The Role 
 
As Retail Assurance Manager, you will provide specialist support, guidance, and oversight across all areas of operational risk within retail and estates, ensuring our locations operate safely, compliantly, and to agreed organisational standards. As the estate continues to grow, this role will enhance the organisation’s confidence in retail governance through effective assurance processes, training, and continuous improvement. 

The role will develop and maintain frameworks, policies, and tools to support retail managers in managing risk locally, covering areas such as Health and Safety, Fire Safety, financial controls and Gift Aid. By embedding accountability for risk management at every level, the Retail Assurance Manager will enable managers to own compliance within their areas, reinforcing a culture of safety, integrity, and strong performance. 

Working with the Head of Retail and Head of Retail Property and Estates, the post holder will design and deliver an operational annual retail audit programme, assessing performance across operational, financial, and compliance areas. Findings will inform improvement plans, demonstrate governance to the wider organisation, and help reduce incidents of non-compliance, theft, and fraud.

Specifically, you will: 

• Be the Health & safety (H&S) lead for retail and wider charity and be main point of contact for all related queries, concerns and escalations.  

• Provide “how to” checklists and guidance for ladders, steamers, reading and actioning risk assessments etc.  

• Be responsible for records of compliance training, Health & Safety inductions and DSE assessments across retail and the wider charity, flagging to senior managers non-compliance.  

• Develop risk assessments and processes with owners of the risk so these are relevant and highlight `immediate` and `progressive` actions.  

• Support the Centre Manager and Café Manager in food safety compliance developing food safety policies and procedures.  

• Work across retail and operations to ensure the Business Continuity Plan is up to date and maintain team`s risk registers.  

• Create an intuitive system to ensure Health & Ssafety policy and procedures are maintained, relevant and up to date.  

• Support provision of COSHH registers on our premises.  

 
About You 

To be considered for this role, you will need: 

• To have proven experience in an assurance, audit, compliance, risk, Health & Safety, or retail operations role (ideally within multi-site retail or a customer-facing estate).  

• To have working knowledge of relevant legislation and best practice (e.g., Health & Safety, Fire Safety, food safety where applicable, GDPR/data protection, safeguarding awareness) and the ability to translate requirements into practical guidance.  

• To have experience of planning and delivering an audit/inspection programme, including developing checklists/standards, conducting site visits, identifying non-conformance, and agreeing proportionate improvement actions.  

• To have experience of producing clear reports and presenting findings to different audiences, including senior stakeholders, with recommendations that balance risk, practicality and commercial impact.  

• A NEBOSH qualification would be preferred but we would consider IOSH with a view to training towards NEBOSH to the right applicant.  

• To be Educated to A Level or above.  

• To have basic Health and Safety and Fire training in previous roles alongside an awareness of GDPR, Cyber Security and Safeguarding or ability to demonstrate awareness of the above. Good understanding of Data Protection principles.  

• To have IT literacy in particular with Microsoft Office.

This is a new role, expanding the management team in our Services team, and providing some additional focus for our grant making, commissioning and direct service provision work.

This is an exciting time to be joining our team. Our grant making work is providing support for wellbeing services across the county, in addition to the £5m Sunflower Appeal, which will provide a major capital grant for a new cancer centre at the Princess Royal Hospital, Telford. We have recently begun commissioning services directly, with our counselling service for family and carers of cancer patients being our first step into this way of working.

There are huge opportunities to develop our work further. Our Bins for Boys project launched in 2024, and we want to see Bins for Boys venues across our region by 2028. Our monitoring, evaluation and impact work is building, and there is grant potential to shape how we report on the value our work has to the communities around us.

We are looking for someone who is a confident communicator, able to develop strong partnerships and has the skill to understand and interpret new project ideas. A clinical background is not a requirement, but a genuine interest in how we can make a difference for people living with cancer is essential.

Our ideal candidate will have an understanding of managing grant-funded projects, a creative approach to challenges and a supportive attitude to managing others. They will be able to navigate complex governance and work with internal and external stakeholders effectively. They will have the ability to see and realise opportunities for income generation to support their work.

This role will work alongside the Head of Services (Cancer Awareness), and there is an expectation of close collaboration and cross-working between the two sides of the team. It will also form part of the wider Lingen Davies management team, attending senior team meetings and collaborating with others to ensure smooth running and development across the charity.

Please note, this role requires travel across our large, rural region. Therefore, a UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle is essential.

Community Fundraiser (Covering North Liverpool, Southport, Knowsley & St Helens)

As part of our community team, you will place our supporters at the heart of everything you do by cultivating and stewarding relationships to provide a first-class experience. You are outgoing, independent, able to work instinctively, and confident in making approaches to garner new support.  You will have the ability to translate our story to develop and inspire our volunteers and engage with a wide range of community contacts and high street corporates. You'll be joining the charity during an exciting period of growth, as we develop our community volunteer led income with the aim of increasing charity reach and recognition in pursuit of our team targets and goals.

Ideally you will have experience of working in a fundraising environment (paid or voluntary), or be able to demonstrate transferable skills within a customer-facing role, and the ability to manage relationships with a diverse range of people.

The role will be based at our Liverpool fundraising office. The option of hybrid/flexible working where appropriate can be considered.

A good knowledge of the area this role covers and a full driving licence and use of a car in order to travel between Clatterbridge sites and across the wider area is essential.

Preference would also be for the candidate to live within or close to the area the role covers.

The Campaign Manager will lead the development and delivery of engaging, audience-focused campaigns that raise awareness of the charity, increase understanding of cancer support services, promote grant-giving programmes, and help drive fundraising growth across the region.

The role will focus on bringing the charity’s impact to life through powerful storytelling, creative campaigns, and compelling content that demonstrates how the charity supports people affected by cancer and invests in hospitals, healthcare services, and local communities.

Working across fundraising, services, and communications, the Campaign Manager will develop integrated campaigns that inspire support, strengthen community engagement, and increase the visibility and reach of the charity.

Key Responsibilities 

Campaign Development & Delivery

• Develop and deliver multi-channel campaigns that support the charity’s strategic priorities and objectives.

• Create awareness campaigns that promote the charity brand, support services, fundraising activities, and grant-giving programmes.

• Lead campaign planning from concept through to delivery and evaluation.

• Ensure campaigns are audience-focused, emotionally engaging, and aligned with the charity’s values and tone of voice.

• Coordinate campaign timelines, budgets, assets, and stakeholder input to ensure successful delivery.

Demonstrating Impact Through Storytelling

• Develop compelling campaign content that demonstrates the real-life impact of the charity’s work.

• Showcase how fundraising supports people affected by cancer, healthcare improvements, hospital services, community initiatives, and wellbeing programmes.

• Gather and develop case studies, patient stories, supporter testimonials, videos, photography, and impact data.

• Work sensitively with beneficiaries, families, healthcare professionals, and grant recipients to capture authentic stories.

• Translate complex healthcare or grant information into accessible and engaging public-facing content.

Supporting Fundraising Growth

• Create campaigns that help increase fundraising income and supporter engagement.

• Support community fundraising, events, corporate partnerships, individual giving, and appeals through targeted campaign activity.

• Develop supporter journeys and engagement campaigns that encourage donations, participation, and long-term loyalty.

• Identify opportunities to broaden audience reach and attract new supporters.

Awareness of Services & Grant-Giving

• Increase awareness of the charity’s support services among people affected by cancer, carers, healthcare professionals, and local communities.

• Promote grant-funded projects and partnerships across hospitals and community settings.

• Work collaboratively with service delivery teams and healthcare partners to communicate outcomes and opportunities effectively.

• Support campaigns that improve access to services and reach underserved audiences.

Content & Communications

• Develop campaign content across digital, print, social media, email, video, PR, and advertising channels.

• Work with designers, photographers, videographers, agencies, and suppliers where required.

• Ensure all campaign materials are accurate, accessible, inclusive, and on brand.

• Contribute to website content, newsletters, impact reports, and social media storytelling.

Monitoring & Evaluation

• Monitor campaign performance and provide regular reporting on engagement, reach, conversions, and impact.

• Use audience insights, analytics, and feedback to optimise campaign effectiveness.

• Evaluate return on investment and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

Relationship Management

• Build strong relationships across fundraising, services, healthcare partners, community organisations, and external suppliers.

• Act as a positive ambassador for the charity at events, meetings, and partnership activities.

• Support collaborative working across teams to maximise campaign impact.

Alive Activities is seeking an experienced, compassionate and community-focused individual to deliver an innovative new programme supporting older people living with both cancer and dementia, particularly within Black Caribbean and South Asian communities.

This exciting new role will lead the delivery of Same Mind, Same Body — a community-led project designed to record cancer care experiences, investigate inequalities, and share findings with stakeholders Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire.  You will be working closely with a project coordinator from the Bristol Pakistani Community Welfare Organisation.

Working alongside community organisations, healthcare professionals and people with lived experience, you will help:

• Identify barriers within cancer and dementia care pathways
• Build trusted relationships with underserved communities
• Co-design culturally responsive and dementia-friendly solutions
• Pilot new approaches to support, communication and care navigation
• Share findings with stakeholders

We are looking for someone with strong project management and partnership-building skills, alongside a genuine commitment to tackling health inequalities and improving the lives of older people.

You will bring:

• Experience delivering community health, dementia, cancer or inequality-focused services

About the Role

This is an exciting leadership opportunity to join a values driven charity supporting people affected by cancer. As Programme Manager, you will be part of the Senior Leadership Team, leading Welfare Advice and Wellbeing services and helping shape the future direction of the organisation.

You will oversee day to day service delivery, ensuring services remain safe, effective and person centred while meeting funding and contractual requirements. The role combines operational management, team leadership, safeguarding oversight and partnership working.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading and supporting Welfare Advice and Wellbeing teams
• Managing service quality, safeguarding, risk and complaints processes
• Monitoring performance, outcomes and reporting requirements
• Supporting staff development, wellbeing and positive team culture
• Managing service budgets and resources effectively

The role is mainly based in Bradford with hybrid working available. Some travel to Skipton and partner meetings will be required, alongside occasional evening or weekend work.

About You

You will be an experienced manager from the charity, community, advice or wellbeing sector, with a strong understanding of service delivery and people leadership.

To succeed in this role, you will ideally have:

• Experience leading small teams within community, advice or wellbeing services
• Strong safeguarding and risk management knowledge
• Experience improving services and managing performance
• Confidence managing staff performance, supervision and development
• Experience managing budgets and working with funding requirements
• Strong relationship building and stakeholder engagement skills
• Good IT and reporting skills
• A collaborative and supportive leadership style

Experience within welfare rights, health services or cancer support would be an advantage.

Hours: 21 hours (part time) to 35 hours (full time) per week. We can offer flexibility around core operational hours to accommodate caring responsibilities. Core hours of work are between 8.30am to 5.30pm. Wednesday is a core working day.

Location is either:

JOB DESCRIPTION

You will work within the support team in providing the first point of contact for all support enquiries to Ovacome, via telephone, email, instant chat, and social media channels.

You will provide information and support on a wide range of ovarian cancer issues, including broader issues around living with cancer, ensuring that all information is evidence based and up-to-date.

You will assist in the moderation of the My Ovacome support forum and provide information where required to members.

You will assist in keeping the Support Services information on the Ovacome website up-to-date.

You will keep full, accurate, contemporaneous records of all enquiries following Ovacome policies and procedures, including confidentiality and data protection. You will maintain and update records on the Ovacome database.

You will assist in the organisation and facilitation of Ovacome groups as required.

You will maintain knowledge of clinical and research developments in ovarian cancer through relevant journals, attending conferences and liaison with healthcare professionals.

You will assist with the production of reports as required.

You will participate in regional support events as required, liaising with local services prior to the event. 

You will contribute to the Ovacome information resources and work with other members of the Ovacome to produce content that is of interest to our community.

You will work with the support team to identify common questions and themes from our service users so that we can proactively meet the needs of the wider community.

You will assist with writing and updating our Information booklets and resources to agreed standards (PIF Tick) and following agreed processes.

About the Role

The Medical Sciences Development team works collaboratively with colleagues across the Division and the wider Development and Alumni Engagement team to secure philanthropic support for research priorities across Oxford’s medical sciences community.

As Development Executive, you will manage a portfolio of more than 100 major gift prospects and develop meaningful relationships with donors, academics, and colleagues across the University. You will identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors capable of supporting research projects through gifts typically ranging from £100,000 to £500,000 over time.

This role offers the opportunity to contribute to high-profile fundraising initiatives that support world-leading medical research. You will also work closely with the Head of Development - Medical Sciences to help deliver fundraising priorities across a diverse and impactful portfolio.

About You

You will be able to demonstrate:

• Experience of major gift fundraising, including securing gifts at the £50,000 level or above.
• The ability to identify and engage prospective donors and develop relationships.
• Strong strategic and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
• An interest in medical sciences, higher education, and the mission of the University of Oxford.

The Follicular Lymphoma Foundation (FLF) is partnering with Robertson Bell on a retained basis to appoint a Head of Finance on a permanent basis. This is a pivotal leadership opportunity within an ambitious, globally focused organisation working to accelerate a cure for follicular lymphoma - and to do it fast.

Founded in 2019, FLF is the first charity in the world dedicated solely to curing follicular lymphoma, an incurable blood cancer affecting more than 1.5 million people globally. Operating across the UK, US and Israel, FLF brings together researchers, clinicians, patients, pharmaceutical partners and funders to drive innovation and breakthrough research.

Reporting directly to the Global CEO and working closely with Trustees, Board Members and senior stakeholders, the Head of Finance will play a key role in shaping financial strategy, strengthening operational maturity and supporting international growth.

The role:
• Lead the development of FLF’s long-term financial strategy, supporting growth and international expansion.
• Partner with the Global CEO, Trustees and leadership team, providing financial insight to support decision-making, programme investment and fundraising activity.
• Oversee financial management across multiple international entities, ensuring robust controls, governance and compliance.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and scenario modelling processes.
• Support grant funding, restricted income management and pharma partnership activity.
• Oversee management accounts, statutory reporting, audits and regulatory submissions across UK and US operations.
• Drive improvements in systems, reporting and operational efficiency.
• Provide leadership and development support to the Finance and Operations Officer.
• Act as a trusted advisor across the organisation, balancing strategic leadership with hands-on delivery.
• Present financial information clearly to Boards and non-finance stakeholders.

Essential criteria:
• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) or qualified by experience.
• Experience in a senior finance leadership role within a charity environment.
• Strong experience managing reporting, budgeting and forecasting within a growing organisation.
• Experience operating across complex stakeholder environments, with the confidence to influence senior leaders and Boards.
• Strong understanding of governance, controls, compliance and risk management.
• Hands-on and adaptable approach, comfortable operating strategically while remaining close to operational detail.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Proactive, solutions-focused mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience across multiple entities, funding streams or international operations would be advantageous.
