas, so as to help CWT achieve the growth strategy laid out in our Strategic Business Plan (currently 2025-27).

• Work with other teams within the Trust to identify opportunities for cross programme working to develop engagement with our information, training and services. 

• Manage a small Education team to deliver effectively and efficiently; while supporting their development, embodying a collaborative and supportive leadership culture in line with the Trust’s values. 

• Approve Education programme expenditure as per a delegated budget, including querying unexpected expenditure and highlighting anomalies to the Finance team; and supporting budget development and reforecasting processes by offering a key ‘front line’ perspective on priorities and costs. 

• Always ensure compliance to data protection, safeguarding, confidentiality and relevant organisational policies and procedures.

This is an important strategic role within our organisation. You will lead the Welcome to All partnership of 10 organisations which supports displaced people in Somerset. You will also provide line management for the managers of the CCS Welcome Hub provision.

Overall purpose

The Philanthropy Manager will manage and steward a portfolio of funders and donors – across trusts and foundations, statutory sources and major donors – to secure annual and multi-year gifts in support of Breaking Barriers’ vision. As well as managing relationships with our existing donors there will be a focus on creating new relationships through proactive prospecting and developing a long-term strategic approach to stewardship and relationship development.

You will be an ambitious, enthusiastic, energetic, and autonomous fundraiser with a demonstrable passion for supporting people from a refugee background. You will have a strong track record of high-value relationship management and fundraising, ideally specialising in Trusts, Statutory, Major Donor fundraising or a related area. We are looking for someone who can successfully secure and steward gifts of 5 figures and above – so evidence of stewarding high-value relationships and high-quality written skills are key.  You will collaborate with additional fundraisers across Trusts, Statutory, Corporate and Major Gifts to coordinate approaches and maximise opportunities across all functions.

We welcome applicants with relevant transferable skills from other sectors and other areas of fundraising but a strong knowledge of the fundamentals of grant fundraising is essential. We are looking for a passionate individual who can get people excited about the work we do and who wants to make a difference in the lives of individuals from a refugee background. The Role: Family Services Manager

As our Family Services Manager, you will provide operational and strategic oversight of all service delivery at Home-Start Lambeth. You will be instrumental in ensuring our services deliver real value to the families we support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Service Leadership: Oversee and develop service delivery, ensuring strategic and operational priorities are met.
