Katherine Low Settlement is a busy, local charity that has been serving Battersea and the wider Wandsworth community since 1924. We are dedicated to building stronger communities and enable people to challenge and find ways out of poverty and isolation.
We run a range of our own community services to support local older people and children, young people, and their families from refugee communities. We campaign for social change. We incubate and support other charities and social businesses to thrive. Each week we work with 30+ charities and community groups supporting more than 1,000 people.

Katherine Low Settlement has worked with older people since its conception in 1924.They are a core part of the community that we continue to work with. We provide, often in partnership, a range of projects and activities for older people including health and wellbeing; creative arts; intergenerational work; connecting people and trips/outings.
Our services include Battersea Bites, Age Well and Core social activities and digital inclusion.

Key Objectives for this Role
Oversee the day-to-day running of our Battersea Bites Programme that includes a lunch club for people 50+ that runs on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays and a healthy eating session on Mondays. This includes leading in the planning, shopping and preparation and provision of meals, the responsibility for the day-to-day running of the kitchen including overseeing a team of volunteers and ensuring compliance with relevant Health & Safety and Food Hygiene requirements.
Roles & Responsibilities
Planning
• Plan and develop a monthly lunch service menu, a month in advance, using creative license to provide nutritious, varied, and satisfying meals that meet diverse dietary requirements (e.g., allergies, cultural needs, vegetarian/vegan options) while strictly adhering to Health & Safety and food hygiene regulations.
• Develop ideas for Battersea Bites Healthy cook and eat/ other sessions with the Age Well Team.
• Handle purchases and expense tracking using the Soldo card, ensuring full compliance with the bank card usage policy, and submitting all receipts and records promptly and accurately for financial oversight and reporting, for which training can be provided.
• Create several themed menus throughout the year which will engage members. For example, a Summer Lunch, an Afternoon Tea, etc.
• Support the planning of the older people’s lunch club with older people themselves
• Support the Elders team to welcome and support new members to feel part of the programme.
Delivery
• Complete a weekly food shop either online (we currently use Asda delivery service) or locally, buying fresh ingredients weekly which fall within the financial budget.
• Prepare, cook and serve healthy meals, ensuring dietary needs are met
• Undertake stock control such as stock rotation, ensuring all food items are labelled with expiry dates and disposed of when necessary.
• Ensure all equipment is ready and set up for the lunch club service.
• Ensure the security of the kitchen and store cupboards to provide a safe working environment. (Our cupboards are locked.)
• To ensure routine day-to-day as well as specialised cleaning of kitchen equipment, work surfaces, kitchen floors and storage areas.
• Keep accurate and up-to-date records, including the health and safety folder containing opening and closing checks. Training can be provided.
• Ensure your hygiene and cleanliness are of the highest standard, and those of anyone entering the kitchen, including volunteers, are suitably dressed and uphold the same standards
• Be part of and work closely with the Elders Team at KLS
• Support elders who attend the club so that the sessions are safe and enjoyable for them.
• Inform the Manager (or in their absence the Head of Service) of any concerning incidents, compliments, complaints or accidents (including safeguarding issues).
• Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills by quickly and calmly addressing kitchen challenges and ensuring smooth meal preparation under pressure.
• Take part in the monitoring and evaluation of the programme under the guidance of the Managers of the 50+ programme
• Coordinate with staff and volunteers to ensure efficient meal service.
• To attend any relevant training sessions to ensure that you are fully equipped to perform your role effectively
• To actively assist in the continuation of our high food hygiene rating
• Have acquired or are willing to Level 2 and Level 3 Food Hygiene Certificate
• Actively participate in meetings such as supervision and appraisals, and staff meetings. The manager reviews progress, reflects on goals, and completes agreed actions and tasks within set deadlines to support ongoing development and programme success.
Coordination of Battersea Bites Volunteers
• Form and build positive working relationships with volunteers who work within Battersea Bites.
• Take responsibility for coordinating individual volunteers and respond effectively to their feedback, and report any concerns to the Core Manager.
Undertake Other Duties
• To comply with any reasonable request from KLS Management to undertake work of a similar level that is not specified in this job description.

The Senior Fundraiser for Trusts and Foundations will be our lead fundraiser, drawing in support and expertise from across the team. They will take ownership of identifying funding sources, refining a strategy, forecasting our fundraising income, and building strong relationships with donors, bringing the experiences of our group members to life in fundraising communications. They will line management a full-time fundraiser who specialises in individual giving while the Senior Fundraiser for Trusts and Foundations will lead on grant writing.
In the last 5 years, CARAS has had huge success, more than trebling our income and enabling us to expand our staff team and therefore our reach. We are a highly impactful organisation that is often looked to for our insight in the sector. Fundraising

Line-manage our Fundraising Officer and work together to generate income to meet CARAS’s budgetary targets through trusts and foundations, individual giving, community fundraising and other means at our disposal.

Develop and deliver a fundraising strategy which synchronises with the CARAS Strategic Plan.

Research and maintain a real-time pipeline of fundraising opportunities and oversee delivery. Lead or allocate all income generation opportunities in good time so that appropriate co-design and decision-making processes are behind applications.

Maintain up-to-date records on potential and active funders in CARAS’s database.

Ensure compliance with best practice in fundraising including use of data and confidentiality.

This role directly aligns with these strategic plans, to refine and use innovative participatory research centring lived experience, share and amplify insight from people with experience of homelessness, and increase our campaigning activities to change systems and break down the barriers that stand in people’s way to a healthier life and more hopeful future.
This role has been created on an interim basis to assess its impact and effectiveness, with a key focus on reviewing the priorities, progression and support of our Research Team and making recommendations for the future regarding this new role. Background
The Minster Centre is a registered charity based in Queens Park, London NW6 that trains psychotherapists and counsellors and provides an accessible therapy service. As an accredited higher education organisation, we provide in-person and online courses throughout the week and weekend. The Minster Centre provides a psychotherapy and counselling service to the local community and has a number of rooms that are hired out for therapy, training, and events.
The Reception Manager is a critical and central role at The Minster Centre, providing a welcoming service to students, room hirers, therapy clients and staff members that is efficient and aligned with The Minster Centre’s Ethos. As part of this role, you will provide first-line support to tutors and students as well as undertake administrative duties crucial to the running of the Centre. You will also provide support to other staff members where appropriate.
Job summary
The ideal candidate will have previous administration and front of house experience to help ensure that all building users (students, room hirers and clients) are welcomed, that the building is available and set up for training and therapy services, and that the building is closed and secured at the end of the day. Oversee and manage the Reception Team
- Ensure Reception is always covered by organising a reception rota that covers absence, holidays, etc.

About the role
Development Group generates philanthropic and sponsorship income to help us create a Natural History Museum for the future – investing in capital development, attaining vital acquisitions for the collection, transforming our galleries, developing innovative exhibitions and undertaking ground-breaking scientific research on issues that affect us all.
The Museum is looking for an ambitious and self-motivated individual for the role of Philanthropy Manager. The role will be focused on raising funds from high-net-worth individuals capable of giving six-figure gifts and key in achieving our strategic priorities. It will involve working both independently and closely with senior stakeholders in order to cultivate and maintain relationships with new and existing funders, securing income towards a diverse range of core and capital projects.
Working alongside an approachable and highly successful Philanthropy team and reporting into the Senior Philanthropy Manager (HNWI), the role will cultivate and build relationships with a portfolio of potential and existing funders, engaging with them through correspondence, meetings, events and creating compelling proposals to secure funding. The role will provide exemplary stewardship and create robust and long-term pipelines, whilst actively supporting the Philanthropy Executive with their portfolio.
About you
The appointed person will be able to secure and manage gifts from high-net-worth individuals, and have exceptional written and oral communication skills, with an ability to convey detailed information in a concise and engaging manner. They will have an ability to establish productive relationships with a variety of funders, prospects and colleagues and be able to to establish productive relationships with a variety of funders, prospects and colleagues. The person will be able to work proactively and constructively with colleagues to develop high-quality project proposals and act as an ambassador for the Natural History Museum amongst a range of high-profile external contacts. Finally, they must have exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills and an ability to prioritise and meet regular deadlines whilst working under pressure.

Animal Equality releases investigative materials captured from inside factory farms and slaughterhouses, exposing the conditions that farmed animals face around the world. Animal Equality also advocates for political change. Our current campaigns include a UK ban on foie gras imports, increased enforcement of existing animal protection laws, legal protections for farmed fish, and Government subsidies for transitioning towards a plant-based food system.
We focus on farmed animals because of the scale and severity of the issue. More than a billion animals are confined and killed for human consumption every year in the UK. Farmed animals also often suffer in some of the worst ways: pigs typically endure painful mutilations, many chickens die of heart attacks, fish are confined in underwater cages, and some farmed animals are victims of deliberate abuse and neglect. But the problem is solvable! By utilising effective campaigning strategies, Animal Equality is having an impact for animals around the world and building a future where all animals are respected and protected and are no longer exploited for human consumption.

ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a highly organised, detail-oriented Operations Officer to play a central role in ensuring the smooth running of Animal Equality UK’s internal operations and supporter services.
This is a varied role covering administration, finance, data management, supporter care, and event coordination. You will be the first point of contact for many of our supporters and stakeholders, providing excellent service while supporting team members across all departments.
The ideal candidate will be proactive, solutions-focused, and comfortable balancing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. You will have a ‘can-do’ attitude and a calm and professional demeanour, thrive on problem-solving, and take pride in ensuring that systems and processes run efficiently behind the scenes.
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Culture and internal support: Act as a culture ambassador, upholding Animal Equality’s values of professionalism, resilience, accountability, and compassion. Strengthen communication between teams and ensure effective use of project management tools. Identify and lead process improvements with guidance from the Operations Manager.
- Supporter and donor care: Serve as the first point of contact for supporter queries via phone, email, post, and social media. Provide excellent donor support, including thanking donors, resolving payment issues, and sending mailings. Maintain supporter and volunteer records accurately in CRM systems and ensure compliance with GDPR.
- Finance and reporting: Process expenses, supplier payments, and support budget forecasting. Assist with Gift Aid claims, monthly data uploads, and finance reports. Prepare scheduled reports and presentations to track progress against objectives.
- Team processes: Support recruitment processes, including application handling, interview coordination, and onboarding/offboarding schedules. Ensure smooth induction for new staff and manage equipment, training resources, and access.
- Events and operations: Assist with the organisation of internal training, team meet-ups, and supporter events. Support health and safety measures for team members and volunteers at peaceful protests, undertaking risk assessments and first aid training. Manage stock and campaign materials, fulfil supporter requests, and oversee mailing logistics.
- Data and systems: Conduct database cleansing and maintain accurate supporter, volunteer, and executive records.
- Represent Animal Equality’s culture: Support Animal Equality’s life-saving work by producing high-quality output, embracing and representing the organisation’s culture principles proudly at all times, and supporting our philanthropic efforts.
- Support with other ad hoc duties, as requested by your line manager.

Adaptable and solutions-focused, you are confident when learning new technologies.
You will be based remotely in the UK. In addition to monthly meet-ups, some travel within the UK may be required for demonstrations, meetings, and events. While not common, occasional evening or weekend work may be necessary to support campaigning activities. Any additional hours worked and agreed with your Manager can be reclaimed as TOIL.
