Join Spurgeons as our Fundraising Campaigns Manager, where you will lead the development and execution of integrated fundraising campaigns designed to increase revenue, enhance supporter relations, and bolster our mission to support children, young people, and families. We are seeking an experienced interim Direct Marketing Manager to join our membership marketing team to work on the Big Garden Birdwatch and membership acquisition campaigns from August 2024 to Jan 2025. This is a full time role.
To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate past experience of planning, proofing and fulfilment of multiple printed direct mail packs, response forms and emails. Ideally you will also have worked with inbound telemarketing teams and within a charity fundraising environment.

You will be working as part of a very small direct marketing team within a wider, cross-functional project, with tight deadlines, targets and multiple approval processes.

- Proven experience of planning and delivering end to end multi-channel direct marketing campaigns, working with in house teams and agencies.
- Degree educated or equivalent CIM/IDM qualification, and experience in a direct marketing role

Children growing up in poverty face multiple and complex challenges which limits their potential and development, leading to poor health and life chances in adulthood. Our work is focused on supporting the 800,000 children living in poverty in London.
Since 2013 The Childhood Trust has raised more than £31 million through our matched fundraising campaigns that have enabled us to fund the delivery child poverty projects across all London boroughs, engaging more than 390,000 children and young people to date.We are now looking to take our fundraising to the next level and need a talented Corporate Partnerships Manager to help us get there.
Job description
As Corporate Partnerships Manager, you will manage and grow our relationships with partners and donors from the private sector, who support our work through donations, employee fundraising and volunteering activities.
The successful candidate will thrive on cultivating and executing a fantastic experience for our corporate partners, finding opportunities to maximise their engagement and deliver fundraised income targets. The role will focus on managing and growing our existing relationships.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

Manage the charity’s relationships with a portfolio of corporate partners

Implement account management practices that support continued development and growth of key relationships, ensuring partners feel looked after, valued and understand the impact of their support.

Develop strong working internal relationships with colleagues, charity partners and volunteers, to identify suitable opportunities to bring to life the cause and solutions for partners and their employees.

Liaison between corporate partners and our volunteer programmes function, connecting partner employees to opportunities and stewarding the activity.

Create high quality reports, proposals and presentations that communicate the impact of our work and partnerships.

Ensure impactful relationships with challenge event providers and other fundraising products, taking responsibility for selling places in to partners to support fundraising and engagement.

Meet income targets of minimum c. £500k pa.

Ensure the charity complies with the fundraising regulator code of practice and fundraising compliance legislation.

Track and report on income, working with Finance as needed

Represent The Childhood Trust at events, visits and meetings

Contribute to the ongoing development and execution of The Childhood Trust’s strategic goals.
The skills we are looking for:
- Excellent communication and social skills to communicate with different audiences, including at Senior level
- Partnership management experience, ideally in a corporate enviroment
- A passion to support children living in poverty and the mission of the Childhood Trust
- Track record in securing income
- Great presentation and negotiation skills
- A proven ability to establish long-term relationships with partners and businesses
- Experience and ability to lead projects and manage project groups.
- Ability to spot opportunities, identify partners' needs and drivers and match these with the stretegic priorities of the Childhood Trust.
- Ability to work autonomously and have an appetite for continuous improvement.

Do you have a sound understanding of different income generation and market models and experience of developing and market testing new income generation propositions, including earned income streams?
If so, St Giles has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Regional Development Manager to join our team, where you will develop and embed a regional sustainability strategy which builds on relationships with key local stakeholders, commissioners, voluntary funders and networks; identifies and tests new ways of generating income which optimise the potential of our services; and supports the long-term stability of St Giles’ delivery presence in the region.

About this key role
The focus for our successful candidate will be to lead the development of a Regional Strategic / Sustainability plan, and to create a work plan which will support the achievement of agreed objectives. You will be expected to proactively explore, develop, and test new ways of generating income to optimise the potential of our services, to work with the Head of Service to build on existing and develop new relationships which will provide a platform for retention of existing services and provide for extension or further expansion of these activities, and to provide cover and support when Managers are absent.
Working collaboratively with the Voluntary Fundraising Team, we will rely on you to write and submit funding applications or lead commissioning response, to work with Head of Fundraising to prospect, approach and build relationships with corporate partners and/or Trusts and Foundations, plus provide excellent donor stewardship through hosting service visits, sharing the impact of St Giles work, attending meetings and reporting.
What we are looking for
- Experience of the process that is required to take an income model to market
- Proven record of building sustainability into income streams and business models
- Experience of developing and giving presentations or pitches to potential funders, commissioners, and other stakeholders
- Experience of writing bids or funding applications
- An understanding of the issues faced by those who face adverse challenges in their lives
- The ability to identify and implement new and innovative ways of generating income
- Excellent interpersonal, relationship-building and communication skills, verbal and written
- A flexible, collaborative and professional approach to your work.
