An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experience Business Development Marketing professional to join our team.

The Children’s Trust is the UK’s leading charity for children with acquired brain injury, providing expert rehabilitation, education, therapy and care at our national specialist centre in Tadworth, and to children and their families across the UK, via our Community Rehabilitation Service. We are the largest centre commissioned by NHS England for Category A neurorehabilitation.

This role is pivotal in leading on developing commissioning and referral relationships with external stakeholders, whilst driving development of services and marketing activities to build and promote new business, increase income, strengthen pipelines, and position The Children's Trust as the provider of choice for children with acquired brain injury and neurodisability. 

You’ll work alongside a cross-organisational team to promote our services to external stakeholders, in particular managing our key account plan to influence, maximise referrals and income generating opportunities. Key to this is cultivating and maintaining relationships with stakeholders including hospital-based clinicians, commissioners at both integrated care boards and local authorities, with professionals with NHS England at a regional and national levels, embassies, medico-legal professionals including case managers and lawyers.

To underpin this, you’ll create, implement and review services-related multi-channel marketing activity, both on and off-line, including development and oversight of our professionals’ events programme, ensuring all activity aligns to, is integrated and works towards delivering our strategic objectives.

Role Requirements

You’ll play a key and central role in driving promotion of our services, and this requires a balanced mix of both business development and marketing skills, knowledge and experience in a complex, services environment. You’ll be comfortable with matrix working, recognising the importance of this role in working across the organisation to drive referral generating activity.

To succeed in this high profile and diverse role, you must demonstrate:

• Building and maintaining relationships with a wide range of external stakeholders, including commissioning bodies such as NHS England, Integrated Care Boards, Local Authorities. 
• Strong communication and negotiation skills. 
• Marketing of services, preferably within healthcare/social care sector. 
• Managing and reporting on development of services and associated marketing activities, in a structured way.
• Knowledge of commissioning landscapes, within healthcare/social care sector. 
• Proven self-starter and excellent track record in development of services, including driving referrals, building pathways and promoting service.

Overall Purpose of the Head of Services

This new role reports to the Chief Executive and is a member of the charity’s Senior Leadership Team (SLT).  The role reflects planned development and expansion in the charity’s direct service provision including the development of a permanent Helpline following a pilot project in 2025.

About the role

As Deputy Service Manager, you’ll support the Service Manager to ensure high quality service delivery. 5 billion people do not have access to safe, affordable surgical and anaesthesia care when needed. Can you help us address this neglected area of global health? 

Surgery and anaesthesia have a fundamental and growing impact on global health outcomes. Surgical intervention could address over 30% of the global burden of disease, and yet the poorest 33% of people receive just 3.5% of all surgery. Post-operative mortality rates 1,000 times higher than in some high-income countries can be found in parts of the world where surgery and anaesthesia have been neglected, and in some countries as many as 90% of anaesthetic departments do not have the equipment to provide a safe anaesthetic for a child. 

With 142 Member Societies made up of anaesthesiologists in 151 countries, the World Federation of Societies of Anaesthesiologists (WFSA) is uniquely placed to influence these inequalities and help ensure universal access to safe surgery and safe anaesthesia.

As Governance Manager you will be responsible for delivering a high quality, professional, and effective governance service across the Federation and associated entities. You will work closely with our CEO, Governance & Programmes Officer, Board and other volunteers and leaders as required to deliver a number of key governance activities. This includes virtual and in-person meetings of the WFSA Board, Council, and General Assembly.

You will contribute to the expanding governance functions of the Federation family, with a focus on streamlining processes, improving organisational efficiency, and enhancing leadership communication and collaboration. The Gray’s Inn Road supported accommodation project in Camden offers 16 short-stay places for people moving away from the streets and has quickly become a vital part of our mission to make rough sleeping in London rare, brief and not repeated. Funded by the Department of Levelling Up Housing and Communities and the Greater London Authority, and delivered in partnership with One Housing Group and Camden Council, this service is still in its early years, giving the next Service Manager the chance to build on strong foundations and lead it into the future.

Contract Managers are responsible for the effective management of all contracts within their designated patch, including line managing the relevant front line staff. Leadership and competence development in direct reports is a key responsibility of the role.
