About the role

As a Volunteer Peer Group Facilitator you will: 

As a Volunteer Peer Group Facilitator, you will play a key role in delivering our peer support groups. These groups run all around the county throughout the week. You will work alongside our team of peer support workers and other peer support volunteers.

There is some flexibility with volunteering opportunities ranging from a minimum of 2-3 hours weekly to monthly commitments.

There may also be the opportunity to attend different community events to advertise the service.

There will be full training opportunities to ensure that you are successful in your volunteering role, as well as regular check-in meetings.

About the service  

The Empowering Minds Gloucestershire Service currently run group sessions for service users across Gloucestershire. 

Our team is dedicated to delivering a high-quality service that focuses on supporting individuals to achieve their recovery goals. The aim is to improve the lives and support independence for those living with a mental illness. The team will engage with other local providers to ensure a clear and seamless pathway for those that require support from multiple providers. 

What will make you a great fit for this role?  

• Lived experience of mental illness, whether that is caring for someone else or yourself.
• Reliability and good timekeeping.

• Basic IT knowledge.

We are looking for up to ten UK university students to join our volunteer Student Ambassadors team and help Ygam achieve its social purpose by reaching out to students at university. This will be achieved by advising Ygam on the needs of students, supporting with content development, organising activities at your campus, and join us at events to raise awareness of gaming and gambling harms.

We are seeking individuals who are outgoing, with a confident personality. You will enjoy engaging with other students and be able to advise us on the experiences of students with regards to gaming and gambling.

About the role

As a Community Support Volunteer you will: 

As a Community Support Volunteer, you will complete face-to-face befriending activities with service users. You need to be able to travel around the locality in which you live to be able to do this. Ideally, you will be able to commit to a minimum of 1/2 a day (3-4 hours) of volunteering per week on a flexible basis, with the option to increase.

You will be working alongside our team of community link workers.

There may also be the opportunity to also attend different community events to advertise the service.

There will be full training opportunities to ensure that you are successful in your volunteering role, as well as regular check-in meetings.

About The Pinnacle Centre

The Pinnacle Centre is a third space in Birmingham helping young adults grow holistically. We work across three domains: personal development, sports and wellbeing, and community and belonging.

Vision 2030 is where that work is heading. We're building a multi-purpose centre in Birmingham — sports facilities, co-working space, an auditorium and a café — designed as a home for young adults to train, work, learn and gather.

Role Summary

You own how money comes into Pinnacle. Grants, corporate sponsorship, community giving and donor relationships all sit with you, and your job is to make them add up to an income that is diversified enough to survive one of them failing — while laying the groundwork for the campaign that funds Vision 2030. Finance manages what we spend; you determine what there is to spend.

Key tasks

1.  Strategy & pipeline

○ Own the annual fundraising plan with clear targets by income stream, agreed with the CFO.

○ Maintain a live pipeline of funders, sponsors and donors with deadlines, values and likelihood.

○ Balance the portfolio so that no single funder or channel is a point of failure.

○ Sequence effort towards the Vision 2030 capital requirement rather than only this year's costs.

2.  Community & digital giving

○ Design and run giving campaigns, including seasonal appeals and sponsored challenges.

○ Own our giving platforms, donation pages and Gift Aid processing.

○ Build a regular giving programme and reduce lapse rates through timely, human communication.

○ Set the ask and the case; work with Marketing, who own the channels and audience.

3.  Donor care, compliance & reporting

○ Ensure every donation is acknowledged promptly and that donors hear what their money changed.

○ Maintain an accurate donor record with consent and preferences, compliant with GDPR.

○ Ensure all fundraising meets Fundraising Regulator standards.

○ Report income against target to the CFO monthly, with an honest read on the pipeline.

What we're looking for

● A track record of raising money —community fundraising or High net worth.

● Excellent written English; you can make a case that persuades a stranger to fund it.

● Comfortable with targets, pipelines and being measured against them.

● You understand the difference between an ask and a relationship, and know when each is appropriate.

● Organised enough to run several income streams without dropping the reporting on any of them.

● Experience of a capital appeal or major campaign (desirable).

As an MS Help Hub Volunteer, you'll be there for people affected by MS when they need someone to listen.

You'll provide emotional support and reliable information, helping people feel heard, understood and more confident about their next steps. Sometimes you'll answer practical questions; other times, simply offering a listening ear can make all the difference.

You'll support people primarily over the telephone, although we also respond to enquiries by letter, email and webchat. Every conversation is different, and every conversation matters.

You don't need to have all the answers. We'll provide comprehensive training and ongoing support to help you build your knowledge of MS, available support, and the wider challenges people may face. You'll always be part of an experienced team of staff, volunteers and specialists who are there whenever you need them.

Most importantly, you'll be helping ensure that nobody has to face MS alone.

Is this role right for you?

You'll need to be available to volunteer during our weekday opening hours and commit to a regular volunteering pattern of around three hours each week. These hours can be completed flexibly across the week and don't all need to be in one session. The MS Help Hub is open Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm. We’re keen to hear what availability you can offer and will discuss this with you as part of the recruitment process.

As the role is home-based, you can volunteer from anywhere in the UK with a suitable internet connection and a quiet, private space to take calls.

This role involves supporting at a range of events to help raise money and awareness to tackle the housing emergency. It’s a really flexible opportunity. Once you’re signed up, we’ll let you know about upcoming events and tasks, and you can decide which you’d like to do.

Location: Sheffield

Suggested contribution: It’s up to you! Ideally, you’d help out at least 4-5 times per year, but this is flexible.

Availability: This is a varied opportunity with events taking place at different times and on different days throughout the year, including evenings and weekends. You can choose the events that best suit your availability.

This role fights the housing emergency by raising funds that enable Shelter to provide advice and support and campaigning for change. The events you’ll be attending are also great for raising awareness of the housing emergency and how people can get involved to help tackle it.

The Beacon Project is a community-focused programme providing confidential advice, connection, and learning opportunities for residents in the World’s End area. Through weekly coffee mornings, group sessions, and a befriending service that matches individuals with friendly Connectors for regular meet-ups, Beacon helps reduce isolation and build meaningful local relationships. We also offer free, practical support on issues such as benefits and housing, helping people understand their options and access the advice they need. Genesis Impact is a UK charity working with young people, schools and communities to create opportunities, raise aspirations and support young people to reach their potential.

Our programmes include mentoring, school-based initiatives and community projects. As our work continues to grow, we want to make sure we are doing a better job of sharing the stories, people and impact behind it.

About the Role

We are looking for a creative and enthusiastic Communications & Social Media Volunteer to help us strengthen Genesis Impact's online presence.

Working closely with our team, you will help us tell the story of our programmes across Instagram and LinkedIn, turning the work happening across our schools and communities into engaging and professional content.

This is a great opportunity for a student, recent graduate or someone looking to build experience in communications, marketing, social media or the charity sector.

What You'll Be Doing

• Creating engaging content for Instagram and LinkedIn
• Designing simple graphics and social posts using Canva
• Helping create and edit short-form video content and Reels
• Writing captions and short programme updates
• Turning photos, testimonials and programme outcomes into engaging stories
• Supporting communications around events, campaigns and programme launches
• Helping maintain a simple content calendar
• Identifying opportunities to increase Genesis Impact's visibility and engagement
• Supporting occasional newsletters and other communications
• Helping us showcase the voices and experiences of our young people, mentors, schools and partners

Who We're Looking For

You don't need years of professional experience. We're particularly interested in someone who:

• Has a genuine interest in communications, marketing or social media
• Is a confident and creative writer
• Has a good eye for what makes engaging social content
• Is comfortable using Instagram and LinkedIn
• Has some experience with Canva; CapCut or other video-editing tools would be a bonus
• Is organised and able to work independently
• Is reliable and able to commit a few hours each week
• Has an interest in young people, education, communities or the charity sector

Experience could come from university, a society, your own social media, volunteering, freelance projects or previous employment. A professional communications background is not required.

Commitment

We anticipate approximately 4–6 hours per week, with flexibility around studies, work and other commitments.

Most activity can be completed remotely, although there may be opportunities to attend Genesis Impact events and programme sessions in London to capture content.
